Mikey hosts Jordan, Stevie, and Josh in spoiling and reviewing 1988's fantasy "classic" from George Lucas and Ron Howard: Willow! The evil queen Bavmorda (Jean Marsh) wields black magic to conquer the land and enslave its people. She fears the birth of a child with a peculiar birthmark because prophecies foretell that the child will bring about her downfall. Bavmorda imprisons all the expecting mothers and the child of the prophecy is born. Before Bavmorda has a chance to kill the baby girl (Kate Greenfield and Ruth Greenfield), the midwife escapes with her. She sends the blessed baby downstream on a raft. The child washes up near a village inhabited by a race of dwarf-like people called Nelwyns. Willow Ufgood (Warwick Davis), the farmer and amateur magician who finds the baby, is chosen by the town council to return the child to the world of the "large people," or Daikini. Against their better judgment, Willow and his friend Meegosh (David Steinberg) entrust the baby to the first Daikini they meet, a renegade warrior named Madmartigan (Val Kilmer). Show notes

Pappy and Jordan review (with spoilers) what could be the last movie for Daniel Day-Lewis but is the latest film from Paul Thomas Anderson: 2017's Phantom Thread. Set in the glamour of 1950’s post-war London, renowned dressmaker Reynolds Woodcock (Daniel Day-Lewis) and his sister Cyril (Lesley Manville) are at the center of British fashion, dressing royalty, movie stars, heiresses, socialites, debutantes and dames with the distinct style of The House of Woodcock. Women come and go through Woodcock’s life, providing the confirmed bachelor with inspiration and companionship, until he comes across a young, strong-willed woman, Alma (Vicky Krieps), who soon becomes a fixture in his life as his muse and lover. Once controlled and planned, he finds his carefully tailored life disrupted by love. With his latest film, Paul Thomas Anderson paints an illuminating portrait both of an artist on a creative journey, and the women who keep his world running. Ice Pirates (1984) - Movie Review! #144 Jan 12, 2018
    Show notes

Pappy, Stevie and Josh think back on the life and times of Papa John then get into the real stuff. Ice Pirates, from 1984. ********************* In the far future water is the most valuable substance. Two space pirates are captured, sold to a princess, and recruited to help her find her father who disappeared when he found information dangerous to the rulers. A real Space Opera with sword fights, explosions, fighting robots, monsters, bar fights and time warps. In this undistinguished parody of the sci fi genre, Robert Urich is Jason who leads a band of pirates in redistributing the wealth of the few to the coffers of the needy. He also joins up with Princess Karina Mary Crosby in searching for her father and a possible source of water in the next galaxy. Meant to be a campy romp through the sci fi genre, the film stops short of achieving a goal that should have been effortless. Rating: PG Genre: Action & Adventure, Comedy, Science Fiction & Fantasy Directed By: Stewart Raffill Written By: Stanford Sherman In Theaters: Mar 16, 1984 Wide On Disc/Streaming: Feb 15, 2005 Runtime: 91 minutes Studio: MGM/UA Entertainment Company Bruce Vilamch Robert Urich as Jason Mary Crosby as Princess Karina Anjelica Huston as Maida John Carradine as Supreme Commander Michael D.
