This week true believers, Beyonders, Fanboys, Fangirls, respected aliens around the galaxy, The Champion of the Multiverse; Mark Hurliman, and your Count of 2 Continuities; Nathan P. Butler sit down to discuss Brian Wood’s Star Wars Vol 2, issues 13, and 14 entitled: Five Days of Sith! Strap in and tighten your crash webbing Fandom, Star Wars Beyond the Films is setting off on another rapid-fire trip into the galaxy far, far away!
This episode your hosts discuss things like:
-As always the hosts stay SPOILER-FREE at the start, just jump off at their SPOILER-WARNING; Tarkin’s Arrogance. (26 min)
-They discuss the odd order to the series in both terms of singles and collection in Trade Paperbacks.
-They ponder how Marvel’s new canon materials will be collected, vs how Dark Horse would break up arcs into Trades and Omnibi.
-Vader, a Man obsessed once more. First Jedi, now Rebels.
-Does a new continuity really make a difference? The hosts note how some plots are reoccuring in Marvel’s new line, and yet the hosts seem more forgiving of a NEW CANON retreading old ground vs retcons.
-Ensign Nanda; a true diverse character, who slides under our radars.
-The Tarkin Doctrine in action, even in the Grand Moff himself isn’t
-Trooper detachments so top secret one needs special clearance to read their dossier.
-Bounties, the MilNet, and how the two together can really mess up your day.
-And more! Like that creepy crawly feeling your skin gets when you use the fresher and think of the Dread Lord himself….
Your hosts also cover the two covers of the single issues.
Once more your hosts cover entirely too much Sith Imperial action this episode. But don’t worry, give it a go; you’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you might even get a little education on Star Wars while you’re at it. But no matter how you slice it and dice it, you’ll be having another adventure Beyond the Films. So sit back, hang on, enjoy the show, and may the Force be with you!
