On Episode 12 of Sup Doc Paco and George discuss the 2008 documentary I Think We're Alone Now with comedian and writer Sara June. We talk about this compelling documentary as well as stalking, memes, relationships and the power of obsession and celebrity.
Filmmaker Sean Donnelly randomly met Jeff Turner on the street in Santa Cruz California. Sean found out that Jeff was a Tiffany fan, and had gotten in trouble for stalking her. Sean told Jeff that he can spiritually communicate with Tiffany through a device that he invented. For those that don't know, Tiffany is a pop singer that found fame in the 1980's with her hit song "I Think We're Alone Now". Sean then met Kelly McCormick, a very intense and emotional intersex (hermaphrodite is the old-fashioned term) person who was also obsessed with Tiffany, who became obsessed after a prophetic vision of the singer in a coma, thinks she and Tiffany are destined to be together. I Think We're Alone Now is a funny and sad look at fandom, stalking, and obsession.
Sara June is an Austin/LA comedian and California native. Online, she's best known for creating the 2011 viral video “Nyan Cat”. Offline, she's best known for being racially ambiguous and forcing live comedy on dive bar patrons. She also makes surreal sketch videos with her group Slobs that have screened at festivals like Hell Yes Fest, Seattle Sketchfest and Los Angeles Film Festival.

On Episode 11 Paco and George caught up with musician Dan Deacon right before his set at Outside Lands Music Festival, and we chatted about the infamous and iconic doc Gimme Shelter (1970 film). The original location for the famed concert was right where this interview took place! Gimme Shelter is a 1970 documentary film directed by Albert and David Maysles and Charlotte Zwerin chronicling the last weeks of The Rolling Stones' 1969 US tour which culminated in the disastrous Altamont Free Concert. Great talk!

On Episode 10 of Sup Doc Paco and George sit down with writer/performer/sex worker Queenie Bon Bon. They discuss the 2012 documentary Meet The Fokkens a delightfully odd tale about familial bonds, getting older, and the lengths some women go to in order to survive. Few characters in documentary history are as hilarious and adorable as 69-year old Dutch twin prostitutes Louise and Martine Fokkens.
Here is the link to the documentaries Queenie Bon Bon recommends: The Scarlet Road and Beyond The Screams
