TADP Season 2 Episode 12 – F.B.I Most Wanted Fugitive Robert Fisher Jul 05, 2018
    Show notes

F.B.I. MOST WANTED ROBERT FISHER Welcome to another episode of the armchair detective podcast, I’m you’re host the armchair detective. Today’s episode will be much different than my other episodes. While in this episode I will be talking about a missing person, this missing person also happens to be on the FBI’s most wanted list. His name is Robert Fisher. This case was brought to my attention by youtube follower Ben. Thanks Ben for your suggestion. If anyone else has suggestions on cases you would like me to feature on my podcast, please let me know. My goal is to have the listeners of the armchair detective podcast to participate in this podcast so again if you have suggestions, or if you would like to participate in an episode by co-hosting an episode about a case that is important to you, please send me an email and let me know. As I mentioned in my last episode, there will be a few things to look forward to in the upcoming months. I will have some promotional events on the podcast where I will give away promotional gifts to listeners of the podcast. I will also be putting out an e-book in the next few months which will detail my journey into true crime podcasting and will be discussing never released materials about some of my early podcast episodes. I actually already began writting this ebook and will post it to my website armchairdetective.org. The ebook will be sold for $5 per digital copy, however patrons of the podcast will receive free copies. Now onto today’s case. In today’s episode I start by discussing the details surrounding the tragedy that struck the Fisher family. Then I will discuss the aftermath and subsequent police investigation and I will finish the episode with a call to action. So lets get started: Scottsdale Arizona, a city known for it’s rich European roots and arid climate. The winters are quite mild to warm however the summers are extremely hot. Scottsdale is also known for it’s tourism industry which is it’s primary employer, accounting for 39% of the city’s workforce. “The West’s most western town” prides itself in its rich Western history, preserving while heavily promoting its plethora of “western” activities and events. The Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show has taken place since 1955. Today, the show attracts thousands of visitors and tourists, to see nearly 2000 purebred Arabian and Half-Arabian horses competing for various prizes and recognition. Scottsdale is also home to a variety of high-end nightclubs, restaurants, hotels, lounges and bars. This is evident by the growing number of style-conscious hotels that have opened up throughout Downtown Scottsdale which equally cater to the nightlife crowds. The city is also the spring training home of the San Francisco Giants, who practice at Scottsdale Stadium in Downtown Scottsdale. Though none play specifically in the city of Scottsdale, all of the “Big Four” North American major league sports organizations have franchises and play within the Phoenix Metropolitan Area – NBA’s Phoenix Suns, NFL’s Arizona Cardinals, MLB’s Arizona Diamondbacks and NHL’s Arizona Coyotes, as well as a WNBA franchise, the Phoenix Mercury. Robert Fisher was just one of over 200,000 Scottsdale residents. Fisher was a U.S. Navy veteran and he married his wife Mary Cooper in 1987. He has worked as a surgical catheter technician, respiratory therapist, and firefighter, and is an avid outdoors man, hunter, and fisherman. He was described by those who knew him as a cruel and distant control freak who was awkward with his children, but tried to keep an image of a devoted husband and father. His mother-in-law, Ginny Cooper, told investigators that, “Fisher didn’t socialize often with family because of a fear of getting too close to people and losing them.” It’s clear by this comment that Fisher suffered from abandonment issues. Fisher’s mother told investigators that she had been a “yes-sir” wife who didn’t stand up to her husband. She added that she saw similar dynamics early in her son’s marriage to Mary, and had talked to her about her concerns. One close friend of Fisher stated that his family resembled his childhood family. Fisher was born on April 13th 1961 in Brooklyn, New York to William Fisher, a banker, and Jan Howell. He has two sisters and attended Sahuaro High School in Tucson, Arizona. His parents divorced in 1976, when he was 15. According to closest to Robert, the divorce was extremely difficult and had long-lasting effects on him. He confided to one associate that his life could have been different if his mother had not left the family. By all accounts, the Fisher’s were your typical married couple. Both Robert and his wife Mary were active members of the Scottsdale Baptist Church. Robert was actually involved in the men’s ministry, however unlike his wife Mary, Robert began to withdraw from his activities at church. It seemed like they had it all, the white picket fence and the two kids. But things aren’t always as they seem. The Fisher’s had some problems with their marriage and in 1998, the Fishers went to their church’s senior pastor for marital counseling. Fisher had apparently told some coworkers about a one-night stand he had with a prostitute he met in a massage parlor. He was worried that Mary would find out that it was this one-night stand was the cause of a urinary tract infection that left him ill for several days back in December of 2000. Fisher apparently told a hunting buddy that he was renewing his commitment to his faith and marriage because he “he could not live without his family”, possibly hinting that he would consider suicide over divorce. With all that Scottsdale has to offer, nothing could prepare it’s residents from the pure evil that was about to take place. It was April 10, 2001 and by all accounts it was just your typical Tuesday evening with mild and arid temperatures. The Fisher family was getting ready for bed in their home in the 2000 block of North 74th Place. But there were some evil lurking behind the white picket fence. The night before the horrific events, a neighbor claimed that they heard a loud argument coming from the Fisher residence on the evening of April 9 2001, April 9, 2001, between 9:30 and 10:15 p.m. Later that same evening at 10:43 p.m. , Robert Fisher, appeared on an ATM camera, with Mary Fisher’s Toyota 4Runner in the background. In the early hours of April 10, 2001 Scottsdale fire department responded to reports of a house fire 2000 block of North 74th Place. While combing through all the charred remains of the home, investigators made a absolutely shocking discovery. They found Mary Fisher, who was 38 years old at the time. They discovered that her throat had been slit and that she had a gunshot wound in the back of the head. As the firefighters continue combing through the charred remains, they found the body of Brittany, their 12 year old daughter. Her throat had been slit from ear to ear. They also found the body of their 10 year old son Bobby. His throat had also been slit. Their bodies were so badly burned, they were barely recognizable. All three were found in their beds. Clues immediately pointed to the Scottsdale husband and father, Robert Fisher, who, friends told investigators, was aggressive, controlling, and in an unhappy marriage. Investigators believe that before Fisher fled the scene, he severed a gas line in the home, poured flammable liquid throughout the property, and lit a candle, causing the house to explode and burn to the ground. Detectives began to put together the pieces to a chilling scenario of what happened on the night of the murders. It’s obvious that the stabbing wounds could not have been inflicted during the fire. Investigators believe that several hours prior to the explosion, Robert Fisher slashed the throats of each of his children, and then his wife. Det. Kirkham stated the following: “As a source of ignition, we believe that a candle with a candleholder was used as a timing device in order to allow Robert time to leave the residence. Robert committed the arson in order to cover up the murders, believing that the bodies would be burned beyond recognition, covering up any sign of what had happened. But it didn’t cover it up quite as well as expected.” Law enforcement launched a full-scale manhunt for Fisher which initially turned up few leads. Then, ten days after Fisher was caught on ATM footage, Mary’s SUV was spotted by a hiker. According to Det. Kirkham, it had been abandoned near Fisher’s favorite hunting area: “It was clean. There was no dust on it. It was underneath pine trees and there were very few pine tree needles on top of the vehicle or in the vehicle, which indicated to us that it had probably been dumped there within 24 hours of discovery.” Investigators soon arrived at the remote area. But the landscape contained hundreds of caves which made the search very difficult. More than 100 officers conducted a manhunt of the mountainous terrain and days of searching produced nothing . However there were two theories that emerge. One, that a despondent Robert Fisher took refuge in one of the caves, where he eventually committed suicide. The other theory suggested that a cunning Fisher left the SUV behind as a ploy to divert the attention of investigators and then vanished. However, Det. Kirkham believes Fisher is still alive: “The vehicle itself was about a quarter of a mile off an improved forest service road. It’s a fairly active area with a lot of traffic. And there are various places that one could use a phone, catch a ride, that sort of thing. He has probably started a new life under an assumed identity.” Special Agent Robert Caldwell called Fisher a loner and credited that reason to why he is difficult to track. “It’s a difficult case to work because he’s a loner,” he said. “Loners are difficult to find, but we’re going to keep pursuing all our avenues until we do find him.” Scottsdale Assistant Police Chief Scott Popp said the lengthy disappearance has been difficult to work with, but they are still diligently following leads. “(Fisher’s) associates and the people that knew most about him, their memories fade, they don’t have that contact anymore,” he said. Investigators are still getting tips about possible Fisher sightings. But the hope is that an updated image will generate even more calls, said Acting Special Agent in Charge Justin Tolomeo. Caldwell said the FBI believes he is still alive. “We assume he’s alive somewhere, and any tip we get we will follow, whether it’s in this country, or outside,” he said. Fisher is considered to be armed and dangerous, in possession of several weapons. One characteristic feature is that Fisher had a “noticeable” gold crown on his upper left tooth at the time of the murders, according to the press release, and walked with an “exaggerated posture.” Due to back injuries. He also has a scar on his back. Mary’s sister, Myrna, believes that Robert is alive: “If Robert wanted to kill himself, he would have done it when he killed Mary, Brittney and Bobby, that’s my belief. So I do believe Robert is alive.” Robert Fisher has been indicted for the murders of his wife and children. Robert’s sister, Jean, is left to wonder what became of her brother: “Where would he be? How could he have gotten to where he would be? He didn’t take any money with him. And he would be in so much physical pain from his back. I don’t know if he did this. I don’t know how he could be alive, knowing how much my brother loved his family.” If he is alive today, Fisher would be 57 years old. He’s six feet tall, and when he was last seen he weighed 190 pounds and wore his hair closely cropped. Investigators say he may bear little resemblance to the Robert Fisher of 2001, and the FBI has created multiple photo-illustrations that demonstrate how Fisher’s appearance might have changed. I have posted those photos on my website armchairdetective.org. While the general public opinion is that Robert Fisher is dead, the FBI is working under the theory he is very much alive. “There are several theories,” Leising says. “It is a theory that he is living off the grid. There’s theories that he’s living with someone but changed his identity, name, and background.” Mary Fisher’s family still lives in Arizona and remain involved in the investigation, Leising says. “We work these cases for the victims,” says Leising. “The FBI doesn’t forget. We’re gonna keep him on this ‘Top Ten’ list till we feel like we’ve exhausted all means to find him, or prove he’s dead.” If anyone has any information about Fisher’s whereabouts, they are encouraged to call 1-800-CALL-FBI or submit tips online at tips.fbi.gov. A reward of up to $100,000 is being offered for information leading to his arrest. This concludes another episode of the armchair detective podcast. I urge you to share this podcast episode all over social media. Robert Fisher has been on the run now for 17 years and needs to be brought to justice and sharing this episode will get us one step closer to getting this monster behind bars where he belongs. TADP Season 2 Episode 11 – The mysterious disappearance of Denise Martin Jun 29, 2018
    Show notes

The disappearance of Denise Martin Welcome to the armchair detective podcast, I’m you’re host the armchair detective. Today I will be discussing the disappearance of Denise Martin. This is a recent disappearance that was brought to my attention from Kirsten, a follow of the armchair detective facebook group. Thanks for the suggestion Kirsten, if anyone else has suggestions on cases you would like me to feature on my podcast, please let me know. I absolutely want my audience to be part of this podcast so if you have suggestions, or if you would like to participate in an episode by co-hosting an episode about a case that is important to you, please send me an email and let me know. Also, there are a few things to look forward to in the next few months. I will have some promotional events on the podcast where I will give away promotional gifts to listeners of the podcast. I will also be putting out an e-book in the next few months which will detail my journey into true crime podcasting and will be discussing never released materials about some of my early podcast episodes. This will be posted to my website armchairdetective.org so keep a look out for this soon. Now onto our case today. In today’s episode I start by discussing the details surrounding Denise Martin’s disappearance. Then I will feature some theories from other armchair detectives from different websites on the internet and I will follow this with my own conclusions on Denise’s disappearance. Denise Martin is 22 years old. She is Caucasian with brown hair and blue eyes. She is approximately 150 lbs, and she is 5 feet 3 inches tall. She has a tattoo of a sun on her lower left shoulder area near her upper chest. She is most likely wearing black oval glasses and possibly carrying a black backpack. She is also wearing black shorts and a red or orange top at the time of her disappearance. Virginia Beach Police said Martin has been missing since about 7 or 8 a.m Tuesday June 19, 2018 . She was last seen at a home by her father in the in the 2600 block of Dunlace Way in the Red Mill section of the city. However, Martin’s best friend, Miriam Loya, said police have confirmed that a neighbor saw Martin sitting by the front yard at 8:22 a.m. Martin’s friends and family said that this is very unusual for her to disappear like this and that she has never disappears for an extended period of time before. “She left her keys, wallet, ID, phone, and car behind,” Loya said. “I know her, she would never leave her phone behind.” Loya said Martin’s boyfriend, Jordan Stroud, drove from Ohio to be with the family. Her father was the last person to interact with her before leaving for work June 19. By 9:30 a.m., Denise’s brother found her phone, keys, wallet and ID, but she wasn’t at the house. Her brother and father searched around on their own before filing a missing-person report with Virginia Beach police. Martin’s friends and family say she would never leave without telling someone. Denise’s baffling disappearance last week has prompted friends and family members to gather in her Virginia hometown to track her down. Friends and family of 22-year-old Denise Martin started leading a search party to find her. The search began at 8:30 a.m., according to a Facebook post. Volunteers are searching in wooded areas and dense vegetation. Family and friends continued to search Thursday for a 22-year-old woman who was reported missing two days earlier. People who are interested in participating in the second search party can find information on where and when to go on Loya’s Facebook page. Loya has created the facebook account, #BringDeniseHome. Jordan Stroud has also created a twitter account @jstroud97, to share information about Denise Martin’s disappearance. You can also find Stroud’s facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/Jordan.Stroud13. Just two days ago, Jordan wrote the following on his facebook page “In a few hours we will have hit one week of Denise being missing. We cannot let this die on social media until she is found. Please, continue to signal boost this. The more eyes we have watching the sooner she can be found safe. Denise, if you see this, know that I love you so much and I won’t stop until I know you’re okay.” On Denise Martin’s facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/denise.martin.315428) there is an interesting post from May 12th. Denise wrote the following quote “ It’s that time of year again! For my birthday this year, I’m asking for donations to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. I’ve chosen this nonprofit because their mission means a lot to me, and I hope you’ll consider contributing as a way to celebrate with me. Every little bit will help me reach my goal. Thank you so much for your time! Martin’s friends and extended family members – many of whom are from out of state – have used social media, a boat, a helicopter, a trained dog, two planes, and multiple volunteers, to aid their search, WVEC reported. “It’s a very stressful situation. We all feel very helpless right now – it’s the most helpless we’ve ever felt,” said Henry Smalley, one of Martin’s high school friends. Martin’s boyfriend, Jordan Stroud, who lives in Ohio, said he spoke with her until 1 a.m. the night before she disappeared. He said Martin was planning to visit him soon.“It was just a conversation that we normally would have. She gave no indication of wanting to disappear or run away,” said Stroud, who drove 9 hours to help with the search. Virginia Beach police said in an emailed statement Thursday June 21st 2018 in the afternoon that they have an active missing persons case and that detectives have been working on it since the report was taken. However they stated that there is no credible information to indicate that Martin is in danger. A group rose early Thursday June 21st 2018 to look for her. Cole Cassidy, who said he graduated from Kellam High in 2014 with Martin, said the search included up to 40 people at times. They were scouring different areas of the city, following up on tips. Martin is resourceful, so Cassidy thinks she’ll be found safe. “I don’t see the worst happening,” he said. James Conley, another friend from Kellam, said the search started about 7 a.m. It would continue until Martin is found, he added. “I just want her to be back,” Conley said. Martin had just moved back to the area and was living with her family after graduating from Longwood University, where she studied theater arts, said Hayden Schwarting, a high school friend. There are still no signs of what happened to Denise Martin, or where the 22-year-old woman, who’s been missing since Tuesday morning, may have gone to. But police, and her family are hoping on finding her safe. Authorities said Martin’s family had filed a “missing persons” report at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday June 19th 2018. Detectives have been searching late Wednesday night and early Thursday. Police said there is no evidence of a break-in at the woman’s home and, at this point, they don’t believe foul play was involved, but the detective who spoke with Martin’s family and Loya said authorities are not yet ruling out the possibility of foul play. Police said they received a lot of tips, but no leads have been developed. “If she were to run away, she would have gone to our old apartment in Farmville, Virginia. But close friends of ours have access to a spare key and have been passing by. The blinds are always shut and the lights are off,” Loya said. The two were friends and roommates at Longwood University. “She had a conversation with her dad shortly before she disappeared that morning. She planned to go to the store and check out this new theatre that she heard about,” Loya said. “She was close to her family and wanted to be with them as soon as she graduated — she couldn’t wait to move out of Farmville.” Denise had recently moved back to her parents’ home in Virginia Beach after graduating from Longwood University in Farmville, Va. The search party that had been initiated by friends and family on Thursday morning and is ongoing. Virginia Beach search crews looking for missing Longwood University graduate Denise Martin discovered a decomposed body Wednesday morning June 27th 2018 in the same Virginia Beach neighborhood from which she went missing. No information was released about the body. The Medical Examiner’s Office was called to a wooded area in the 2500 block of Edgehill Avenue, in Virginia Beach, to help identify the person and determine cause of death. The body’s gender, race or approximate age has not been released by police. The body’s condition prevented police from identifying it. The body was found less than a mile from her father’s house. At this point it is unclear if the body is that of Longwood University graduat Denise Martin. Tonya Pierce, a Virginia Beach Police Department Public Affairs Officer said the following: “Due to the heat and the weather we have had in the area, a considerable amount of rain, the infestation, there was no way to make an immediate determination of who this individual was”. Pierce also made this comment: “We don’t want anybody to assume because we have family members of whoever this individual that was located we have family members on that side and we have family members of Ms. Martin to be concerned with”. Pierce also commented: “In order for us to determine where we go in the process with the investigation at this point right now we have to determine who the decedent is in order to determine which direction to go,” said Pierce. “Once we get the Medical Examiner’s report back we will be able to have a better idea of what may have occurred.” Miriam Loya, Denise Martin’s friend took the news of the discovered body to social media: “We are aware that a body was found. There’s no confirmation that it’s Denise. I ask that over everything, everyone respect the family’s privacy and give them space. No one should be contacting them right now,” Loya stated in the Facebook post. After Denise’s disappearance, police were notified of several unconfirmed sightings of her, the police spokesperson says. It was while investigating one of those alleged sightings that the body was found. Police are handling the body’s discovery as a separate death investigation. Those who were close to Martin said there were no clues or signs leading up to her disappearance, but said their concern grows with every passing day. Denise Martin’s loved ones and friends are turning to social media to get the word out about her disappearance. They say that there is no evidence of foul play but that it is not being ruled out. The fact that she left all her personal belongings behind indicates that she intended to come back quickly. She is obviously loved and missed and we can be serve them by helping to bring Denise home. Almost 10 days have passed since Virginia Beach Police Department (VBPD) received reports that 22 year old Denise Martin had gone missing from the Virginia Beach, Redmill and Hampton Road areas. Now I’m going to discuss what some online amateur sleuths think of Denise’s disappearance. Truth Prevails said the following on Websleuths: “One of her friends made a comment asking anyone who has any information about her whereabouts to contact him directly because her parents are pretty stressed out? That could suggest that she was arguing with her parents, maybe? Yikes. I hope she comes home soon–it’s been more than 24 hours now. No phone; no wallet; no vehicle.”I don’t agree with this comment. If you look at Denise’s friend Miriam Loya’s facebook comment, it’s very similar. I can’t begin to imagine the kind of stress parent’s and siblings of a missing loved one would feel, especially this early on in their loved one’s disappearance. Wendy44 said the following on Websleuths: “She is a friend of my daughter. She may have been carrying a green backpack and/or a brown purse and wearing black tennis shoes. Praying they find her safe.” Wendy44 also said the following on Websleuths: “I’m not sure why her dad hasn’t made a statement, but her mom passed away in 2016.” This comment actually makes me feel more for her father. Imagine loosing your spouse and two years later your child goes missing. I can understand why her father hasn’t made a statement. We don’t know what happened between Denise and her father hours and days before she disappeared. Imagine if they had a fight and then she goes missing. That would be very difficult on anyone let alone a parent. Wendy44 also wrote the following: “I’m not sure what’s okay to post as I’m not a verified insider. No problems with her boyfriend–he’s a fantastic kid who drove down from his summer internship in Ohio to look for her. He’s tweeting updates under #BringDeniseHome. It’s definitely out of character. I’m hoping she just needed some time alone and decided to hike out to the beach and didn’t bring her phone because she didn’t want to be tracked.” I agree completely with her comment here. Denise’s boyfriend Jordan was in Ohio at the time she disappeared. I don’t think there should be any cloud of suspicion on Jordan in regards to her disappearance, and I hope people aren’t putting suspicious comments out there. Whitelilac wrote the following on Websleuths: “A FB friend posted that “we can’t find her glasses. so she’s probably wearing them…”Denise appears to have lots of friends who are worried….a lot have her missing poster as their profile.Much hope there’s an explanation and that this lovely young woman is found safely…” This is an interesting fact that I haven’t found in any of the articles about Denise’s disappearance. So clearly she was probably wearing her glasses if they can’t find them. Creepcrusher wrote the following on Websleuths: “I hope she knows she’s got a lot of people that care about her. I’m really impressed by how her friends have come together and gotten the word out so quickly.” I completely agree with this comment. I am really impressed how Denise’s family and friends stepped up immediately and searched for their missing loved one. I was also impressed by how quickly her father and brother reported her missing and how quickly the Virginia Beach police responded the missing person case. I’ve looked into many cases of missing persons, and usually the police doesn’t get involved this quickly. The only other case I can think of where police got involved this quickly was the case of Jennifer Kesse, so kudos to the Virginia Beach police department! Thedebut said the following on Websleuths: “I love their use of other SM platforms to spread the word in addition to Facebook and the news. Where exactly was she last seen at 7am? It gives an area but not a specific location – home, work, school, friends house?”Denise was last seen on Dunlace Way in Virginia Beach but yeah, I totally agree with this comment. I’m very impressed at the way her family and friends have been using social media to spread the news about her disappearance. Creepcrusher said the following on websleuths: “This is just worrisome. You don’t typically see a 22 year old classified as a runaway. I don’t think she ran away. Her friends obviously knew something was wrong very quickly. What does it take for LE to knock on the door of every sex offender in the area? Many of these close by SO’s are rapists. I hate to go there, but it just doesn’t look good at all IMO.” Now I agree with this comment and it seems very logical. While I’m not in law enforcement, I would think this is something that law enforcement would look at. Typically, they look at family and people close to the missing person, then they consider locally know offenders. They also rely on the public’s help and tips, which is why we need to share information over social media to spread awareness. Someone out there knows something. Creepcrusher also said the following: “Maybe they got her on surveillance somewhere. She took a brown bag but didn’t take her ID, credit cards, or money?” Now I’m not from the Virginia Bea…

TADP Season 2 Episode 10 – The mysterious disappearance of Brookelyn Farthing Jun 24, 2018
    Show notes

The mysterious disappearance of Brookelyn Farthing Today’s podcast episode will focus on the disappearance of Brookelyn Farthing. I went on http://www.findbrookefarthing.com website and read the following from Brookelyn’s sister: “My sister Brooke was a spunky, tell you how it is, loveable person. She loved animals and the outdoors. But she was a true girly girl, who loved pink and camouflage. She would do anything to help anyone. She had the sweetest deep long country sounding voice you can only find in Kentucky. Not a day goes by I don’t wonder about her.” My entire goal with my podcast is to help the grieving families of missing loved ones, which is why I always encourage people to share the episodes over social media. The more we raise awareness the closer we get to getting answers for those grieving loved ones. Brookelyn has been missing from Berea, Kentucky since 06/22/2013. At the time of her disappearance, Brooke was 18 years old and today would be 23 years old. She is described as being 5 feet one inches tall, she is a caucasian female with Blonde hair and brown eyes. Brookelyn’s nickname is Brooke. She has pierced ears and a birthmark on her left hip. At the time of her disappearance Brook was wearing A gray t-shirt with the Madison County FFA (Future Farmers of America) logo and light blue denim shorts. Brookelyn was last seen at a friend’s house in the 100 block of Dillon Court in Berea, a small city located about 40 miles south of Lexington Kentucky in the early morning hours of June 22, 2013. She had attended a party the night before with her sister, a cousin and some friends. Eventually, most of the others left, and Brookelyn stayed behind at the party. She had a friend there who was going to give her a ride home, but the two females argued and Brookelyn’s friend left without her. She sent multiple text messages overnight trying to get a ride home, saying she felt scared. She wanted her ex-fiance to pick her up, but he didn’t get off work until later in the morning. The last text from her phone was sent at 5:30 a.m., saying “Never mind, I’m okay. I’m going to a party in Rockcastle County.” Randall Walker, Brooke’s step father said the following to the huffington post: “She started texting people to pick her up and give her a ride home,” Walker told HuffPost. “She was texting her ex-fiance — they were separated but still friends. He was at work and she texted him that he needed to come get her when he got off work. At 4:26 that morning, she texted him to hurry ‘because I’m scared.'” “Another friend of hers was drunk and needed to get home,” Walker said. “A gentleman known to Brookelyn’s ex-fiance was at the party and he offered her his vehicle to give the boy a ride home.” The huffington post article continues to say : From what information Walker has been able to gather from investigators, Farthing purportedly drove her friend home in the man’s vehicle and then had to bring the vehicle back to the man’s house — a home with no electricity that was in foreclosure. It was not long after Farthing arrived at the man’s home that she started to text friends about needing a ride. “There was another text was sent from Brookelyn’s phone at 5:30 a.m., an hour before her ex-fiance was to get off work and come pick her up. The text said, ‘Never mind, I’m okay. I’m going to a party in Rockcastle County,'” Walker said. “I do not believe that was a text from Brookelyn,” he continued. “I think something had already happened between the time she sent the text [in which she said] that she was afraid and that text. She had plans for the next day and would not have gone off to another party,” Walker said. The huffington post article continues by saying the following: At about 7 a.m., the owner of the home Farthing was visiting called the fire department and reported a blaze inside the home. The fire was extinguished before it got out of control, leaving a burned couch and a hole in the floor, police said. Farthing was not inside the home when firefighters arrived on the scene. The homeowner allegedly told police that he had to leave and take care of a horse that morning. According to police, he said that, when he left, Farthing was sitting on the couch smoking. When he returned, she was gone and the couch was on fire. Walker said something about the fire doesn’t add up. “I don’t believe Brookelyn set that fire,” he said. “I think the fire was set to throw people off.” The article goes on to say: Trooper Robert Purdy, a Kentucky State Police spokesperson, said the fire plays a key role in the investigation into Farthing’s disappearance, but did not elaborate. “The fire is a pretty integral detail in that investigation,” he told HuffPost. Aside from the texts and the fire, Walker said he finds it disturbing that some of his stepdaughter’s belongings were found inside the home. “She would dress up and she always made sure she had everything with her. She wanted to look good at all times,” he said. “When Brookelyn went missing from that house, all her stuff — her cowboy boots and her dress clothes — was still there. Everything except her phone and the clothes she had on. She would not have left her clothes behind, so I know something happened there at that house.” The owner of the home where Farthing was last seen did not respond to a request for comment from HuffPost. Authorities contacted Farthing’s cell phone carrier and determined it last pinged on a tower in nearby Blue Lick, about 30 miles from where Farthing was last seen. The phone has not been turned on since. According to the state police, authorities have searched more than 16,000 acres in three counties for the missing teen. They have scoured the land with cadaver dogs and searched bodies of water. Investigators have not said what, if anything, they have found during the searches. What we’re doing is, we’re following up on any and all possible leads,” Purdy said. “Things are coming in every single day. It’s a widespread search. Everywhere that we had information she could be has been searched already.” Authorities have not named any suspects or persons of interest in Farthing’s disappearance. “I can’t release [the names of] any particular suspect or individual,” Purdy said. “We’ve followed up on any and all individuals that could have been involved.” Walker, who Farthing has known since she was 4, said her family had to mark the first milestone without her Monday — her 19th birthday. “It’s hard for the whole family,” he said. “She is an outgoing girl — an outdoors[y] girl and a tomboy in a way. She goes fishing and hunting, but when she wants to be a girlie girl, she is.” “We have no idea what has happened at all. I just know [authorities] are chasing leads and have an idea of what happened, but will not tell the family. I perceive that as something bad.” Brookelyn Farthing is described as a white female, between 5 feet 1 inch and 5 feet 3 inches tall, with blonde hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a gray Madison County FFA T-shirt and denim shorts. “We hold out hope that she’s coming back and we’re going to continue to hold out hope until we find out otherwise. Please keep us in your prayers,” said Walker. Brookelyn’s friend who owned the house left to take care of a horse. When he left, he said, she was sitting on the couch smoking. When he returned at 7:00 a.m., the house was on fire and Brookelyn was missing, but her cowboy boots, purse and some clothes were still there. The only item missing was her cellular phone. She has never been heard from again and an extensive search of the area turned up no sign of her. The house fire began on the couch and almost completely consumed it, and burned a hole in the floor underneath, but it was extinguished before it got out of control. It was ruled suspicious. The homeowner was in the process of moving out, and as a result, utilities to the house had been turned off for weeks and there was no electricity there at all. Investigators believe Brookelyn may have been taken against her will, and they think the last text message sent from her phone actually was sent by someone else. Brookelyn is a graduate of Madison Southern High School. Her family doesn’t believe she would have left the house without her belongings and they stated she had no reason to walk out of her life. Her case remains unsolved. Now the following was taken from brookefarthing.com: “Since Brooke has gone missing I’ve learned many details about the evening and early morning hours leading up to her disappearance. After attending Papaw’s birthday celebration Brooke, Paige and our cousin went to a birthday party off Red Lick Road. Paige and our cousin decided to leave shortly after dropping Brooke off. Brooke had taken her belongings with her to spend the evening with a close friend; however those plans fell through after arriving at the party. Once the party ended Brooke caught a ride with a guy she knew. In the early morning hours Brooke spoke with Paige by phone and told her she would be home once a friend got off work and could give her a ride. Brooke sent several text messages making plans for the next day. She also sent messages about feeling unsafe where she was at.” “Brooke never came home that morning and has not been heard from since. The guy she caught a ride when leaving the party reported a house fire at his residence early Saturday morning. Brooke’s personal belongings were later located at the residence however she was no where to be found. My sister had no reason to runaway. She made arrangements to get a ride home and had plans to spend the day on Saturday with a friend.” “Since Brooke’s disappearance the community we call home has showed us nothing short of amazing support. We have hung flyers, pleaded to the public, and held numerous fundraisers. The Kentucky State Police in Richmond along with the assistance of others have searched thousands of acres and followed up on numerous leads. If you or someone you know has any information that could assist us in finding Brooke please call the Kentucky State Police in Richmond.” Now I have my questions about many points in this case, but before I talk about them, I want to share something else. Bill Warner, a PI from Skip Tracing believes that there is a connection between Brooke’s disappearance and several other disappearances and murders of young women in the Kentucky and surrounding areas are possibly related. Now I had a hard time getting into Bill’s blog since it’s no longer on the internet. I had to use the internet database to track it down. Now here’s a comment from Bill’s blog: “ Multiple petite blond females have gone missing and/or kidnapped with several murdered and cops have no clues, no suspects, the girls just vanished without a trace, where are the FBI profilers. Who is responsible for seventeen white, very pretty, petite look-a-like females with long blond hair who have been listed as missing, kidnapped or unfortunately murdered over the last few years all over the mid-west and the south? Serial killer Ted Bundy killed more than 100 women nationwide his lawyer has revealed. In a new book John Henry Browne says that the rapist, kidnapper and serial killer Ted Bundy preyed on pretty young petite look-a-like females with long brown hair nationwide from Seattle WA to the Florida State University (FSU) campus Tallahassee Fl. Is this a Ted Bundy copy cat, ‘Deja vu all over again’?” He also mentions the following in his blog: “17 Petite Blond Females Listed as Missing, Kidnapped or Murdered and Cops Have No Answers for Parents of Heather, Kelli, Paige, Holly, Lauren, and 12 Others. All times listed above are approximate the dates used are when someone had last known contact with the ‘missing female’. Cops Seek Killer After Remains Of Missing Katelyn Markham Found April 7th, 2013 Near Creek In Cedar Grove Indiana, Katelyn Last Seen In Fairfield Ohio. It is 32 miles from Fairfield Ohio to Cedar Grove Indiana, see map click here.Katelyn Markham’s skull was found in a brown grocery bag other bone fragments were scattered around the creek. Morgan Harrington victim #13 and victim #16 are linked by DNA. Karen Swift, Morgan Harrington and Misty Gwinner were abducted, raped and murdered, their bodies were all found in open areas, (dumped), there was no attempt to bury the bodies, there is no known match to DNA found to anyone in the CODIS DNA databases.” His blog also mentioned the following: “Sarasota Private Eye Kayla Sharrow Looks Into The Investigation of Multiple Missing Petite Blond Females Like Holly Bobo and Heather Hodges. In August I was invited to Atlanta GA by CNN Headline News and Jane Velez Mitchell to participate in the ongoing investigator of multiple missing petite blond females like Holly Bobo and Heather Hodges by what appears to be a serial abductor. These missing petite blond females appear to have been kidnapped by a serial abductor and this premise will be the subject of CNN Headline News and Jane Velez Mitchell new series called ‘GONE’.” Now I also want to discuss some of the opinions of other armchair detectives: Mouse wrote the following on websleuths on June 29th 2013: Also, some of the news articles have mentioned that her personal belongings (purse and suitcases) were left behind in the Dillon Court house. But nothing has really said why she’d have suitcases there. A purse I understand, but suitcases? Personally, at 18 years old, I would not have wanted to stay in a house with no electricity during a humid KY summer. (Wouldn’t want to do that now, either–my hair frizzes just thinking about it.) Had she moved out of her folks’ house and into the Dillon Court house because of a conflict with her parents? Or was she getting ready to travel somewhere for a post-graduation trip? I’m assuming the suitcases were packed, since there’s been mention of “leaving her belongings behind”…but maybe they were empty, and she was just lending them to the house owner to use as he moved out? (Although if that’s the case, why bring up the suitcases at all?) Her social media pages (especially the Pinterest page) have a whole lot about wedding and baby stuff, as if she’d been counting on marriage and starting a family in the very near future, as the next step after graduating from HS. And none of the news articles or FB postings have mentioned anything about any plans for college (as in, “We don’t think she would have run away, because she was excited about starting at EKU in the fall,” etc.), or starting a new job. If her long-term relationship had recently broken up–and with it, her “next step” plans–I wonder if she could have been feeling directionless, and maybe decided to just get away and figure out what to do next. I don’t think that’s what happened, unfortunately (especially without her purse and suitcases), but I hope that it is. AnnieOakley from websleuths wrote the following: So, from Jwpmoyer’s first post, the news story says: “The 18-year-old’s been missing ever since Saturday morning. Police say she was at the home in Berea with another man. They say he told them he left for a bit, then came back and found the fire burning, Farthing gone, but several personal items left behind.” It’s from this one: (http://www.wkyt.com/news/headlines/…-County-teenager-212757781.html?device=tablet) Anyway, I find the word “another” to be interesting. Do they mean a man other than the homeowner? If so, was this person a friend of hers, or homeowners? Also odd to me is that they say he left “for a bit”…. I wonder how long he was gone and where he went. And can they verify it? Oop I was posting at the same time as Alisha8191- sounds like maybe the reporter was just using loose language there. They prob meant another person, meaning the homeowner… Now advocate1 wrote the following on websleuths: Does anyone have a link where KSP or some official say the cause of the fire was a cigarette? I have been looking and I just keep finding qoutes from officials…

TADP Season 2 Episode 9 – The mysterious disappearance of Brian Shaffer Jun 22, 2018
    Show notes

The mysterious disappearance of Brian Shaffer: Brian Shaffer on February 25th 1979. He was a medical student at the Ohio State University at the time of his disappearance. At the time of his disappearance, Brian was 27 years old and today he would be 39 years old. Brian is described as 6 feet two inches tall and weighing about 165 lbs. At the time of his disappearance, he was wearing an olive green short-sleeved polo shirt over a white long-sleeved shirt, blue jeans, white Adidas sneakers and a yellow rubber cancer awareness bracelet. Brian is a Caucasian male with Light brown hair and hazel eyes. Shaffer has a tattoo of a Pearl Jam symbol on his upper right arm; I have included a copy of the photo on my website. He also wears wire-framed eyeglasses. Shaffer has a black spot on his left iris. Shaffer grew up in Pickerington, Ohio, a suburb of Columbus, the state capital, where The Ohio State University (OSU) is located, the older of Randy and Renee Shaffer’s two sons. He graduated from the local high school in 1997 and went to OSU for his undergraduate work. Six years later he graduated with a degree in microbiology. Following that, he began studies at Ohio State University College of Medicine in 2004. During his second year there, in March 2006, his mother Renee died of myelodysplasia. His friends say that although he appeared to be handling it well, her death was hard for him. Renee was not the only woman important in Brian’s life. He had become romantically involved with a fellow second-year medical student, Alexis Waggoner. She, along with their families and friends, believed that Brian would probably be proposing marriage to her later that year, most likely on a trip to Miami the couple had planned for spring break at the beginning of April. On March 31, a Friday, classes at OSU ended for spring break the next week. Brian and Randy Shaffer, his father, celebrated the occasion by going out for a steak dinner together earlier that evening. The older man noted that his son seemed exhausted from having pulled all-nighters earlier in the week cramming for some important upcoming exams. He did not think Brian should go out with a friend, William “Clint” Florence, later that night as he planned to do, but did not express his reservations to his son. At 9 p.m., Brian met Florence at the Ugly Tuna Saloona, a bar in the South Campus Gateway complex on High Street. An hour later, Brian called Waggoner, who had returned to her home in Toledo to visit with her family before the two went to Miami, and told her he loved her. He and Florence went bar-hopping, visiting several other drinking establishments and working their way down to the Arena District. At each stop the two had one shot each of hard liquor, according to Florence. After midnight, the two met Meredith Reed, a friend of Florence, in The Short North. She gave them a ride back to the Ugly Tuna Saloona, where they had started the night, and joined them there for a last round. While the three were there, Brian separated from his companions. Florence and Reed had been trying to find him, repeatedly calling him. They left with other patrons when the bar closed at 2 a.m., waiting outside for Brian. When he was not among the departing crowd, they assumed he had gone back to his apartment without letting them know. Waggoner and Randy Shaffer both tried to call Brian later that weekend but he did not answer. On Monday morning he missed the flight to Miami he and Waggoner had scheduled long before. He was reported missing to the Columbus police. Now Brian Shaffer was last seen at the Ugly Tuna Saloona, which at the time was a bar near the Ohio State University (OSU) campus, between the hours of 1:30 a.m. and 2:00 a.m. on April 1, 2006. He had gone there to celebrate the beginning of spring break with several male friends, and drank several shots of hard liquor. Brian was last seen having a conversation with two college-age women inside the bar. Brian has never been heard from again. Security cameras at the bar show him entering the establishment, but not leaving it. Brian’s vehicle was located in the parking lot of his apartment, which is near the Ugly Tuna Saloona, after his disappearance. He did not have any of his personal belongings at the time of his disappearance, and his cellular phone, credit cards and bank accounts have not been used since he went missing. Brian’s family and loved ones describe his disappearance as highly unusual. He was a second-year medical student at OSU at the time of his disappearance, and by all accounts was a great student and made excellent grades. He and his girlfriend, also a medical student, were planning to go on a vacation in Miami, Florida for spring break and were scheduled to fly there on April 3, two days after his disappearance. His family reported him missing after he missed the flight. From all accounts, Brian was in love with his girlfriend at the time and reportedly he was planning on marrying her. Three weeks prior to Brian’s disappearance, his mother succumbed to cancer. Brian was very close to his mother and had been mourning her passing, but his family and friends stated he was not visibly depressed or suicidal. In May 2006, there was a break in at Brian’s apartment. The burglary turned out to be unrelated to his disappearance. Brian’s father looked in the Olentangy River for his son’s remains after his disappearance, but turned up no evidence. His father was killed in a freak accident in September 2008. Brian’s only surviving relative is his younger brother. Authorities do not believe Shaffer left of his own accord, but it is unclear what caused his disappearance. He graduated Pickerington High School in 1997 and got a bachelor’s degree in microbiology from OSU in 2003. Shaffer’s case remains unsolved. Shaffer’s father, Randy, and his girlfriend, Alexis Waggoner, became the early faces of the search for Brian. His picture was broadcast on the evening news and stapled to utility poles. Theories abounded. Some theorized that due to the strain from medical school and the passing of his mother due to cancer, that Brian took his own life. It was also theorized that perhaps he fell victim to an accident or crime. The other theory is that perhaps he invented a new life as a result of all the stress he was feeling. It’s also possible he had a nervous breakdown or even suffers from amnesia and doesn’t know his own identify. There’s many theories in this case, and I will look into what other websleuths think later. The tips began slowing down over the years, and Brian Shaffer’s missing-person case grew cold. The mystery was followed by a major tragedy when Brian’s father, Randy Shaffer, was killed by a falling limb while assessing storm damage outside his home in 2008. And now the bar where his Brian Shaffer was last seen has now closed. “Anytime the name Ugly Tuna comes up … that’s the first thing that pops into my head,” Columbus police Sgt. John Hurst said to the Columbus dispatch. John Hurst was the supervisor of the missing-persons unit in 2006, and worked with detectives as they chased leads, and also reviewed videotape and interviewed witnesses. He has since moved on to another unit, but he and detective Andre Edwards still take the lead whenever tips come in on the Shaffer. Hurst keeps the details of their working theories under wraps but said Wednesday that “everything is still on the table.” “We haven’t ruled out foul play, just like we haven’t ruled out that he just took off,” Hurst said. The last location where police were able to place Shaffer was at the top of the escalator leading to the bar, and some online amateur sleuths still hold the theory that he never left the building, which was partly under construction. Hurst, though, debunked that idea. “We searched every nook and cranny” of the building, including with cadaver dogs, he said. Hurst is set to retire soon. “I think at some point, everything will come together,” he said. “It’s like a puzzle. We put pieces in, and we have to work at getting them to fit.” In a puzzle such as this, a bar’s closing is secondary. Brian’s classmates graduate and part ways and begin their lives. They get older, and perhaps a little, But in the back of their minds, the lingering thought remains. What happened to that missing Ohio State University Student Brian Shaffer? On findbrianshaffer.com they mention the following “Conversations have been had with the two girls who were outside the bar speaking with Brian but they were not able to provide any additional information to help locate Brian. At one point, the police were looking for an individual seen on the escalator (the man with the orange sweater) – this has been ruled out and not considered linked to Brian’s case.” It is also mentioned on the website findbrianshaffer.com the following “Years later, there are still no answers. Numerous searches have been conducted including the construction area by the Ugly Tuna Saloona, numerous locations close to his disappearance including help from Texas Equusearch and numerous search agencies in the Ohio area but to no avail.” Now I’m going to review some theories from other armchair detectives on websites like websleuth and reddit. Jodierenee said the following on websleuths on April 5 2006: Psychics searched Brian Shaffer’s apartment on Tuesday evening. “When I saw his picture (Monday) night, I immediately tuned into him and felt that he’d been drinking too much over the weekend. He’s gone through a recent tragedy. His mother’s passed away. I think he was just a little too drunk to really make it home safely,” psychic Bill Mitchell said. Psychics said they had visions inside the apartment. “I feel positive that he’s alive, but I feel there has been injury. I keep feeling impact in my abdomen,” psychic Marc Moody said. Columbus police thought they might have had a break in the case with a surveillance video taken early Saturday morning outside of the Ugly Tuna Saloona, where Brian Shaffer was last seen. They thought a man seen on the video getting onto an escalator outside of the bar, followed by two men in black shirts, was Brian Shaffer. Late Tuesday, however, police determined that the man was not Brian Shaffer after blowing up the video and showing it to family and friends. *For me personally, I don’t put much impact into what psychics have to say, but that’s just my own opinion. Now user Dex on websleuth said the following: Without sounding odd, something bothers me about that area. I found another osu man from 2002 that was found near old state road. Assuming the 3 men that were convicted were the only ones involved OK. however, looking at this case, his case, and luzio case, i plotted the locations on google’s 3d map and noticed a triangle. I highly doubt their related, but thats how I keep track of what im currently looking at. The case from 02 seems less likely to connect to these two, but it was drug related. I found one internet site with “hearsay/rumor” insinuating that Tony was involved with meth somehow. Which is an AWFUL drug that can completely change a person. I lost my bestfriend of 12 + years to it. She stopped caring about people caring about her, and stopped talking to anyone who didn’t do it with her. I contacted crimestoppers with the information I found on Tony including a description of an image I found on satellite that looks like a car a couple of days ago. I was shocked to find another website where supposedly Tony’s bestfriend asked a psychic where tony was after I submitted my info to pd. It made the hairs on my neck stand up. I’ve showed many people the same imagine and most agree, it looks like a car in the river with water flowing around it.http://www.cleveland.com/psychic/index.ssf?/living/more/psychic/archive/090205a.html I did receive an email back from an investigator, however they didn’t ask about the image. I hope and pray that for his parents sake, im blind and seeing things and that psychic is wrong. I watched the same satellite image for weeks, and it did change, but the object I saw is still there. I even scanned the river looking for possible drop sites where someone could have either ditched a car into it, or drove off accidentally. All I know is I can’t wait til it gets warm, if its still there by summer Im thinking about renting a boat and going swimming. Another thing that bothers me is a man they found here months ago was last seen in delaware, while he lived 50 miles ne, he was found dead in the woods, drug related. The man who shot him, shot him for witnessing ANOTHER crime a week prior in delaware county…..the man in 02 was also an osu student killed by a hired gunmen shot in the head. I looked up the 3 men convicted. All got life except one man got 6 years I believe. It just makes me wonder if one of those was the “main guy” or just his little dealers. The man in 02 was found not even 15 minutes from Luzio’s last appearance. The man in this post was last seen 23 minutes from the same area….is it just a coincidence or is it possible that I may be onto something. I watched a show on meth a couple of weeks ago, and it angered me because LE was talking about “what if it made it to the east coast” WHERE HAVE THEY BEEN? It’s been here in my town since about 2000. That Im aware of. The funniest thing about it, is you would think that you can tell. They hide it very well. My bestfriend hid it for a year, then I found out the guy she was living with was cooking it, and he was busted. I hope they find Brian, and I hope its not in the same situation as the two above. Hopefully he just needed some time to think. But I would bet $20 he met someone the night he left the bar. Its crossed my mind that possibly Tony met his fate by someone finding out that his father was a cop and maybe he witnessed a deal or something. I hope the info I gave the pd will help to answer some questions. Also, I found this reddit post by u/Sober_junkies which was on the /r/UnsolvedMysteries subreddit. He has quite a lot of information on the case so I added the link in my description which can be found on my website. All credit goes directly to u/Sober_junkies for the great work he/she did. One thing I found interesting is the timeline that was put together. Timeline of night of March 31st, 2006: 9:30 pm – Brian meets Clint at Ugly Tuna Saloona. 9:56 pm – Brian calls Alexis Waggoner(GF) tells her he loves her. 10 pm-12 am – They start bar hopping in the “Arena District” of Columbus, Ohio. Around 12:30 am – They meet up with Clint’s friend Meredith Reed and then she drives them back to the Ugly Tuna Saloona. 1:15 am – Brian, Clint, and Meredith can be seen on video footage going up the escalator and entering the Ugly Tuna Saloona. 1:50 am – Video footage captures Brian outside the bar talking to two girls. 1:55 am – Clint claims he saw Brian back inside the bar but lost track of him. 2 am – Bar starts closing so Meredith and Clint start looking for Brian so they can leave. 2:10 am – Meredith and Clint can’t find Brian anywhere in the bar so they assume he walked home. 2:15 am – Clint and Meredith are seen on video footage leaving the bar. Security footage shows Brian entering the Ugly Tuna Saloona that night but never shows him exiting. Every other person who entered the Ugly Tuna that night was seen on the security footage leaving the bar except Brian. I’ve seen many news stories and blogs claiming that the footage “clearly shows” Brian walking back inside the bar after talking to the women. If you watch the video you can see Brian moving off-camera in the direction of the door to the bar, apparently to re-enter but you can’t see if he actually does, leaving some room for doubt. It only shows that Brian was last seen on video at the top of the escalator outside the bar at 1:50 am talking to two women. Clint Florence later told police he had seen Brian after he came back inside and said they were planning to leave but he then lost track of him. Anot…

TADP Season 2 Episode 8 – The disappearance of Richard Petrone and Danielle Imbo Jun 14, 2018
    Show notes

Richard Petrone Jr. and his friend, Danielle (Ottobre) Imbo, were last seen around 11:45 pm on Saturday, Feb. 19, 2005 leaving Abilene’s bar at 429 South Street in Philadelphia, where they met with some friends. They were heading for Richard’s 2001 black Dodge Dakota pickup truck, PA license plate # YFH-2319 parked in the neighborhood. Richard, Danielle, or the truck haven’t been seen since and there have been no traces or clues as to their whereabouts. They planned to spend the night at Danielle’s house in Mount Laurel, New Jersey. The next day, Richard was to come back to his apartment on Snyder Avenue near 16th Street in South Philadelphia to watch the Daytona 500. No one knows if the couple ever made it to Danielle’s house Saturday night. Richard was 35 years old, 5 feet 9 inches tall, 200 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes. He had an “Angela” tattoo on his left arm and clowns on his right arm. Richard was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, jeans, and sneakers. Danielle was 5 feet 5 inches tall, 117 pounds, with hazel eyes, fair skin and brown hair. She had a tattoo of flowers on her lower back. She was wearing a black jacket, cream-colored sweater and blue jeans. Richard worked with his father at Viking Pastries, the family-owned bakery in Ardmore, PA. He had been working there since he graduated high school . He used to live in Ardmore but moved to South Philadelphia to be near Angela, his then 14 year-old daughter. Danielle on the other hand had a 1 1/2 year old son. Both Richard and Danielle knew each other since they were 15 years old. Petrone and his girlfriend, Danielle Imbo, were last seen at Abilene’s (sometime’s spelled “Abeline’s” or “Abiline’s”), a bar and restaurant in the 400 block of South Street Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on February 19, 2005. They had drinks with friends at the establishment before leaving between 11:30 and 11:45 p.m.; they stated they were going to Imbo’s home in Mount Laurel, New Jersey. Neither of them have been heard from again. Their friends stated that both of them behaved normally and seemed happy that evening. Petrone’s vehicle is also missing: it’s a black and silver four-door 2001 Dodge Dakota or Dodge Ram pickup truck with the Pennsylvania license plate number YFH2319 and possibly a NASCAR #99 sticker in the rear window. Photographs of the truck and license plate are posted with this case summary. Neither Imbo nor Petrone have accessed their bank accounts or used their credit cards or EZ-Pass cards since they went missing. Their cellular phones have stayed turned off. Petrone and Imbo have one child each; Imbo has a toddler son and Petrone has a teenage daughter. Their loved ones stated they would never have voluntarily abandoned their families, whom they were close to. The couple knew each other in high school and began dating ten months before their disappearances after they separated from their respective partners. Both Petrone, then 35, and Imbo, then 34, were described as dedicated parents with nothing in their lifestyle that would suggest they could be targets of foul play. Authorities have questioned associates of both people. Petrone and Imbo’s estranged husband had allegedly exchanged threats with one another over the telephone and Imbo had made multiple failed attempts to reconcile with her husband, who was involved with another woman. Shortly before she disappeared, Imbo told her husband and Petrone that she wanted “space” from both of them; she was reportedly considering ending her relationship with Petrone altogether. Their loved ones believe foul play was involved in their cases, and both families have accused members of the other family of causing their disappearances. Investigators stated that very little evidence is available to indicate what happened to Petrone and Imbo, but they have ruled out kidnapping and think a random act of violence is also unlikely. Their disappearances are being investigated as a double homicide, possibly a murder-for-hire. Imbo lived on Dunbarton Road in Mount Laurel in southern New Jersey in 2005; Petrone lived in South Philadelphia. Both New Jersey and Pennsylvania authorities are investigating their disappearances, which remain unsolved. Imbo was employed as a loan processor for a mortgage company at the time of her disappearance, working out of her home. There is a $50,000 reward for information leading to them or information leading to an arrest of whoever is responsible for their disappearance. The FBI says their disappearance was no accident, and not a crime of opportunity. They say Petrone and Imbo were the victims of a professional hit job at the hands of more than one person. Christian Zajac of the FBI said the following “ This didn’t just happen. We feel this was an orchestrated act. A 3,000 pound truck and two people do not simply go missing” The FBI has questioned Imbo’s estranged husband, Joe Imbo, many times. Just days before he vanished, Richard Petrone told his father he had angry words with Joe Imbo over the phone. Richard Petrone Sr stated the following to Action News “He said “I got, like, 25 or 30 phone calls from this kid.’ I said, ‘What did he want?'”. “‘He kept telling me ‘stay away from her, leave her alone, he’s her husband.” Joseph Imbo has never been named as a possible suspect, but he hasn’t been ruled out either. Leads, according to investigators, have come in from all over America, but not one has panned out. Searches of land and water have been conducted over the years, but nothing has come of them. Now i’d like to review some posts from online armchair detectives and their opinions on the disappearance of Richard Petrone and Danielle Imbo. Originaljerseygirl wrote the following on websleuths on March 7th 2005: “Even though there are different ways to get from Philly to S. Jersey, the only ones I can think of don’t pose that much of a danger, IMO. The entire highway area from Philly to S. Jersey is pretty developed & very heavily traveled so I’m not sure that that would be likely. From the bar on South Street, they probably would have taken the Ben Franklin Bridge or maybe traveled I-95 North, connecting with the Betsy Ross Bridge. Actually, I don’t know that the Walt Whitman Bridge is all that far either and I’m not familiar with that route at all. But the first two bridges I mentioned don’t seem to pose much of a ‘driving off the road’ danger, and even if they did, I think someone would have spotted them by now.” I found this interesting because it comes from someone who is familiar with the area. She also later stated the following: “Do you think it could have been a carjacking? If they would’ve taken the Walt Whitman, wouldn’t that bring them to a really confusing bunch of roads? I can’t remember, it’s been so long. I worry that perhaps they got onto a road that hooked up with 5 other roads, and they took the wrong one, finding themselves in the middle of Camden. I’m not saying that people in Camden are all bad, not at all. But the crime rate, as you know, is very high. And it seems like there have been a lot of car-jackings lately. Hmmm … there’s been a car-jacking story on the news over the past couple of days. I believe they said it was an older man driving his car. He was carjacked outside of an office building at Fellowship Road & forced to drive to an ATM. After that, they made him drive one of the highways here, (don’t remember which), and had him get off at a specific exit. They made him get out of the car, and then they shot him. I believe that the news said that he’s still in the hospital so this has to have been somewhat recent. So guess where all this happened? Here in Mt. Laurel. This is where Danielle also lives. Is it possible that they could even been car-jacked HERE in Mt. Laurel on their way to her house by these same guys? I hope Philly & Mt. Laurel police check it out. There are sketches of the suspects so hopefully they will catch them, and not find out that they harmed this couple as well. Since these events happened so close together, and one happened in Mt. Laurel, and the other is a woman who lives in Mt. Laurel, I wonder if there might be a connection?” I also found this comment interesting, as I was not aware of this nor was it mentioned in the articles I read. A car jacking is possible since according to the Disappeared episode on ID there was a lot of car theft rings in the area at the time. They would steal the vehicles and use the vehicles for parts that they would then sell on the black market. And Bobbiesangel said has the following theory: I wonder if they could have given someone a ride…..someone that they ran into between the bar and his truck. I never pick up hitch hikers but some people do. If some guy asked if they could give him a ride they could have run into big trouble. It’s also pretty easy to steal a license plate from another truck…remove the origional plate and put the stolen one on and drive the truck to who knows where. A person can switch license plates in different citys and probably not get caught for quite some time. I just find it strange that the truck hasn’t surfaced somewhere. My theory is probably way out there but anything is possible. Rich doesn’t sound like a violent person, the husband seems to have a air tight alibi and the couple haven’t shown up anywhere. It doesn’t sound like they would have just taken off. I sure hope they are found soon. This has to be pure hell for the families. I think this is a plausible theory. Any theory is plausible until law enforcement finds out what actually happened to them. Wenchie said the following: P.S. Ever since I’ve heard the entire story I’ve been certain that this wasn’t a random act. The only place they could have been carjacked was at South Street or on the way to the bridge – both crowded areas at that time on a Saturday night. Once you get to the bridge it’s open highway. If someone had been following them, there really aren’t any lonely stretches where they could have overtaken them. Maybe someone called them on a cell and lured them somewhere? I think this is an interesting post since it really zooms in on the areas where Richard and Danielle may have been carjacked, if that was what happened. After the bridge it’s basically highway, but I’m not sold on the fact that they even made it past the bridge…. I’ll explain a bit later. Originaljerseygirl also said the following: Weather Underground: History About 29 degrees between 10:54 and 11:54 P.M. I don’t think there would have been many people on South Street in that temperature. Now I’m assuming that’s 29 degrees Fahrenheit, so that means it was close to -2 Celsius that night, in other words below freezing temperatures. If that is the case, if, and I know this is disturbing to say but… If they were murdered and their bodies were disposed in the Delaware River, their bodies would not have floated to the surface right away. Below freezing temperatures means they would have froze and sank to the bottom of the river and have been moved by the current. Also one thing I found strange is that law enforcement and the fbi only checked the Delaware River but never checked the Schuylkill River in the opposite direction. Lets say for example that the event took place near the Abilene’s, it’s entirely possible that the people involved in their disappearance drove in the opposite direction to dispose of the bodies and the vehicle. Why would you hide the bodies in the same area where you know the victims were heading? I don’t understand why LE and the FBI haven’t checked the opposite direction and the Schuylkill River. Now Wenchie also wrote the following: I don’t believe that in the entire history of Philadelphia, there has ever been a case of someone accidently submerging their auto from one of the streets in that area. Beside the fact that none of the streets are that close – the water is so shallow that it just doesn’t seem possible. I know the Pine Barrens pretty well, and have done a lot of exploring and canoeing there. Most of the rivers are very shallow. What I’m trying to say is that if that truck is submerged, it would have had to be planned ahead of time just where that would occur, and it would have been intentional, IMO. It’s also hard to imagine a carjacking in any of the areas from South Street to the bridge at 11:30 on a Saturday night without someone seeing or hearing something. Is it true that her husband (or ex-husband) gave three different versions of where he was that night – and that he hasn’t shown much concern about her whereabouts? I don’t want to cast asperions – I’d just like to know if this is true. I find this interesting. Clearly this poster knows the area well, and knows that it would be nearly impossible for someone to drive their vehicles into the Delaware River because it is too shallow. The only way for a vehicle to be disposed of in the Delaware River would be if it was intentional and planning was involved. For example, you would need some type of way to get the vehicle deep enough for it to be completely submerged. Perhaps using a very large boat, or ferry service. I really don’t know, but clearly there are vehicles in the Delaware River. On the Disappeared episode, they discussed finding a vehicle of the same make and model and color as Richard’s vehicle, but it was later found that the license plate was not the same and the vin number didn’t match. Apparently it was someone trying to do some insurance fraud. Mysteriew wrong the following: Unfortunately there is a third scenario. As a result of ongoing problems in the relationship, this became a murder-suicide and the bodies haven’t been found yet. To be honest this is a theory that I hadn’t even considered however I find it very unlikely. How can someone commit a murder-suicide then hide a 3000 lb truck? That to me just doesn’t make any sense. Also, Richard doesn’t strike me as the type of person capable of doing something like this and they had plans to return to Danielle’s apartment. Also when he left Abilene’s he seemed fine. If he was suicidal there would have been at least some signs that his friends would have picked up on. Of course, this is just my opinion. Now user dmvpenn said the following: Firstly, as a family member, I want to say that we have heard more iterations from pshyics then I care to explain. Personally, I have a dear friend who is a very gifted medium. He said that that they are BOTH DEAD. This notion that she is alive as created a lot of insanity that I wish would stop. Secondly, Joe threathen Danielle and Rich up until the day they dissappeard. The day danielle dissppeared, Little Joe calld big Joe Rich. Joe went Bizzerk. As far as the alibi, a cover us is a cover up. And yes, we believe Joe found out Danielle was meeting Rich. And we also believe she was being followed by him or by someone else. As for his background, he has connections to some very shady people and alike. Period end of discussions. What I need is learn how to excert pressure on the febs to keep pressure. any thoughts. This seems very interesting. It’s coming from a family member who clearly has inside knowledge of the case. He wants to put pressure on the feds but doesn’t know how. That must have been so frustrating. Now dmvpenn also wrote the following: You are correct that there is no physical evidence of any kind. I am so sure by now that the car is an ashtray. And the fact that no one is coming forward to claim a 100k reward is puzzling. Indication of a randam crime or that the underground world is not snitching on each other just yet? :waitasec: I have my suspicions! I also have great concerns that the FBI and police are not further exploring the relationship between IMBO and Danielles best friend Dawn. She went out of here way to cover her ass for being with Danielle two consective nights prior to her dissappearance. Dawn also has gone out of her way to advocate for Joe. ( they have illminated all that public stuff…

    Maura Murray’s outburst on Feb 5 2004 New theory Mar 22, 2018
    Show notes

I’ve recently read an article about Maura’s disappearance and the momments surrounding the night of Feb 5 2004 which is believed to be tied to her decision to leave Umass Amherst on Feb 9 2004. Please feel free to comment, I would love feedback on this. Thanks.

My theory about a potential serial killer in New England Feb 17, 2018
    Show notes

Today I’ll be discussing a theory that I’m working on. It involves unsolved murders and missing persons around the I-91 and I-93 and I-95 in New England. Now keep in mind this is simply a theory I have and should be taken as such. What led me to research this phenomenon was the disappearance of U-Mass Amherst nursing student Maura Murray back on February 9th 2004. There have been some thoughts that her disappearance may have been the result of a serial killer and I wanted to look at other disappearances or unsolved cases which had similar circumstances. This led me into the state of Maine and the unsolved murder of Pamela Webb. She was a 32 year old woman from Winthrop Maine and was reported missing on July 1st 1989. Pamela Webb was on her way to see her boyfriend in Mason NH when she disappeared. Her 1981 blue Chevrolet pick-up was located on the road in a southbound lane on I-95 in. There were signs of a struggle near the truck and also signs that her vehicle had problems since one tire was flat and a replacement tire was next to it. Her body was later found in the woods off route 3 in Franconia NH. Now Franconia is located about 100 miles and about 2 hours and 20 minute drive from where her vehicle was located. So I asked myself, why on earth would someone abduct someone then drive 100 miles to dump her body. That’s when I was reminded of the Green River Killer. Gary Ridgeway is one if not the most prolific serial killers in US history. Ridgeway was a truck driver for the Kenworth Truck factory. What he would do is pray on vulnerable women, kill them and then dump their bodies along his truck route. He would also dump the bodies across different state lines to throw police off (especially if law enforcement looked for the missing woman where she was last seen)…. Ridgeway would also have mass dump sites for his victims and was known to return to the scenes sometimes moving bodies. The person who picked up Pamela Webb drove past two state lines (Massachusetts and New Hampshire) then dumped her body near Franconia Notch. Jessica Briggs, 16 was found Portland waterfront in 1989. She had been stabbed to death. I’m not sure if this case is related, however it has been speculated that it may be tied to the Connecticut river killer. Note that there was an arrest in this case. Anthony Sanborn was arrested but his sentence was overturned when it was revealed that the only eyewitness to Jessica’s murder, Hope Cady, was found to have very poor eyesight and as such her testimony was unreliable. She later admitted that she had been cohersed by Portland police to implicate Sanborn. The location of Jessica’s body is only 18 and a half miles to the location of Pamela Webb’s vehicle. Laura Kempton was found on Sept 28, 1981 in her apartment. It was apparent that she had been beaten to death. She was a 23 year old student at the Portsmouth beauty school in Portsmouth NH which is just off the I-95. Tammy Little was found in a similar fashion as Laura. She was in her apartment and had also been beaten to death. Like Laura she was a student at the Portsmouth Beauty school in Portsmouth NH which is again off the I-95 and located about 36 miles or a 40 minute drive from where Pamela Webb’s vehicle was located. Keep in mind, Pamela’s abductor would have needed to drive past Portsmouth NH in order to get to Franconia where her body was dumped. Jaclynne Snyder, 22 had been visiting Pourtsmouth NH when she went missing on September 4, 1977. Her body was found on Route 155 in Lee, NH on On September 14, 1977. Her cause of death is undetermined due to decomposition. Stella Bolton and James Moore 68 were both stabbed to death before their house was set on fire in Portsmouth NH on February 16th 1991. Now if you go up from Portsmouth NH up to the NH-16 you find more victims. Maurice and Ellen Wilkinson, a couple in their 40’s was found in Center Ossipee, NH on August 16, 1974. Now keep in mind, Ossipee NH is only 53 miles from Portsmouth NH. Also keep in mind, it’s only 30 miles away from Conway NH at which point it joins with 302, the same road traveled by Pamela Webb’s killer. Paul Olsen was found was found wrapped in blankets, laying in a stream near Route 113 in Madison, NH. An autopsy revealed that the cause of death was due to asphyxia from obstruction of the mouth and nose. Now I don’t believe that this is related (assuming any of these are related). He was found in a secluded area unlike the others which were found on or just off main roads. Shari Lynn Roth was found on August 21st 1977, she was 22 when she was found murdered near Sawyer Pond off Route 302 in Bartlett State Park, NH, located in the White Mountain National Park region. In my opinion there are similarities between the murder of Shari Roth and the disappearance of Maura Murray. Both women were in their early 20’s, both were athletic, both enjoyed to climb mountains and camping, both attended Umass Amherst. Both had ties to Bartlett NH. I know this is most likely just pure coincidence but I find it very interesting. It is also interesting to note that Fred Murray believes that Maura was heading to Bartlett NH, the same place Shari’s body was located. Louise Chaput, 52 was located Jackson, NH on November 15, 2001. Her cause of death was multiple stab wounds. She had gone for a hike at Lost Pond Trail in Jackson NH. The trail is just off NH-16 and about 15 miles from Bartlett NH. The body of Casmiro Jablonski, age 73, was found in his home just off of Bay Road in Newmarket, NH on July 6, 1977. He had been strangled to death. Now Bay Road is only 8 miles from US-4 which is also connected to the I95. Also North Bay road is only about 15 miles from Portsmouth. On July 12, 1973 two fifteen-year-old girls from Merrimack, NH, Anne Psaradelis and Diane Compagna went missing. They had been seen at Hampton Beach and were last seen hitchhiking in the direction of Merrimack late in the afternoon of July 12th. It was first thought that they had run away, but two months went by without any word from either girl. Their badly decomposed bodies were discovered on September 29, 1973 in the woods off of New Boston Road in Candia, NH. The area is within a short distance of Route 101, which is the road leading from Merrimack to Hampton Beach. The manner of death was undetermined because of the condition of the bodies but it is believed that the girls were strangled to death. Now Hampton Beach is right off I-95 and Candia NH is close to I-93 and route 101 connects the two interstates. There is a detective in Merrimack who is convinced he knows who is responsible for the double murder and even wrote a book about the case. On May 20, 1991 at 11:26 a.m., Manchester Police were called to respond to 700 Elm Street, the Center of NH parking garage, for a report of a female being stabbed. Upon arrival, police found Rita Roy, age 69, suffering from multiple stab wounds. Rita was transported to a local hospital where she died as a result of her injuries. An extensive investigation, spanning several months was conducted into this incident in an attempt to learn the identity of the assailant but no arrests were made. Now Elm Street is just off the I-93 and connects to route 101. She was found only 11 miles from where Anne and Diane were located in Candia NH. “Jane Doe”, 30’s. Manner of death not disclosed, found in Bedford, NH on October 6, 1971.This unidentified female was recovered on an unused logging road in the woods at the end of Kilton Road, near Bedford, New Hampshire. Kilton Road has since been extended and is an on-ramp to Route 101 West, near Interstate 293. The victim was at this scene for up to three months prior to discovery. Now Jane Doe was located only 4 miles from where Rita Roy was located. Sharon Johnson, 36 was found in Bedford, NH on July 28, 1988. Her cause of death was multiple stab wounds. Bedford NH runs off HWY 101 and is only 2 and a half miles from where Jane Doe’s body was found. Mindy West, 31. Died of strangulation in her apartment in Manchester, NH on October 4, 1998. Now Manchester NH is off I-293 and is only 9 miles from where Sharon Johnson was found. The Manchester Fire Department responded to a fire at 541-547 Chestnut Street on October 24, 1978. The State Fire Marshal determined that the fire was caused by arson. Pauline Miller, age 53, and Ray Blanchette, age 51, died of smoke inhalation in the fire. Chestnut Street is only located 2 miles away from the I-293. Christina Lunceford. Last seen in Nashua, NH area, she was found in the Lowell, MA area on August 1, 2004. Now Nashua and Lowell both are located off US-3 which intersects with the I-95 in Manchester and the I-495 in Lowell. It is interesting that her killer took her over state lines. Madlyn Crouse, age 74, was found strangled to death in her apartment on Main Street in Nashua, NH. She died either late at night on February 27 or early on February 28, 1976. Now Main Street is only 3 miles from US-3. Yvonne Fine, 81. Found beaten to death outside of her residence in Concord, NH on September 7, 1981. Now Concord is 37 miles from Nashua and to get there you need to get on US-3 and then the I-93. On May 20, 1975 at approximately 12:30 p.m., the body of Judy Lord, age 22, was discovered in her Royal Gardens apartment in Concord, NH. She had been suffocated and strangled. At the time of her murder, Judy Lord lived with her seventeen-month-old son Gregory. Judy was last seen alive on the evening of May 19, 1975 at about 10:30 p.m., when she left a volleyball game that was being played in a common area of the apartment complex. Daniel O’Connell, age 28, of Lowell, MA, was found dead in a wooded area off of Route 106 in Loudon, NH on October 31, 1971. An autopsy revealed that Daniel died as a result of shotgun wounds. He also suffered blunt force injuries to his head and face, which contributed to his death. Now Lowell runs off US-3 and to get to Loudon, you have to continue and go on I-93 then take I-393 and then turn on Route 106. Now Daniel’s killer drove about 60 miles and crossed state lines to dispose of his body. On February 21, 1977 the Belknap County Sheriff’s Department was performing a search warrant at a home located on Beauty Hill Road in Gilmanton, NH. The sheriffs found four tons of marijuana in an upstairs bedroom. In the bed was the body of a white male later identified as Jerome P. O’Sullivan, age 29. James died as a result of a single shot to the right side of the head just above the ear. The medical examiner was unable to determine whether Jerome died as a result of homicide or suicide. The case has been treated as a suspicious death. Gilmanton is only 12 miles from where Daniel’s body was found. I don’t believe this case is related to any of the other cases. This case is obviously drug related. Lisa Wright, age 26, who lived at 661 Union Avenue, Laconia, NH was found strangled to death in her apartment on December 10, 1991. Lisa was last seen on the night of December 6, 1991 when she was dropped off at her apartment. In January 1992, Alan Pete was charged with Second Degree Murder for killing Lisa. The murder charge against Pete was dropped in March 1993, a few months before trial because one of the witnesses recanted earlier statements he had made to the police. No one else was ever charged in connection with this case. Lisa was located only 17 miles from where Jerome’s body was located. Union Avenue is only 9 miles from I-93. Thirty-six-year-old Mary Morales disappeared March 3, 1999, and was found dead a day later, next to a guardrail at Exit 4 of the highway. Her nude body was found near a guardrail off I-91 in Vernon VT. Now Mary was actually from Springfield MA so her killer drove 55 miles or about an hour away crossing state lines before disposing of her body. Also, her killer would have driven past Hadley MA, which is close to Amherst where Maura Murray was a nursing student. Also, I-91 is the supposed route Maura took to get to Haverhill NH. Mary Harrison, age 22, was reported missing by her husband, Walter Harrison, on October 15, 1981. Mary and her husband lived on Broadbrook Road in Ashuelot (Winchester), NH. Her body was found by a hunter on October 30, 1981 in the woods near Monument Road in Hinsdale. An autopsy determined that Mary died as a result of a gunshot wound to the head. Now Monument Road is located about a mile from the Connecticut river and a couple miles from I-91. Ellen Ruth Fried, age 26, was last seen talking on a payphone outside of a convenience store in Claremont on July 22, 1984. Her skeletal remains were found in a wooded area next to the Sugar River in the Kelleyville area of Newport, NH on September 19, 1985. The autopsy revealed the cause of death to be undetermined because of the skeletal remains that were found. However, the circumstance of her disappearance and the findings at the scene were consistent with Ellen having been sexually assaulted before her death. The case has been treated as a homicide. Sugar River is located about 7 miles from where she was last seen and about 11 miles from the I-91. On June 11, 1968 at approximately 7:10 a.m., Joanne Dunham, age 15, was last seen while walking from her home at Raiche Mobile Homes in Charlestown, NH enroute to her bus stop on her way to school. She never got on the bus. Her body was found at approximately 4:15 p.m. the following day on a roped off dirt road on Quaker City Road in Unity NH approximately 5½ miles from where she was abducted. An autopsy determined that Joanne died of asphyxiation. Quaker City Road is about 10 miles from I-91 and close to the Connecticut river. Mary Elizabeth Critchley, age 37, was last seen on July 25, 1981 near exit 13 of the Massachusetts Turnpike in Framingham, MA. Mary had been dropped off there by a friend and was hitchhiking to Waterbury, VT, where she lived with a friend. Mary was attending classes at the University of Vermont at the time of her death. Her body was found on August 9, 1981 in the woods off of Unity Stage Road, in Unity, NH. The medical examiner was unable to determine a cause of death because of the condition of the body, but the circumstances surrounding her disappearance and death are suspicious. Again, we have a case where someone crosses state lines to dispose of a body. Her killer drove 133 miles to dispose of her body and to get to Unity Stage Road, you need to take the I-91. The body of Eva Morse, age 27, was discovered in West Unity, NH, on April 25, 1986. Morse was last seen on the morning of July 10, 1985 hitchhiking on Route 12 in North Charlestown, NH. The medical examiner determined that Morse had been stabbed to death. Now the distance between where she was picked up and where she was dropped off is about 8 miles. The distance from where she was last seen to the I-91 is only two miles. Bernice Courtemanche, age 17, was last seen at approximately 3:30 p.m. on May 30, 1984 in Claremont, NH. She was reported missing the following day. Her skeletal remains were found nearly two years later, on April 19, 1986 just off Cat Hole Hill Road in Newport, NH. She had been stabbed to death. The distance between she was last seen and where she was found is about 5 miles. The distance between where she was last seen and I-91 is only 5 miles. 16 yr old Heidi Martin was reported missing on 05/20/1984, after she failed to return home from a jog. Her body was found on 05/21/1984 in a brook off of a logging road, off of Martinsville Rd. Investigation confirmed she was the victim of a homicide. She was found less than a mile from where she was last seen and only 2 miles from I-91. Steven Hill, 34. was found stabbed to death near Sumner Falls in North Hartland, VT on October 25, 1986. Sumner falls is located 13 miles from I-91 and it’s located in the Connecticut River. There are more unsolved cases in New England but I wanted to focus on these ones. I’ve omitted two cases from the list since I wanted to talk about the cases in more detail sinc…
