Is Battle March A Better Way to Play? | Warhammer the Old World | Square Based Show Oct 16, 2025

Show notes

This week, Rob and Val have a smorgasbord of Old World topics to get through: from community updates to grand conspiracies. We're kicking things off with the latest on Square Based Open Toronto and the Cali Cup before diving into the community's entirely... spirited feedback on the Square Based Comp system.

After that, we're dusting off the tin foil hats to analyze the new Warhammer Quest box and what it might imply about the infamous "schism" between GW's studios.

The main event, however, is a full deep dive into the official "Battle March" small-game format. Is it the perfect on-ramp for new players, or just a clever way to fill pages in an Arcane Journal?

CHAPTERS
0:00 - Introduction & Event Updates
3:52 - The "Square Based Comp" & State of the Scene
26:53 - The "Schism" Returns: Analyzing the New Warhammer Quest Box
39:17 - Deep Dive: The "Battle March" Small Game Format
59:05 - Looking Ahead: What's Next for The Old World?
