Allergies are nothing to sneeze at! Aug 15, 2018
    Show notes

In today's episode I talk about truly severe allergies. Often when people think of allergies they don't think about the fact that some are severe enough to kill a person. I'm actually one of those people with a huge allergy list, and many of those allergens are life threatening to me. In talking and interacting with people regularly I find they don't really get it. And that's frustrating at times, so today's post covers what can happen to a severe allergy sufferer. If you ever invite someone to dinner or a cook out and they have some bad food allergies???? Well, don't feel bad, it's not you, it's the food! •If you enjoy the music check out Soundstripe: https://soundstripe.grsm.io/RichardCharpentier •My YouTube Channel: https://bit.ly/2mI1qkm •Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/livingintin/ •Want to support this podcast? https://anchor.fm/the-airstream-chronicles •E-mail Me: rich at richcharpentier.com

There are Apples in my Airstream. Tech talk Tuesday. Aug 14, 2018
    Show notes

Since the Airstream first hit the road in 2006 there have always been Apple products in it. I hit the road with a MacBook Pro in 2006. Years later I purchased my second MacBook, and finally the Macbook Pro that I've had since 2014. I'm not an Apple "fan boy." The products have worked well for me for years, especially while being highly mobile. Today I'm beginning to have concerns when it comes to Apple's direction with the laptop and desktop market. I think they're focusing more on "form over function," and I think that's a dangerous road. With so much focus on iOS, and think they're losing their vision on "development grade" equipment. Only time will tell.

Working from your RV can sometimes be lonely Aug 13, 2018
    Show notes

Here we are. Another weekend is over and it's back to work for most listeners. I've got projects lined up for the week from the Airstream so I've got work to do. But sometimes working remote can be a little lonely. If you don't work with a team, have people to interact with during the day, you can find yourself missing being part of a larger group. Today I talk about working alone, working remote, and sometimes feeling under appreciated for what you bring to the table. Before you set off on a full time RV adventure, or working from home, consider what I talk about here today!

Camping Stories - Banned from Uno and Trivial Pursuit! Aug 10, 2018
    Show notes

On today's podcast I talk a little about my summer time experiences on Manchaug Pond. Today's focus was the fact that my uncle didn't appreciate my regular winning streaks in both Uno and Trivial Pursuit. So I got myself banned from playing with the adults! Do people still play games when they travel and camp? Have our digital devices taken the place of that evening family time? I'd love to hear from you and your thoughts on the topic! •If you enjoy the music check out Soundstripe: https://soundstripe.grsm.io/RichardCharpentier •My YouTube Channel: https://bit.ly/2mI1qkm •Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/livingintin/ •Want to support this podcast? https://anchor.fm/the-airstream-chronicles

Creating a podcast episode with the iPhone and Anchor Aug 09, 2018
    Show notes

Today’s episode was put together with my iPhone 8 and Apple’s AirPods. During the recording I kept calling the AirPods air buds. Whoops! I wanted to test the audio quality with the Anchor app and the AirPods. Listening to an excerpt I’m not super happy with the audio quality provided by the AirPods. Live and learn. That’s part of experimenting with tech that’s new to you. Also in this episode I talk about turning off notifications and how that can help your concentration and work. My favorite way to procrastinate happens to be instagram. So I have notifications turned off on it so I don’t spend a lot of time on it every day!

A Chronic Illness Started My Full Time Airstream Life! Aug 08, 2018
    Show notes

Some of you may be familiar with this story. For other listeners this might be a new one on you. It's a sad story at points, but please don't feel bad. It's also a story that explains why I'm not running around more with the Airstream. I'm posting this podcast today to help myself talk through what's been going on with me medically recently. Consider it a self help podcast for the day. And I don't mind if you give today's show a pass. And just so you know, the Airstream has played an integral part in this story. The greatest lifeboat in the world! Tomorrow we'll be back for Tech Talk Thursday, and a more upbeat program! •If you enjoy the music check out Soundstripe: https://soundstripe.grsm.io/RichardCharpentier •My YouTube Channel: https://bit.ly/2mI1qkm •Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/livingintin/ •As always, today's music track was licensed through Soundstripe.com

    Strange E-mail, Unlimited Data, & Net Neutrality. E11 Aug 07, 2018
    Show notes

For today's tech Tuesday we're talking about a few issues. Strange fake e-mails hit our inboxes every day. Today I received a good one and I share it with you. For the next topic, "Unlimited wireless data plans." Yeah, words don't mean what they used to. When there are limitations on an Unlimited plan, somehow the carriers want us to believe they're still unlimited. Dictionaries for everyone! Finally I touch base on a topic I want to talk about more. Whether your a highly mobile tech pro, or a regular Internet user, Net Neutrality is a big issue that needs to be addressed more. What do you think? •If you enjoy the music check out Soundstripe: https://soundstripe.grsm.io/RichardCharpentier •My YouTube Channel: https://bit.ly/2mI1qkm •Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/livingintin/ As always today's intro and exit music was licensed through Soundstripe.com

A Weird Work Week At The Airstream - Being Flexible! Aug 06, 2018
    Show notes

This week won't be my typical work week. Two days are totally shot this week due to some medical issues and visits to doctors. Part of the reason I'm building my own business is to allow me the flexibility to deal with some medical problems that have been going on for over a decade now. And this summer has been very trying due to those issues. In order to address the medical stuff I really have to be very flexible about my work hours, and working for myself allows that flexibility. My clients don't care what time of day I'm sitting at my computer, so long as the work is done! •If you enjoy the music check out Soundstripe: https://soundstripe.grsm.io/RichardCharpentier •My YouTube Channel: https://bit.ly/2mI1qkm •Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/livingintin/ •As always today's music track is licensed through Soundstripe

Save the Dells, Prescott Arizona - New Developments - E9 Aug 03, 2018
    Show notes

It's Friday! So that means a random podcast here at the Airstream Chronicles. Today we're talking about the planned new housing developments in the area, and one in particular that's going to back right up to the Granite Dells. The Dells are a stunning set of Granite rock formations. Recreational enthusiasts from all over visit here every year to enjoy the Dells and the National Forests surrounding Prescott. Hiking, mountain biking, trail running, kayaking, sailing, picnicking, and more can be enjoyed here. And the new development might detract from the amazing experience. If you're thinking about creating online videos from your travel adventures, your life, or maybe even your favorite hobbies, is it worth it to do? Well, yes, it's worth it if you set realistic expectations. In today's podcast we'll talk about the gear you'll need, the realities of the time it takes to produce a good video, and how you earn income from your Vlog.
