On this episode of The Art of Fitness, Steve talks with Val Voboril. Val is a 38 year old 4th grade elementary school teacher from Fresno, California. She’s also a professional CrossFit athlete, a mom, and is just 3 classes away from completing her Masters in Education at Cal Coast University.

2009- CrossFit Games (medical withdrawal after event 1),
2010- CrossFit Games Individual Female 3rd place overall, Teacher of the Year Award
2011- had her daughter Vin
2012 - Southern California Regional 3rd, CrossFit Games 5th.
2013- Southern California Regional 3rd, CrossFit Games 3rd.
2014 - Southern California Regional 3rd, CrossFit Games 5th.
2015 - Super California Regional 15th
2016 - Declined regional invitation, Competed on a Team with Maddy Meyers and Regan Huckaby at Wodapalooza and took 1st for the elite female team division
2017 - Masters Online Qualifier 7th in the world, California Regional 4th, (Open 353rd in the world, 21st in SoCal), Educator of the Year Award
In this episode, Val shares, for the first time publicly, her largest life hurdle; how she lived with and ultimately overcame a 10 year battle with bulimia.
