Show notes

Happy Stranger Things Day my Stranger Friends! Though we didn't get a premiere date, it has been narrowed down to a season. And although we didn't get a proper season 4 trailer yet, we did get our final teaser that I attempt to dissect like a frog in an 80s movie science class. Sure I forgot to mention the incredible poster that was created by artist Kyle Lambert. And, looking back on the teaser video again maybe when I said Eleven was on a bus she might be being held on a van, but I'm still psyched with what we got today and hope you listen and enjoy me talking about it. Stranger Danger Book Club: “Stranger Things and Dungeons & Dragons” Nov 03, 2021

Show notes

The book club is finally back as I take you on an adventure through the pages of the Dark Horse comic collection, “Stranger Things and Dungeons & Dragons” - written by Jody Houser and Jim Zub. I also talk about some upcoming Stranger Things happenings (Stranger Happenings?), about something I missed about the Creel House video - and there's a musical performance by the band Extreme....eh, okay that last part is a lie (kinda sorta). But the rest all happened - listen to prove I'm telling the truth!

BONUS : "Stranger Things 4 | Creel House" Sep 26, 2021

Show notes

With today's "Tudum" special from Netflix, you knew SOMETHING was going to be coming from the Stranger Things camp. While we didn't get a full fledged trailer, we did get another teaser video titled, "Creel House."

What did we learn? Well, we pretty much know what that house was our friends were lurking in, and why they were there. We just don't know the WHY to why they were there? So of course that leads to all kinds of speculation. But what the hell else are we going to do with our time! So Mike talks about it for a little while and tries to figure out what exactly we are looking at. Stay stranger!

Stranger Danger Book Club: “Rebel Robin” Aug 06, 2021

Show notes

I got an email today (4/8/2022) from my podcast host that this episode was taken down because of a 3rd-party music rights claim. I am not sure if it was because of the podcast clip or the music I used but hopefully I edited it enough that this one can stay up (I don't have the original audio so if it sounds like it starts a little weird - this is why! See you soon Stranger Friends!)

Stranger Friends, the Book Club is back in session as today I talk about the 2021 Stranger Things novel, “Rebel Robin” written by author A.R. Capetta. I really REALLY enjoyed this book and I hope that comes across in this episode as I attempt to discuss in as much detail as my brain allows. I also talk about the tie in podcast, “Rebel Robin: Surviving Hawkins” which you can find on Spotify and Apple Podcasts (and pretty much anywhere podcasts are available). Follow author A.R. Capetta on Instagram at @ar_capetta or check out A.R. Capetta’s website at OnceAndFutureStories.com.

Stranger Danger Book Club: “Zombie Boys” Jul 22, 2021

Show notes

Stranger Friends, the Book Club is back in session! Today I go through the Dark Horse comics graphic novel, "Zombie Boys" from January 2020. It's a fairly standalone story but starring our favorite boys who are trying to deal with what they just went through back in 1983 (right after season one!) and meet a new friends along the way. It is a real fun read with some touching moments and some terrific art. I hope you get a chance to check it out before listening!

This episode also features a song from Jamie T. I'd never heard of him before finding this track, but I may have to check out more of what he does because I really enjoyed this song.

BONUS: "HNL Control Room Video" May 06, 2021

Show notes

Today, the crew over at Stranger Things really knocked Cinco De Mayo out of the park. First they tweet out “Are you ready?” and then they tweet out this video with 9 clock emojis followed by an exploding head:

The description of this video reads: “Due to technical difficulties, Hawkins National Laboratory will be closed until further notice. We will be back in service tomorrow at 9:00AM ET.”

SOMETHING is coming tomorrow at 9am! Oh it’s so close but so far away. So I figured I’d talk about what was in that video in the meantime. Enjoy!
