Strange Bedfellows

Latest Episodes:

SB 037 - "Dirty Dancing," directed by Emile Ardolino May 30, 2022

Show notes

This week, a film that is about so much more than dancing, but the dirty kind. To be clear, it's mostly about the dirty kind of dancing — that's really the main thrust of what the film's about — but also more. Like, did you know that the sequel to this movie was written by some guy from some other thing? Wow. Interesting stuff. Also, Jeff and Elmer are back. We missed those guys!

SB 036 - "Your Name," directed by Makoto Shinkai May 23, 2022

Show notes

This week, a genuinely beautiful film that answers the age-old question: What would you do if you magically swapped bodies with another Japanese teen and fell hopelessly in love with them but couldn't remember their name because of a complicated "Back to the Future"-esque temporal paradox situation?

SB 029 - "The Bromance Book Club," by Lyssa Kay Adams Mar 28, 2022

Show notes

"The Bromance Book Club" is a fun, funny, and sexy novel about a group of men who help their friend save his marriage with the help of tropes from the saucy romances they read together. It has absolutely no connection whatsoever with either the 1984 animated film The Transformers: The Movie or the more recent live action Michael Bay Transformers movies, so while some light discussion of those lovable robots in disguise is inevitable, please don't expect TOO much Transformers talk in this episode.
