The Office -- Episode #5.24 "Casual Friday" Apr 30, 2009
    Show notes

From NBC.com: CASUAL FRIDAY | 04.30.09 | 9/8c PT | TV-PG MICHAEL IS TORN BETWEEN HIS TWO SALES GROUPS - Michael has to mediate a dispute within his new sales team. Meanwhile, trouble brews in the office when several employees take the term "casual" Fridays too loosely. Rainn Wilson, John Krasinski, Jenna Fischer, Ed Helms, Leslie David Baker, Brian Baumgartner, Kate Flannery, Mindy Kaling, Angela Kinsey, Phyllis Smith, Oscar Nunez, Creed Bratton, B.J. Novak and Paul Lieberstein also star. -----As mentioned in yesterday's podcast, I can't help but think these last few episodes might be a bit of a let down after the thrilling rollercoaster ride that was the Michael Scott Paper Company plotline. Can an episode about dressing too casually on a Friday REALLY stand up to our newly reborn expectations of excellence? I will be hoping for the best, but writer Anthony Q. Farrell (who has written only one other episode, "Employee Transfer," and a few of the "Kevin's Loan" webisodes) has a LOT to live up to.As always, leave your comments below, and join Kevin and me in the TWSS Chatroom during and after the episode airs.

    Episode # 69 -- "Heavy Competition" & "Broke" (4/16 & 4/23/09) Apr 30, 2009
    Show notes

Episode # 69 of THAT'S WHAT SHE SAID finds both Matt and Kevin practicing synchronized cheese-puff tossing. U-G-L-Y, you ain't got no alibi, you ugly. Yeah, yeah, you ugly. While Jim and Andy bond, The Michael Scott Paper Company is taking a dent out of Dunder Mifflin's bottom line (thanks to Michael's magic Rolodex). Unfortunately, crunching the numbers reveals trouble ahead. Their only hope? A buyout, just as long as neither Dwight NOR Michael manage to queer the deal. Would you rather have a fishing pole or just a fish? Welcome back, big guy.Incidental music provided by the Podshow Podsafe Music Network. Download the Dwight "Idiot" Ringtone Apr 29, 2009
    Show notes

by Kevin CrossmanOne of the highlights of "Broke" was Jim's custom ringtone of Dwight repeating "idiot" over and over. Now NBC is satisfying the needs of tech-savvy fans with a download link so you can install it on your own phone (because everyone wants a little Dwight in their phone).Ringtone is available in two formats (select "Save as..." to download to your computer): - WAV - M4R (iPhone)The great thing about custom ringtones is that you can hear in advance who is calling, just like Jim. So, it was very easy to install the ringtone on my iPhone and use it for one of my contacts. Now, whenever Matt calls me I will hear "Idiot, Idiot, Idiot..." :-)

Celebrate The Office Centennial Apr 24, 2009
    Show notes

One hundred episodes? Not too shabby, "crappy" American spin-off that had nothing on the UK version. On a less sarcastic note, congrats to the cast and crew. Looking forward to another hundred.EDIT: Here's an "official" video from NBC.com:

    The Office -- Episode #5.23 "Broke" Apr 23, 2009

From NBC.com:BROKE | 04.23.09 | 9/8c PT | TV-PG LMichael's new company struggles to make early morning deliveries while the office tries to get their expense reports in on time after Angela enforces Dunder Mifflin's policy.----------Is this end of Charles Miner's run as the "new boss." Idris Elba was signed for six episodes and guess what... this is show #6. Do Michael and Pam return to Dunder Mifflin? And what role will David Wallace play in all of this. Episode # 68 -- "Dream Team" & "Michael Scott Paper Company" (4/9/09) Apr 22, 2009
    Show notes

Episode # 68 of THAT'S WHAT SHE SAID finds both Matt and Kevin enjoying a delicious pancake luncheon. Michael has taken that job and forcefully shoved it, and now it's time to assemble the dream team that will take the Michael Scott Paper Company straight to the top (with Nana's help, of course). Unfortunately, just like a peanut butter and tuna sandwich, sometimes your dreams don't turn out quite the way you'd like. Back in the Office, Jim sucks up then runs down, Dwandy form a musical bromance while fighting over the new receptionist, and Flenderson shares a bit of bathroom banter. Remember, you miss 100% of the pancakes you don't make. Incidental music provided by the Podshow Podsafe Music Network. Vacation Update Apr 14, 2009
    Show notes

Hey everyone! Greetings from the "cibercafe" at the Grand Mayan Riviera Maya resort, just outside of Playa Del Carmen. Been pretty busy for the last few days (just got back from seeing Chichen Itza-- holy crap, the heat!), so I haven´t had a chance to access a computer.

Glad to see everyone liked the last two episodes. Can´t wait to see what happens next. Look for a double episode of "Dream Team" and "Michael Scott Paper Company" to air shortly after I return.

Melora Hardin is Busy Everywhere but The Office Apr 13, 2009
    Show notes

By Kevin CrossmanWe haven't seen much of Melora Hardin and the character of Jan Levenson since the infamous "Baby Shower" episode earlier this season. We know that Hardin has been busy appearing in the Broadway cast of "Chicago," but with recent news and several projects hitting the marketplace right now it's definitely "The Month of Melora."Hardin's first project of note is this weekend's box office champ, Hanna Montana: The Movie. And while I'm willing to spend a lot of time checking out Office related movie projects (and even like most of them), guess what movie I'm not seeing?Coming up next weekend is the high school fantasy film 17 Again with Zac Efron and Matthew Perry... and Melora Hardin. As much as I have no interest in Efron, I do like Perry and some of other costars including Leslie Mann and Thomas Lennon. So, remind me to NetFlix this when it comes out on DVD. (remember... support TWSS with a two-week trial to NetFlix). We also have more details of You, the labor of love from Hardin and her husband Gildart Jackson that we mentioned on the last TWSS episode. According to Hardin's Twitter post, "Download @YouTheFilm for Mom May 8th at youthefilm.com, itunes, and amazon!". You can learn more at youthefilm.com.Of course, what we're most interested in is whether Jan will return to "The Office." Well, if history is any indication then just as fans of Team Karen were bummed to learn about a new pilot for Rashida Jones, those fans of Jan can't be excited to learn about "Lights Out," a new FX drama pilot that will star Melora Hardin. Hardin will play a surgeon in the series pilot that will start filming this week."Lights Out" centers on Patrick "Lights Out" Leary (McCallany), an aging former heavyweight boxing champion who struggles to find his identity and support his wife (Hardin), a pediatric orthopedic surgeon, and three daughters after his fighting days are over. That leads him to take a job as a legbreaker, collecting on unpaid gambling debts. He is diagnosed with pugilistic dementia (a neurological disorder that affects boxers who receive multiple blows to the head), so he decides he'll need to make another big payday to support himself and his family before his brain turns to jelly. According to the article in the Hollywood Reporter, Hardin will not return to "The Office" this season, but "is expected to guest on one or more episodes" next season.Learn More:www.melora.com

The Office -- Episodes #5.20 "Dream Team" & #5.21 "Michael Scott Paper Company" Apr 09, 2009
    Show notes

From TVguide.com:Dream Team Following his bumpy first meetings with new boss Charles (Idris Elba), Jim finds himself squaring off with the bigwig in a soccer game in the parking lot. Meanwhile, Michael fears the new workday, so much so that he's barely able to leave his house. But that doesn't stop him from assembling his "dream team."The Michael Scott Paper Company Former romantic rivals Dwight and Andy form an unlikely kinship and plan a hunting trip together. Meanwhile, supervisor Charles demands a rundown from Jim---but Jim has no clue what "rundown" actually means. And Michael holds a Paper and Pancakes company luncheon, but it might end up as a flat affair.--------Two episodes in one night? You're killing me NBC! Can't wait to see how this plays out.
