The Birdcage - Hardbodies, Guatamalaness & a Lucky Pierre China Set Jun 15, 2020
    Show notes

Listener requests continue during quarantine and this week Paul & Erika are taking a close look at 1996’s The Birdcage. We all know that Robin Williams, Nathan Lane, Gene Hackman & Dianne Wiest are essentially perfect...but does the movie hold up? Also, and perhaps ever more exciting, it’s the episode when we find out once and for all if Paul needs an anger translator (spoiler: he does not). Enjoy!
-Paul recommended Capote, written by Dan Futterman, as a palate cleanser.
-Erika felt a lot of hometown pride for Miami while watching Moonlight.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer - Bisected Hot Dogs, Evita Cosplay & a Yellow Leather Jacket Jun 08, 2020
    Show notes

1992 is the year this week, and Buffy the Vampire Slayer is the film! Erika and Paul are both out as Buffy the TV show super-fans, so it’s time for them to take a good hard look at the movie that started it all. Along the way, they wonder what happens to all the vampire corpses (they don’t dust in this world!), speculate on where in LA some of these scenes take place (haunted ballroom?) and Erika is forced to take a good long look at some of her fashion choices from the 90s (cutoff denim shorts!). You don’t want to miss this one, so download and enjoy!
-Both of your hosts encourage you to just watch Buffy the Vampire Slayer, the TV show.

Encino Man - Foofaraw, Gazongas & a Very Large Sheet Cake Jun 01, 2020
    Show notes

That Aged Well is in 1992 this week to dissect the Brendan Fraser/Sean Astin/Pauly Shore vehicle Encino Man! Paul and Erika discuss the proper way to dig a pool, the DeLuise Acting Dynasty and how they were both snobs as children. They even take some time to celebrate the movie portraying a teacher who is both good at his job and seemingly happy with his life choices. Download the ep and enjoy!
-Erika recommends the first season of Scrubs as a palate cleanser, where Brendan Fraser had a short guest arc.
-Paul also recommends another Brendan Fraser movie: Gods & Monsters, also starring Ian McKellen.

    Troop Beverly Hills - Evian Water, Cookie Time & A Goddess/Icon May 25, 2020
    Show notes

Erika and Paul are delighted this week to travel back to 1989 and take everyone through Troop Beverly Hills, starring Shelley Long. They break down the movie and consider how a muffler salesman became the richest man in Beverly Hills, the usefulness of an in-home balance beam and the propriety of harmonizing during Happy Birthday. It’s a Phyllis Nefler love-fest this week on That Aged Well!

The First Wives Club - Bvlgari Pearls, Transient Alcoholism & a Classic Six on the Upper West Side May 11, 2020
    Show notes

If you’ve listened to Erika and Paul at all, you know they’re going to love any movie starring Bette Midler, Goldie Hawn & Diane Keaton. But does The First Wives Club age well? That’s the question at hand, and so that’s the question your hosts strive to answer. Along the way, they discuss one of the deepest benches ever for a movie cast, strangely toothless mobsters and, of course, “You Don’t Own Me.” Download and enjoy!

Y’all wanted 1997’s Starship Troopers so we’re giving you 1997’s Starship Troopers! Paul and Erika go through industrial strength hairspray, bad gay BFFs and of course discuss the performances of Casper Van Dien and Denise Richards. Take a break from worrying about, well, everything and enjoy the ep!
-Paul recommended Saga, an award-winning graphic novel series by Brian K. Vaughn and Fiona Staples, for those of you who want to continue on a media diet about the cost of war.
-Erika thought The Frighteners, starring Jake Busey, would be a great palate cleanser for those of you into horror-comedy.

Bringing Down the House - Dame Joan Plowright, LA Driving Tests & a Scrotal Crushing Apr 20, 2020
    Show notes

Quarantime continues with 2003’s Bringing Down the House! Paul and Erika are venturing into the aughts for the first time at your request and talking about the Steve Martin and Queen Latifah vehicle that wanted to take on race in America. Along the way they’ll get into what’s always funny (shots to the ‘nads and poop jokes) and what isn’t (mostly all the racist stuff). Download and enjoy!
-Paul felt Missi Pyle was underserved in the film and recommends everyone watch Another Period on Comedy Central.
-Erika refused to limit herself to only one palate cleanser and suggested a watch of Chicago starring Queen Latifah and/or Shopgirl starring Steve Martin.
