DV #61: Will Taxes Skyrocket? Jul 14, 2020

We've got bad news coming from California! Governor Gavin Newsom has decided to lock down the state AGAIN with no date in sight to reopen. Hair salons, gyms, churches, and barber shops in most counties will cease indoor operations. We're in for another long "quarantine" even though deaths continue to decline in the state. Will this madness end or will more states follow suit?

The Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) has decided that students will not return to school in the fall. This is a huge disappointment that defies the science behind COVID-19. We discuss who is pushing these school closures so strongly and some of the wild demands that teachers' unions are making that would be contingent upon their return to school.

The coronavirus has also created a massive budget shortfall in most state and city governments -- and politicians are already implementing massive tax increases. Only the government can increase the cost of services without improving them . . .

Today we're podcasting from Wine County in Sonoma, California! After the virus madness -- we tried to get away for the weekend up north. It was a delightful weekend but an interesting one as the coronavirus regulations have devastated California's beautiful wine country, an area that has barely been affected by the coronavirus. We give you the scoop on what to expect next time you and your family travel during these strange times.

We also visit some good-ish news -- it looks like Dr. Fauci may be on his way out the door. It appears the Trump administration is pivoting to question some of Fauci's biggest mistakes handling (or mishandling) the COVID epidemic. Dr. Fauci has been wrong REPEATEDLY and he has costs thousands of businesses and lives in the process.

Also on today's episode we examine some shocking quotes about the hospitalization rates throughout the country. The media wants you to believe that hospital crowding is an anomaly due to COVID -- but is it?

In case you thought it couldn't get any crazier -- Governor Cuomo has launched an internal investigation into the thousands of deaths in New York nursing homes. Would you believe he found someone one else to blame? It's incredible how Cuomo has decided to absolve himself from his own disaster that crippled nursing homes in the state.

Also on today's episode we look at some shocking statistics from Governor Newsom. With the media blitz to send us into another lockdown -- you'd think that California hospitals are PACKED with COVID-19 patients. That is not true. We take a look at some of Newsom's own stats and explain why it could be that COVID deaths are plummeting . . . for good.

Lastly, we take a look at the tourism industry and how the lack of American dollars will devastate the global economy. Don't miss this important episode.

Eric also tells us the thrilling story about his most notable book, Bonhoeffer: Pastor, Prophet, Martyr, Spy, a biography about the heroic German pastor Dietrich Bonhoeffer. Bonhoeffer’s life shows the true meaning of faith and bravery. He stood up for the Jews persecuted by Nazi Germany, became involved with a plot to assasinate Adolf Hitler, and was imprisoned in a concentration camp, where he was executed. DV #58: Should Kids Go Back To School? Jul 07, 2020

This week's hot topic is whether or not students should return to school. Yesterday President Trump tweeted his support for students returning to classrooms just as Harvard University announced that they would be online for the 2020 to 2021 semester. You won't believe how much Harvard is charging their students to learn online!

ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) also announced yesterday that international students whose colleges will not be returning on campus in the fall must return to their home country. This is a huge blow to universities across the country and a big incentive to get schools to reopen in the fall.

Also on today's episode we discuss another massive drop in deaths from the virus and Gavin Newsom's new additions to the counties in lockdown. Enjoy!

Governor Gavin Newsom had a weekend chock full of bad publicity! There were massive gatherings in the Hollywood Hills, plenty of beachgoers defying the beach closures, and a massive display of fireworks across the state. It appears that Californians are becoming tired of draconian politicians and their restrictive lockdown orders and blatant hypocrisy.

We also tell you about our Venice Beach Independence Day Autonomous Zone. It was a hit! You'll hear about our time on the beach and Phelim's great interview on Fox News with Raymond Arroyo on the Ingraham Angle.

Our Independence Day Autonomous Zone Jul 03, 2020

Today we are heading to the beach! It's July 3rd and Los Angeles County has closed the beaches in order to "curb the spread of the virus." It is absolutely ridiculous. Just a few days ago Gavin Newsom and Eric Garcetti were encouraging mass protests of thousands in the street. If Black Lives Matter can protest -- families can spend their holiday weekend at the beach.

DV #56: Newsom's Second Lockdown Begins Jul 02, 2020

Yesterday Gavin Newsom announced his second lockdown which will close indoor dining in 19 California counties which make up the majority of California's population. The new regulations will devastate businesses that have just begun to recover from Newsom's original lockdown. The new regulations also close all bars in the 19 counties -- will they close permanently? We discuss what these new rules mean and the hypocrisy behind them. Why do looters and rioters get a free pass while small business owners are being punished?

Further, we discuss who is exempt from Newsom's new rules. All tribal casinos will not be forced to comply with the new rules -- what sense does that make?! In California it's quite comical -- Governor Newsom and Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti have announced new restrictions for businesses and bans on gatherings in their daily press conferences -- which have been disrupted by BLM protesters. How can the mayor of Los Angeles ban gatherings while a massive gathering is happening during his press conference?!

Also on today's episode, we talk about some shady graphs in the New York Times and the return of "green policies" that have been abandoned due to the virus.

While Black Lives Matter Activists try to slander and defund the police we’ve brought you one of our favorite law enforcement officers on this week’s episode of the Ann & Phelim Scoop! Today we are joined by the REAL Detective Jim Wood who was played by Dean Cain in our movie Gosnell that so many of you are familiar with. We are honored to have him on this special Independence Day episode!

We talk with Jim about everything from Gosnell to the civil unrest spreading throughout the country. Jim takes us back to the beginning of the narcotics investigation that uncovered Gosnell’s gruesome abortion operation. He discusses the most important parts of the case and what it was like to slap the handcuffs on the abortion doctor when he was finally arrested for the murder of thousands of lives.

Jim also discusses his perspective on the latest civil unrest and protests over the past several weeks. Spoiler alert - he is no fan of the liberal politicians allowing this chaos to continue. We round out the interview asking Jim about his favorite thing to cook and he shares with us why The Untouchables is his favorite movie. In celebration of this holiday week, we end the episode in our backyard, where Ann shares a delicious recipe for a refreshing Gin and Tonic.

DV #55: Is Another Lockdown Coming? Jun 30, 2020

We are not happy. After three months of torture from unelected government bureaucrats it feels like we are going all the way back to the full lockdown we had just a few weeks ago. Except it's worse because we know none of these new rules are based on science. Los Angeles County has closed all of their beaches for the July 4th weekend. Governor Gavin Newsom has mandated that several counties close their bars, wineries, and nightclubs. And yet not too long ago these politicians were promoting mass protests in the streets. But if you ask them whether the rise in cases could be contributed to the Black Lives Matter protests -- they roll their eyes and blame the bars. It is complete madness.

On today's episode we examine the rollback of reopening in states like California, Arizona, Florida, and Texas. We also take a look at a Texas doctor's analysis of what is really happening in the new "hot spot" where cases have risen. It's not what the media wants you to believe. These new cases are much younger, healthier, and some barely even present symptoms.
