    Tech Stands Up

The Tech Stands Up podcast is a monthly show that will cover the tech angle of the rapidly changing political climate. Each month we plan to cover different social topics and policies and talk about how the tech community can get involved. We will also include a recap of recent technology and political news, as well as, provide tips and tools you can use to navigate these uncertain times.

Tech Stands Up is a grassroots movement giving a voice to the rapidly growing concerns about the current administration’s policies affecting the tech community and its users. We believe in creating a space that respects, empowers and includes all. We believe in standing up for the fundamental rights of all communities and persons. We believe in standing up for something, not simply against it.

Episode 1: ISPs and your privacy Apr 30, 2017
    Show notes

On April 3rd, President Trump signed into law a resolution that allows your Internet Service Provider to sell your private browsing history to third parties. Some argue that ISPs are put at a disadvantage with other companies like Facebook and Google, while privacy advocates argue that this allows ISP’s to sell your data with no restrictions on how that data is used. In this episode, we will talk with Shahid Buttar from the EFF and Meaghan Zore, a San Francisco Privacy lawyer about what this bill means to you, the internet user, and what you can do to protect your privacy. Guests: Shahid Buttar - Director Of Grassroots / Advocacy - Electronic Frontier Foundation http://www.shahidbuttar.com/ https://twitter.com/Sheeyahshee https://www.facebook.com/shahid.buttar.public Meaghan Zore - Attorney and Privacy Professional - Zore Law http://www.zorelaw.com/ https://www.linkedin.com/in/mmzore/ https://techstandsup.org/podcast
