Surviving All Alone and Broke Down. Could you survive broke down all by yourself? Could you do it in the winter? Are you even prepared to be broke down? We feel it's important for drivers to be prepared for all situations while living on the road. This past week produced and very bed winter storm and over 70 people did not survive. Most froze to death. What a horrible way to go. Trucker decides to kill instead of paying for a service A trucker this week called because he needed a locksmith to get him into his rig. A locksmith came to the rescue, only to a nightmare. According to the news, this truck driver did not want to pay the locksmith but instead ran him over and killed him. Then he had the nerve to go on and make his delivery. Of course the trucker is now in jail. We will see if there is more to this story. Happy New Year 2022 is finally in the rearview mirror and thank God. We look forward to a better year in 2023. Would You Stop To Help A Trucker. Well, would you? If you seen a trucker on the side of the road, for whatever reason, would you render help? Would you at least call their company to alert them about the comb-an y truck? Most would not help. In fact, most don’t even think about it as they drive on by. Here’s another question. Not only cruelty, but for performing sexual acts with various animal. The acts were done from the sleeper birth of a tractor trailer and uploaded to the internet. Snitches Get Stitches. There is a law on the books of New York City. It's not a new law but one that has been around since 2018. It is the "snitch' law. How does it work you ask? Citizens of New York hunt for semi-trucks that are idling their motors. They must video the truck for longer than the 3 minutes a trucker is allowed to idle. They then report the trucker and boom, they get paid. This may sound crazy but it is a very true law on. the books. One New Yorker reportedly made over $60, 000 in 2021. Imagine that, a trucker is sitting in 20 degree weather and is expected to freeze because the law states, he may only idle for no more than 3 minutes. Crime On The Road. When you have a concealed carry permit, you don't have the right to pull your gun out to scare people. It is not a Lisence to bully people. In fact, a Lisence to carry a gin bares more responsibility to the person that possesses it. Recently a trucker pulled a gun out and pointed it at a motorist. It sounded like there was road rage going on prior to the incident. A car cut the truck driver off coming into a construction zone and thats when the trucker acted. The driver in the car called 911 and the trucker was arrested. He is now facing up to 25 years in prison. When obtaining your carry permit, we are told to never pull a gun out unless we intend to use it. It is not a deterrent to end an argument. Many people have been arrested because they have misused the privilege they have been given. How Does A Trucker Get Picked For Smuggling Recently we talked about a trucker that was nabbed for smuggling illegal immigrants. over 50 people died in his reefer trailer, which had shut off without him knowing. He is now facing life in prison, along with the mastermind behind this horrific crime. We were wondering, how a trucker even gets the offer to do such a job? We all know that the average person will never even get the opportunity to smuggle humans in a tractor trailer. The reason they won't be asked, is because most truckers don't associate with kind of criminal element. The only truckers that will ever get an offer to do such things, are those of the baser sort. This is how it works people. The problem with using low lines to haul human beings in a semi truck and trailer is, they are usually not the smartest people. The type of driver that is willing to risk being in prison for life, is one that most likely when caught, will turn the rest of the bad guys in. He is also the kind of driver that comes with an higher rick of being caught. This is the only kind of driver that will take this risky job. Bad Things Can Happen When A Carrier Keeps A Driver Pay. When a carrier keeps part or all of a drivers last pay check, it can back fire big time. Many drivers have told TalkCDL their last paycheck from the previous company was stolen. That's right, a driver considers his pay stolen when he does not get his earned wages. Is it Legal to Dock Pay for Poor Performance or for Mistakes? Generally, no an employer cannot engage in docking pay or fining employees for poor performance or mistakes, shortages, or damages. However, if the employee agreed in writing that a deduction could be made, the employer may be able to do so. Only when an employer has reason to believe that the employee was responsible for the mistake and the employee agrees in writing that they will pay for the mistake can it be deducted from their pay.
