    Show notes

GATORS WIN IN AUSTIN! Florida went into DKR as an 11.5-point underdog, fell behind 17-3, and then scored 24 straight points to knock off No. 7 Texas, 27-24. Dan, Nick, Corry, and Jordan break down the comeback, the backup QB who made his first start, and Jon Sumrall wearing a cowboy hat out of the stadium.

🐊 This week on Stadium and Gale:

Tramell Jones Jr. answers the call: With Aaron Philo out with a shoulder injury, Jones made his first career start and went 22-of-35 for 155 yards and 2 TDs, plus 41 yards rushing
The 4th-and-12 gamble: Down 17-3 with 56 seconds left in the half, Sumrall passed on a 53-yard field goal and went for it. The drive ended in a TD to Lacota Dippre before halftime
Lacota Dippre’s two-touchdown day: He scored before the half and again on the opening drive of the 3rd quarter, a 15-play, 69-yard drive that took 8+ minutes and tied it 17-17
Jadan Baugh carries the load: 25 carries for 91 yards, including the 11-yard TD that made it 27-17
Defense closes it out: Myles Graham sacked Arch Manning and forced a fumble, and Kanye Clark recovered it with 1:58 left. Texas was held to 272 total yards, Florida’s best defensive game of the season
Owning the clock: 38:11 time of possession and 21 first downs to Texas’s 13
The history: Florida’s first-ever road win over Texas, its largest road comeback against a ranked SEC team, and its highest-ranked road win since the Tebow-era win at No. 4 LSU
The cowboy hat: Sumrall walked out of Austin in a cowboy hat, and the Gators flipped the “Hook ’em” sign on the field
The Easton Royal flip: Six days before kickoff, 5-star 2027 WR Easton Royal (New Orleans, La.) flipped his commitment from Texas to Florida
What’s next: A bye week, then Georgia on Halloween. The Dawgs come in after losing to Auburn

483: Game Day Eve: Florida Gators vs. Texas Longhorns ft. Rick Wells Oct 16, 2026
    Show notes

Two straight blowout losses, a banged-up quarterback, and a trip to Austin to face a Texas team that just lost its No. 1 ranking. It’s Game Day Eve, and here’s everything you need before Saturday’s noon kickoff.

    🐊 What we’re covering:

The QB question. Aaron Philo (shoulder) is questionable. If he can’t go, Tramell Jones Jr. makes his first career start.
Jadan Baugh needs a big day. He had four straight 100-yard games, then 72 total yards over the last two. Florida is 9-0 over the last three seasons when he goes for 100.
Will Muschamp vs. Florida. The former Gators head coach now runs a Texas defense that allows 16 points per game.
Colin Simmons. The Texas edge rusher leads the country with 9.5 sacks. Florida’s tackles are in for a long afternoon.
Arch Manning after the Red River loss. Two interceptions and six sacks against Oklahoma. Can Florida’s defense take advantage?
Injury watch. Vernell Brown III, Bailey Stockton and Duke Clark
Picks and predictions. Texas -11.5, and the total is 51.5.

482: "Do It For Yourself" Oct 11, 2026
    Show notes

The Swamp booed at homecoming. Florida lost 38-19 to South Carolina, its second straight lopsided loss, and the No. 1 team in the country is up next. Here’s what went wrong and where the Gators go from here.

    🐊 THE GAME

South Carolina 38, Florida 19. It’s Florida’s first loss to the Gamecocks since 2021 and its second-most lopsided loss in the series.
LaNorris Sellers had a career kind of day: 23-of-35 for 279 yards, 4 passing TDs and a rushing TD, with zero turnovers.
Three Florida turnovers: two Aaron Philo interceptions? No. Philo threw one interception and lost a fumble, and Tramell Jones Jr. threw a late interception. South Carolina had none.
A fast start that faded: Philo hit Bailey Stockton for a 59-yard TD on the third play of the game. Stockton finished with 8 catches for 127 yards.
The end of the first half: Florida settled for a field goal from the SC 9. Then Vicari Swain’s interception set up a Gamecock TD, Florida let the clock run, and Patrick Durkin missed a 43-yarder as time expired.
Sumrall owns it: “I’m frustrated with every part of what we did today. It starts with me.”

    📉 THE BIGGER PICTURE

Florida started 4-0 and climbed into the Top 10, and is now 4-2 (2-2 SEC) after a 45-17 loss at Missouri and this one.
Injuries: WR Vernell Brown III (knee) missed a second straight game, and RB Duke Clark (ankle) left in the first quarter.
Next: at No. 1 Texas on Saturday at noon, then a bye, then No. 2 Georgia in Atlanta.

Getting Jadan Baugh going. He was held to 13 yards after five straight 135+ yard games
The LaNorris Sellers problem. Can Florida’s defense contain a dual-threat QB for the third straight week?
Dylan Stewart’s return? South Carolina’s star edge rusher is reportedly back from suspension

479: "Get the Donut Out" Oct 04, 2026
    Show notes

The Gators came into Columbia ranked No. 8 and left with a 45-17 beatdown. Jon Sumrall didn't hold back afterward: "Embarrassing performance in every phase. Starts with the coaching, starts with me." We break down what went wrong, who has to answer for it, and whether this team can regroup before South Carolina comes to The Swamp.

    🐊 In this episode:

The final: No. 25 Missouri 45, No. 8 Florida 17. Florida drops to 4-1 (2-1 SEC) after a 4-0 start that included wins over Auburn and No. 4 Ole Miss.
Run game shut down: Jadan Baugh was held to 13 yards on 12 carries, and Florida averaged 1.7 yards per carry behind an O-line with four new starters.
Defense gashed: Missouri's Jamal Roberts ran for 211 yards and 3 TDs, and Austin Simmons went 23-of-30 for 340 yards and 2 TDs.
Bryce Thornton out: the senior safety tweaked something before the game, and the secondary had nothing to lean on without him.
Aaron Philo's day: 21-of-34, 1 TD to Dallas Wilson, sacked 3 times.
Penalties: holds that wiped out touchdowns, plus personal fouls.
Sumrall unfiltered: "sick to my freaking stomach," "I don't know that we're a very mature team yet," and why accountability starts with him.
What's next: South Carolina at home Oct. 10, then at No. 1 Texas and Georgia in Atlanta. Is the Playoff still in play?
