I didn’t have the best start in life. My parents were very poor. We lived in a very small house and life was a struggle. But then one day that all changed. My life suddenly got a whole lot better.

I had always been jealous of the other kids at my school. Whatever they wanted, they got. They all had the trendiest clothes and the latest new phone. I didn’t even have a phone. All my clothes were handed down from my older sister. Most of them had stains on and my shoes had holes in the soles.

The other kids at school would laugh at me and call me names. I just wanted to be like them. My Mom and Dad both worked hard. But they didn’t have jobs that paid well.

I’m Joseph and I’m only fourteen years old but I’ve had quite a rough life so far. When I was three years old, my parents died in a plane crash and nobody else in my family wanted to take care of me. So I was sent straight into foster care. I’ve been in and out of several foster homes and I’ve never been lucky enough to get adopted. But I’m okay though. For the past three years I’ve been sharing a home with 8 other kids. To be honest this has been my most comfortable foster home so far. My foster parents don’t really pay much attention to us so we do what we feel like doing most of the time. Everything was as normal as it could be for foster kids until one calm day in the summer.

I wasn’t a very good student. I was always getting into trouble at school. I spent a lot of my days being sent to the principal’s office. But the worst thing that happened was the time I got locked in my classroom overnight.

The day had started off quite well. I woke up on time for a change. Normally I would be running out of the house with a piece of toast in my mouth, hoping to get to school before the bell rang. This day I actually had time to eat my breakfast before setting off for school. I walked to school with my best mate Tim. We had been friends since we were 3 years old. Now we were in high school.

I grew up poor. And when I say poor, I mean poor. I was homeless. My parents had abandoned me when I was just a toddler. My uncle had managed to raise me himself, but eventually he died when I was just 13 years old. I didn't want to move into a foster home, and definitely not an orphanage, so I decided to run away. I learned to live on my own, and I managed to get by. But it was hard. Very hard. Let me tell you my story.

It was hard learning how to survive on my own. I only had a few belongings, and no money at all. It was also pretty dangerous for a young girl like me to live out on the streets. But I taught how to defend myself, and pretty soon I was part of a gang of homeless people, and we all looked out for each other.

I Googled My teacher And Found Out His Disturbing Truth Apr 19, 2022

Mr. Anderson was my favourite teacher. He taught History class, and he always seemed to make the most boring subjects feel so interesting. He was by far the best teacher at my school - maybe even the country. But he was hiding a secret from all of us. A disturbing truth. But, more on that later.

I wasn't exactly a good student. I mean, sure, I wasn't one of the worst students, but I wasn't exactly always on time with my homework and assignments. My other teachers never liked me because of this, and that's why I never liked them. But not Mr. Anderson. He made me want to try my best in History class. I wanted to make him proud, and so did everyone else in the class. It wasn't a coincidence that History was my best subject.

My brother Tom and I had always been close. We did everything together. Growing up we were never apart. I couldn’t imagine my life without him. I never thought I would one day have to choose between saving his life or my girlfriend's.

We grew up in a small country town. There weren't many kids in our area. The local school only had 50 students. I think that's why my brother Tom and I spent all of our time together. We weren’t just brothers, we were best friends.

I always knew my Mom didn’t really want me. You see, when I was born, Mom already had two daughters. My older sisters Liane and Kelly. The last thing she needed was another daughter. I knew she had really wanted a baby boy. It was no surprise when I found out she was trying to replace me.

I think I was about 4 years old when I first realised I was a disappointment to my parents. Oh, they never made me feel that way. Mom was always telling me how much she loved me. But I knew she would have loved a son more. My older sister Liane and I were having an argument when she said to me,

“Why couldn’t you have been a baby brother?”

My childhood was pretty basic. If anything, it was worse than basic. But everything changed one day, and I ended up becoming a billionaire. But more on that later. Make sure you stay tuned til the end of the video to find out how all of that craziness happened.

So, my childhood was way below average. I was an orphan, you see. My parents had abandoned me at the orphanage. My caretaker told me they probably couldn't care for me - they loved me, but they just felt I was better off at the orphanage. But I always felt… abandoned. Like they didn't want me, or didn't need me. I know that wasn't true, but… that's just how I felt.

My school used to hold loads of dances. My friends would always be on the dancefloor, surrounded by boys, but I preferred to stay on the side drinking punch. It’s not that I wasn’t pretty, I knew I was just as pretty as my friends, I just didn’t care about boys. Like, at all. When I saw my friends with their boyfriends, I gagged. They all looked super gross to me. But that’s mostly because my friends had and have super bad taste. I was at a school dance one day when they finally convinced me to talk to a boy.
