Everyone’s Wacko in Waco Aug 07, 2017

Show notes

This week on Surreal Talk we’re drinking the Kool-aid again and discussing one of the most infamous cults in the last 30 years, the Branch Davidians. In 1992, over 70 members of the Branch Davidian religious group were suspected of hoarding weapons and possibly converting them to automatic in their Mt. Carmel compound near Waco, Texas. There was even accusations of child abuse by David Koresh himself!

We’ll be discussing the life and times of Vernon Howell, aka David Koresh, the history of the Branch Davidian Sect and the ATF/FBI siege and ultimately the raid that ended with the loss of lives of several federal agents and over 70 members of the Branch Davidians.

Simulation Theory Jun 26, 2017

Show notes

Episode 47: On this episode of Surreal Talk we’ll be discussing perhaps the most meta of topics, Simulation Theory. The theory that our reality is nothing more than a simulation or computerized rendering of a reality. Are we just the product of some future simulation ran by our descendants for any number of scientific and/or philosophical reasons?

The 1999 film The Matrix brought the idea to the masses that maybe there is more than meets the eye when it comes to what our reality is or might be. Today there are many examples of simulation theory in popular culture making this one of the most debated topics in conspiracy and scientific circles alike. Elon Musk has been quoted as saying that there is only a one in a billion chance that we actually live in the base reality. This and more on this episode of Surreal Talk.

Black Sites and Secret Bases May 22, 2017

Show notes

Episode 44: On this episode of Surreal Talk we welcome guest host and all around friend of the show, Scott Seegars. Scott proposed this topic in our Facebook group and it garnered a lot of support to be featured as an episode. Together we will be discussing the secret (and now we guess) not so secret bases. In the CIA world, these are known as Black Sites. Off the books prisons and installations used for high value prisoner detention and often enough, torture. The CIA operates these prisons in countries such as Egypt, Morocco, Romania, Poland and a litany of other countries. We also discuss other top secret installations, both real and rumored. Area 51, Dulce Base, S4 and Russia’s Area 51: Kapustin Yar and the secret base Zhitkur. This and more on this episode of Surreal Talk.
