SFP Interview: Castoff from Episode 11 of Survivor Philippines Nov 30, 2012

Show notes

This week we interviewed Jonathan Penner. He defied the odds, and held on for 30 days after being targeted by his tribe on day 1. He provided some amazing moments this season by finding the first HII, and winning individual immunity against all odds when he needed it most. Unfortunately, he dropped his guard when he thought he found some security in a final six alliance and missed out on an opportunity to lock in a spot in the final four that left him vulnerable. Listen to this interview to hear how his experience in movies and TV affected his approach to the game, more details on the auction, how he felt about Abi's "new" immunity idol and lots more!

Philippines Episode 11 Nov 29, 2012

Show notes

When we interviewed Artis, he told us to expect more surprises, but who really considered it might be Abi winning immunity? Granted she had a huge advantage, but still came as a surprise to a lot of us when she actually pulled it off. What was even more surprising though was that she was the only one thinking strategically at the auction. Tonight's episode was a great example of how fast the game can change if you let your guard down even for a moment. . Who do you think improved more in the eyes of a final jury: Carter or Abi? Were you happy for Abi? How has your opinion of her changed? Could she actually beat any of the others if she made it to the end? Do you think the final four alliance can hold it together long enough to get rid of Abi and Carter? Can anyone beat Malcolm at final two? Who do you think will be the next to be voted out?

Here is the merged tribe after episode 11. DangRayne:Skupin, Abi, Carter, Denise , Lisa, and Malcolm

SFP Interview: Castoff from Episode 10 of Survivor Philippines Nov 26, 2012

Show notes

This week we interviewed Pete Yurkowski. He left the game in episode 10 of Survivor Philippines. Pete was the second member of the "Evil Trio" to fall. Once they lost control of the majority vote, Pete became an easy target. He stood out early in the game by pitting RC and Abi against each other, but overlooked the need to maintain a strong, loyal personal alliance once the merge occurred which became his undoing. Listen to this interview to hear about when Abi gave him the idol, his thoughts on Carter and Denise, who surprised him the most while watching the show and lots more!

Philippines Episode 10 LF Nov 25, 2012

Show notes

Today must be reverse day. Carter is a dark horse to win and responsible for masterminding reward and individual immunity challenges? You feel sympathy for Abi and are mad at Denise because she's a bully? Skupin is playing smarter than Penner? You guys had some surprising revelations in the feedback show this week! We may not all be in agreement on how well each of the remaining castaways are playing and who stands the best chance to win, but we still agree that this season rocks! We are thankful that Survivor has finally provided a mostly, gimmick free season with smart people who are all trying to win.

For each episode, we provide 3 podcasts: an episode recap, an interview with the castoff, and a chance for Survivor fans like yourself to sound off on what you saw and how you think the castaways are fairing in the game. Twenty three fans shared their thoughts on episode 10 and predictions for what we'll see next. We want to thank and acknowledge everyone who contributed to another great Listener Feedback show. This week we heard from: Crystal, Ryan, Paul, Eric, Shelley, Samantha, Thomas, Michael, Boston Mark, Chris, Sillymoose, Aaron, Johnny, Drew, Helen, BrandonA, BrandonB, Rashmi, Josh, Ann, Jody, Dale and Alice.

Philippines Episode 10 Nov 22, 2012

Show notes

Now that the evil trio were not calling the shots, it was time for the "good guys" to step in and take charge. Lisa finally dumped Abi, and it was certainly interesting to see how Abi managed that as well as all the information she received at tribal council about how she is perceived by others. We got to see her and Pete scramble like never before, but it was too little too late. Who do you think did the most work to improve their chances to win this week? As Penner explained to Abi, she is not going to win now, but does that fact change her value to her tribemates? . Does it make the most sense to eliminate Abi next? Do you think Penner missed a big opportunity? What did you think of the new final four alliance? Do you think they will last till the end? Who is most likely to cause it to fall apart? Who wins in a final two scenario between Skupin and Malcolm? How about Skupin and Denise? Who do you think will be the next to be voted out?

Philippines Episode 9 LF Nov 18, 2012

Show notes

Artis' thankful demeanor won back a lot of us, and the returning players, Penner and Skupin, were definitely the heroes of episode 9 for most of us. Penner's savvy approach to the Reward Challenge brought high praise, evoking comparisons to challenge god Ozzy. Skupin appears to have transitioned from coat tails to strategic force by winning individual immunity and then casting the vote that turned the tables on the evil trio. Several folks were left wondering what strategic details went into Skupin's decision to flip. Quite a few are convinced that it was a plan that he and Lisa must have plotted out together. We all seem to be in agreement that we are still loving this season!

For each episode, we provide 3 podcasts: an episode recap, an interview with the castoff, and a chance for Survivor fans like yourself to sound off on what you saw and how you think the castaways are fairing in the game. SFP Interview: Castoff from Episode 9 of Survivor Philippines Nov 15, 2012

Show notes

This week we interviewed Artis Silvester. He left the game in episode 9 of Survivor Philippines. Artis was the first member of the "Evil Trio" to fall. He pushed his tribe to take it easy once they gained control, but they wouldn't listen to him. He ended up being targeted by the underdogs as an easy way to break up the majority alliance. Listen to this interview to hear about how he almost did not make it on to the show, his thoughts on his tribemates, what he thought about his edit and lots more!

Show notes

Paging Dr. Penner! Move over Denise. There is a new therapist on this island. Jonathan specializes in helping 80s TV stars. Lisa's in crisis, so good thing he's here. Time for more tears and some more introspection. Good thing the returning players are here too. Between Skupin and Penner, they ended up winning the challenges and shaking up the game. We were not sure Skupin had it in him, but it was great see the tables turned on the over confident evil trio. Who is going to last longer: Skupin or Penner? Where does Lisa stand after all this? Who would you go after first, Abi or Pete? Who do you think has the best chance to win now? Who do you think will be the next to be voted out?

Philippines Episode 8 LF Nov 12, 2012

Show notes

Great Survivor episodes tend to result in great LF shows, and this was no exception. It is clear now that Jeff Kent became a very polarizing player. Many folks ended up despising him but there were also those that were surprised that they ended up liking him too. Several folks provided explanations for Penner's confusing vote for Abi. We are all thrilled with how the season is proceeding, and this episode ensured its place in Survivor history. It it great to have so many viable players working hard to win.

For each episode, we provide 3 podcasts: an episode recap, an interview with the castoff, and a chance for Survivor fans like yourself to sound off on what you saw and how you think the castaways are fairing in the game.
