    Faven Ressom's family is Eritrean, and at age seven, she came to Atlanta from Ethiopia. Though surrounded by family, Faven felt like she was on her own, like she never really belonged because of the struggle to balance her own culture with American culture. Her escape at that time? Books. As she got older, Faven's determination led her to commit to creating inclusive environments where people felt like they belonged no matter their background.

    Today, Faven is a serial entrepreneur who owns, among other companies, Faved Events, which hosts some of the most popular events in Atlanta -- from brunches to food festivals -- and she's focused on developing other arms of her business, including a non-profit and a docu-series for television.     Karen Young was an adventurous trouble maker -- in a good way -- and clear from an early age that she'd be an entrepreneur, even if didn't know exactly what that was at the time.     Terra Winston realized very early on the importance of a great education thanks to the emphasis of her parents, who grew up in the segregated south, and who modeled persistence and tenacity for her. The New Jersey native followed suit and says she was became the good girl who always got good grades and did everything right.

    But while pursuing her MBA at Stanford University, Terra struggled to determine what the smart thing was for her to do when surrounded by classmates who were launching major tech businesses in Silicon Valley. Her passion told her that there was something different for her, but her mind told her that if she didn't go for it at that time, she may miss out.

    I've spoken quite a bit recently about being more intentional about my own self care, and encouraging you to be more intentional about yours. Of course, there's proper diet, regular exercise and healthy environments that all play into that, but there's also the important factor of your support network. Not just friends, family and colleagues, but fellow entrepreneurs who support your kind of crazy!

    On this episode I offer seven smart ways to get started building -- or reinforcing -- your support network. Many you may know, but it never helps to revisit it.
