Flip Flop Truckers Legal or not? Jun 21, 2021
    Show notes

FLIP FLOP TRUCKERS LEGAL OR NOT? Is there a law that prohibits a truck driver from wearing certain foot attire? The simple answer is "no" it is not illegal to wear flip flops while driving a semi truck. However, if one gets into an accident and the cause is the flip flops, then you may be in trouble and pay a heavy fine. There is no legal rule on what you may and may not use but there is a rule called "rule 97", which says that any foot wear warn while driving must not hinder the driver from performing the task of driving. FLIP FLOP TRUCKERS LEGAL OR NOT? Just because it's legal, does not mean you should do it, if it is unsafe. Drivers that use proper foot wear to drive in like tennis shoes, work boots and such have a .02 seconds reaction time but studies show that those that wear flop flops to drive in, are at double that rate. 1.4 million accidents have been recorded that were caused by foot wear being the blame. FLIP FLOP TRUCKERS LEGAL OR NOT? Working in an environment that is as rugged as the trucking industry, puts our driver in danger. Things fall off trucks and can break a foot. Flip flops are for casual wear and trucking is far from casual. Toon in and hear this weeks podcast on the highly talked about topic. Top 25 Death Roads in America Jun 16, 2021

TOP 25 DEATH ROADS IN AMERICA. To determine which road in America is the deadliest, the data must show the highest deaths per distance per road. The article which American Trucker Magazine posted recently, shows the number one road at one death per mile on the winning road. Most roads like Interstate 10 in Santa Monica , CA to Jacksonville FL which is 2,460 miles is netting .597 deaths per mile or a little over 1 death per 2 miles. Most of the roads are in that 1 death per mile, which is dealt enough. But the number one road in America is showing a whopping 1.134 deaths per one mile. That road of course has been number one for a long time and that is a stretch running from Tampa FL to Daytona FL known as Interstate 4. TOP 25 DEATH ROADS IN AMERICA. Inconsiderate Truckers Do you report and flat tires, used lights or any needed maintenance for a trailer being dropped in a drop yard? If not you are whats being talked about on this episode of TalkCDL Trucking Podcast. Truck drivers that do not report issues that need attention on a trailer are not looking out for their brother or sister that will be assigned to that particular trailer. by writing it up on your report, the trailer should be repaired for the next driver to pick it up without and delays. If a driver is assigned to a trailer that needs repair, it could cost that driver an entire days wage, waiting for it to be fixed. Tune in and hear Johnny Acids take on his experiences with out of service trailers. J.B. Hunt has partnered up with autonomous tech provider Waymo to move freight between Houston TX and Fort Worth TX. The autonomous level 4 autonomous technology will be monitored by a driver, an autonomous technician and a software specialist. The customer was not named that will be receiving this service. This is just the beginning of the end. The furture is not looking good for the American worker. The loss of jobs in the distant future is whats on everyones mind in the working field. One of the karma's that trucking companies should be concerned with, is, the shippers might also see that they do not need the trucking companies themselves. After all, if a trucking company can afford to purchase tractor trailers and make a profit delivering freight for shippers, then it only makes sense, that cutting out the trucking company and just hiring a logistics manager to monitor all then"autonomous rigs" would be a greater profit to the manufacturer. After all, all they will need to do is program the rigs to make their delivery! Sponsorship TalkCDL Become a sponsor for talkCDL and show your brand in front of millions. Truck Stops Ripping Off Truckers Jun 06, 2021

TRUCK STOPS RIPPING OFF TRUCKERS. Does America even know what truck drivers are charged for just a bottle of soda at a truck stop? For that matter, do ordinary people know what a truck driver is charged just for every day items that he/she may need? Truckers are many times held hostage by a truck stop. They have no where else to park and shop at an every day normal grocery store, so they are forced to pay truck stop prices. Johnny Acid recently went in to a truck stop to buy a bottle of head n shoulders. The price was just under 12 dollars. The average bottle at Walmart ran about 6 to 7 dollars, making the truck stop price double. It ids very common for a truck driver to have a bill that is double and some times even triple the normal price on the market. When you drive a big rig, you may not park in most common parking lots, such as Walmart, Target and many other shopping stores. Most of the big name common stores have a tow policy if a semi truck is caught parking in their lot. Many truck drivers, trying to save money by shopping at a Walmart store have come out to find a boot on their Semi truck. The price to have the boot removed can reach over $1000. Forcing most to buy from truck stops to avoid the fines and penalties of regular stores. Jonny Acid was asked to comb through a local truck stop while on the road and check out the prices. In doing so we were shocked at the cost a trucker must pay when he is in need of a product they carry. Upon being noticed by store clerks and a manager, Johnny was followed and made to feel uncomfortable and in the end followed out side. Watch for TalkCDL's upcoming video of Truck Stop Vs Regular store prices. America must know how the men and woman are treated that supply their local needs. Panera bread making people wear a mask while the entire restaurant is eating without a mask. Ruthann stopped in most likely for her very last visit to Panera bread and was asked to wear a mask or leave. She glanced around to find that everyone sitting down had no mask on. Of course it almost turned into an argument but she complied and afterwards left with a bad taste in her mouth, pardon the pun. A truck driver was charged with a DUI after he collided with another semi truck on the side of the road. The driver, ironically was hauling a load of liquor. Due to inflation the FMCSA is jumping on the bandwagon of rising their fine prices. Yes you heard it here, the DOT is raising prices on fines to help the high cost of inflation. MOLESTERS, TRUCK PARKING SCAM, TRUCKING NEWS. Child molesters are probably number one or at least very high on the list of scumbags on the planet. Give him a Class A CDL and you now have given him an unlimited hunting ground. On May 17th, Said El Bouazzaoui was chatting with an undercover officer posing as a 13 year old girl using a social media application. Police say Bouazzaoui talked about the sexual things he wanted to do with the 13 year old and offer money for the sex. El Bouazzaoui set up a rendezvous and was arrested by deputies with the Davis County Sheriff's Office when he arrived. El Bouazzaoui admitted to conversing with the undercover officer posing as a minor, and that conversation was found on his phone. Police also say there was other conversations on his phone with other possible victims. El Bouazzaoui is a trucker based in Pennsylvania who travels all 48 states on a weekly basis. Although the arrest statement does not actually say that contact was made with a minor, it is illegal to entice or converse with a minor or a suspected minor for anything sexual related. Everyone is innocent till proven guilty but it does not look good for anyone caught setting up meeting with children for sex, even if it is a police officer posing as that child. Truck Parking Scam Miami Fl: Recently the police set up a supposed "sting" in Miami allegedly for people helping truckers find much needed parking for their big rigs. imagine being a police department flooded with murders, drug cartels and semi truck parking problem? Truck parking? I can smell what the politicians of Miami are stepping in. Some where some how the orders to stop all investigations on serious crimes and concentrate on the big bad truckers and their semi trucks has to be a hoax right? Well its official, someone gave the orders. I dont think the police are the problem and I seriously dont believe that the police department of Miami determined this to be high on the list of problems that need to be solved. It sounds more like some rich politician has a bug up their ass and has put pressure on the mayor which in turn ends at the police department. Come on Miami get your act together and go solve some crimes instead of harassing the working class that are bringing your goods that you need every day. The Lazy Truckers of America May 17, 2021
    Show notes

THE LAZY TRUCKERS OF AMERICA. America is hurting right now and truck drivers that refuse to work are no help. A high percentage of Truckers are still at home collecting money while their brothers and sisters are out on the long road delivering freight across America. This is not only a trucker problem but also a person problem. Ever since the covid-19 issues in 2020, Americans are still trying to hold onto the free money that was given out during uncertain times. Many Americans have been getting an extra chunk of money added unto their unemployment compensation. Many people are taking home $900 per week or better which means there is no need to work. The government has been basically paying people to stay home. What this does is, it insights laziness. Which n turn puts a strain more and more on the working class people, after all it is their labor that is supporting the man that refuses to work. It also is putting America more in debt by the second. We need you. When the corona virus struck last year, it put many people out of work. It also slow down if not shut down many productions. When production was shut down, it created a shortage with many things, such as trailers, rubber, ammunition and many products that are used every day. We need the work force to ramp up production in order to meet the demands of every day life. So its time to get off the couch and do your part. It's time to get back to earning your way in life instead of collecting welfare because, after all, relief is another form of welfare. States with the rudest drivers May 05, 2021
    Show notes

STATES WITH THE RUDEST DRIVERS. This week on TalkCDL Trucking Podcast we discussed the top 10 states with the rudest drivers. These were based on drivers that failed to yield, failed to stop at a stop sign and most of the very preventable tickets one gets when blatantly ignoring a traffic sign. Which state was number one? Well Virginia of course, but you will have to watch the latest podcast by TalkCDL to hear the rest of the list. Why hasn't there been any new trucking shows BJ and the Bear, White Line Fever, Smokey and the Bandit and many other shows that depicted the American trucker but none in the last three decades. Whats the deal? With the driver shortage, Troy has called on Hollywood to bring back or make some new shows up about the American truck driver. Showing life on the road in a big rig could inspire some young men to get their CDL and take to the open road. We thought his suggestion was a valid one. By all means, it has been decades since BJ McKay and his best friend bear". So if anyone from Hollywood is reading this, please make a trucking show, preferably a sitcom. Depression in truckers Depression in truckers is a real thing. According to the CDC, 18.5 percent of adults have suffered from some form of depression. There are roughly 3.5 million truckers in the United Staes, and that calculates to roughly 647,000 depressed truckers. Concentra has an article on how to prevent depression in truckers. According to the article, Long periods on the road, too much time away from loved ones and the general dangers on the road all play a part in trucker depression. States with the rudest drivers. TalkCDL Trucking Podcast Thank you to everyone that writes in with questions and comments. We read every single one of them. You have humbled us with your kind words. Thank you to all those that send videos and pictures of life on the road. We are always trying to put them on the Facebook or YouTube page. Ripping off your own company Apr 26, 2021
    Show notes

RIPPING OFF YOUR OWN COMPANY. There is a growing rate of drivers that are stealing from their own company. Some are doing whats called "Padding the fuel card"! The way the scam works is, a driver finds a small truck stop that will work the scam with them. The clerk behind the counter runs an extra amount of cash on the card (which never goes in the tank) and then they split to booty. But beware drivers, sooner or later your company will figure it out, they always do. Either your fuel mileage is not adding up or something subtle will catch someones eye back at the terminal. Once caught, you will soon learn that the couple of dollars is not worth your career. Finding another carrier to hire you once you have been marked down as a thief at a trucking company, will be next to impossible. Volvo on strike again It has been over ten years since Volvo has had a strike. Recently thousands of union worker walked out when a deal was not met. Volvo offered more incentive but apparently it was not good enough. Negotiations are suppose to resume April 26th, 2022. This not only hurts Volvo but it also hurts suppliers that produce product needed for the assembly line itself. In this writer's opinion, Volvo should raise the workers to a top standard in the industry, after all the cost of the rigs are going up along with profit and why not pass that onto the worker. Another thing to consider is, last year many places were shut down due to covid 19, which means production is behind. With that being said, Volvo runs the risk of losing customers that are desperately seeking to increase their fleets. Trucking Back In The Day Apr 19, 2021
    Show notes

TRUCKING BACK IN THE DAY. There was a time when trucking meant something to everyone at every trucking company. When a new employee was hired, they were required to go on a trip with a trucker. The plan was to make everyone appreciate what the trucker had to go through on a daily basis. If you never drove a big truck before, you were going to know how is felt to be a truck driver, before becoming an employee in the office. This helped most employees, new to trucking, understand what it was like to be away from home and living inside a tractor-trailer. It also help each individual to see what it was like to command a semi truck while traffic was aggressive and even in bad weather. You learned the frustrations and the let downs of the every day operations of transporting freight. You developed a repeat for the truck driver and therefore you worked better with all truckers if you were a new dispatcher, manager or even a secretary. either way this was required at many trucking companies and we are being told that those carriers had less problems. Tine in and hear what TalkCDL trucking Podcast had to say about this topic. Trucker Forced to work for a Trucking Company TalkCDL had an exclusive interview recently with an undisclosed truck driver. We were told a story about a trucker that had developed a health issue. The driver was hospitalized and had not returned to work with in 15 days, so the company automatically terminated the driver, which in turn canceled his health insurance. When the driver was released from the hospital, a few weeks later he received a hospital bill of over 93, 000 dollars. He called the insurance company and was told there was nothing they could do about it. He then received a phone call from the carrier that terminated him. They said if he would come back and work for them they would make his insurance retroactive and then he would be covered. This was a plot to keep the trucker working for them. Tune in and hear the results of this conversation. Truck Driver Threatened by Carrier to Stay Recently a trucking company tried to stop a driver from quitting their company by threatening the driver. Trucker (lets call him Joe) Joe told TalkCDL that he tried to quit the company and in return the company told him they were going to report the rented trailers stolen. Tune into this conversation on this weeks episode of "Trucking Back In The Day". 75 Chrome Shop Truck Show TalkCDL will be at the 75 Chrome Shop April 23rd through the 25th. TWO TRUCKING DUI STORIES. In Nevada a Trucker received 2 DUI's in just 12 days. The worse part of this story, is, That the truck driver was in a commercial vehicle, both times. Julio Perea Ayala a Class CDL holder was arrested twice for a DWI (Driving While Intoxicated), of which he was behind the wheel of a commercial vehicle. Ayala was declared an imminent threat to the public by the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA). He was served an order March 26th that ordered him to cease and desist from operating any commercial vehicle in interstate commerce. A second story appeared this week. Two DUI Trucking Stories. He asks if there is a chance he will get a job and if anyone knows of a carrier that would give him a chance?
