Musician and filmmaker Dimitri Coats — guitarist for the punk supergroup OFF! and frontman for Burning Brides — joins host Aaron Sagers to discuss his punk rock sci-fi comedy feature film Free LSD, which he wrote, directed and stars in, as well as his own paradigm shifting experience with potential extraterrestrials.
Receiving comparisons to Repo Man, Free LSD also stars OFF! singer Keith Morris (from the bands Black Flag and Circle Jerks) in the lead role, and other musicians David Yow (The Jesus Lizard)
Autry Fulbright (And You Will Know Us By The Trail of Dead), DH Peligro (Dead Kennedys), as well as Jack Black, Dana Gould, Chelsea Debo, Chloe Dykstra, James Duval, Barry Del Sherman, Chris D., E.R. Ruiz, Gill Gayle, Davey Havok, and S.A. Griffin.
MORE ABOUT FREE LSD
Keith, an elderly sex shop owner, falls for a younger woman who visits his store looking for a gift. When their relationship turns physical, Keith's failure to perform leads him to a strange erectile dysfunction doctor who offers hope in the form of an experimental drug. The experience gives Keith much more than renewed manhood. It also provides a glimpse into a parallel universe where he is not only the singer of the band OFF!, but also the target of an advanced AI species that will stop at nothing to prevent the group from making a new album, which holds the key to an awakening of human consciousness.
