I’m back after a wild weekend, nothing kicks off a chaotic few nights like unexpectedly running into your ex - then catching your friends on tour at a live podcast show (shoutout to the 'You Should Know' team). Amid all the partying, I ended up having one of the most reflective weekends I’ve had in a while. Of course, it wouldn’t be a proper week in music without talking about Drake. He’s back (again), this time with a new single featuring Central Cee and another livestream. Then we get into some legal drama: GloRilla was arrested shortly after her home was burglarized—a story that took me back to the time my apartment in Chicago got broken into. We wrap up today with some movie talk: I just saw the new Superman movie and I’ve got thoughts about how the story mirrored the current political climate. And expect a lot more film reviews— I finally caved and bought the Regal Unlimited Movie Pass. Tune in as I discuss all of this + more!

Today I'm joined by one of my good friends in the music industry. Jordan is the "face of Complex" - he's all over their socials sitting down with your favorite artists or getting tossed in a mosh pit. Jordan and I speak plenty off camera about the state of music. He's finally joining me on the podcast after we spent the 4th of July weekend together. We do deep dives into both Clipse & Justin Bieber's albums. Then we discuss Drake's headlining weekend at Wireless Festival. We discuss the ongoing SZA v.s. Nicki Minaj beef and the dangers of 'stan culture'. Tune in as we talk about all of this + more!

I HAVE A NEW SET!! (watch on YouTube) As expected, Daddy Trump delivered on another promise. I'm kidding - why would you ever go so far as releasing files you paraded around the white house lawn. Will this be the lie that ends MAGA? I offer my opinion on why this could fracture the MAGA faithful. Then I transition to the NYC mayoral race and discuss the ramifications for the Democrat Party. We end with sending condolences to the victims of the Texas floods. Tune in as I discuss all of this + more! P.S. don't worry, I'll be back shortly to talk Drake at Wireless, The Clipse album, & Justin Bieber.

SWWP #25 - Drake ' What Did I Miss?' & Glastonbury Backlash Jul 08, 2025

Welcome back after a long holiday weekend. There's no time for the pleasantries of recapping the weekend, we can save that for later. I have some criticism for Drake's latest single "What Did I Miss?" Does Drake have the stink? Staying in music, but pivoting to global-political news, Bob Vylan has become the villain of the establishment. We're seeing a takedown like no other as hundreds continue to parish while trying to receive aid. I provide a historical breakdown of musicians using live festivals as an opportunity to protest wars. I return to voicemails today with a fun one. Can you take your new girlfriend to a beach where you vacationed with an ex? Tune in as I discuss all of this + more!

SWWP #24 - Bas & The Hics Jul 01, 2025

Show notes

☎️ Wanna be part of the show? Call 877-557-SWWP and leave a voicemail to get advice!

Today we're joined by a few fiends, Bas and The Hics. They're fresh off the release of their collaborative album 'Melanchronica'. We start with how Sam & Roxanne first met at an arts high school and how Bas (while on acid) connected with them during a J. Cole tour in Europe. They reminisce on recording their early collaborative records and how recording together has evolved over the years. They share what they wants listeners to feel this new album and making music that evolves with their personal growth. Bas shares a story about "Everyday People" and how his brother DJ Moma literally let Nas down. Sam shares how the hook for this song "I just want to f*ck no more fighting" was a tough lyric for his grandmother to hear. They share how family can influence how they express themselves through music. They share what music they listened to growing up and how video games (GTA) was a game where we all learned older music. They share which music genre they'd like to explore next. We get into the division of Bas & Sam's football (soccer) clubs, PSG v.s. Arsenal. This leads to a history lesson from the beef with the French and the origin of the cockney accent. Bas and I share our South African acid trip story and following the hyenas in the den. Sam and I take a bathroom, but Bas and Roxanne kept it rolling - Bas shares his DJ career aspirations as DJ BOMA. When I return we discuss our favorite films and English bathroom culture. We end by returning to the album and how through all the darkness there is hope and the opportunity for light to shine through, Tune in as Bas, Roxanne, Sam and I discuss all of this + more!

We discuss the toxic Work Environment and my "relationship" with Joe Budden. We take a brief detour to discuss Drake & Kendrick and stay on beef with my experience with Mal. Then Danny can't help himself from dragging Demaris for no reason. We pivot to the night with Eddin Incident & the deleted episode. Danny asks me about my response on episode 20 and my impact on the show. I open up about my depressive state and what led me to where I am now. Then we end on a recap of my fun weekend with my parents.

SWWP #22 - No Kings, ICE, Iran, & Kendrick In Canada Jun 17, 2025

Show notes

☎️ Wanna be part of the show? Call 877-557-SWWP and leave a voicemail to get advice!

I'm back in the big apple, aka the home of 9/11 the place of the lost towers. We come in real hot with politics. Kings suck, and the rest of the country seems to be on board with that assertion - the problem is our current administration doesn't care. Stepping outside of civil unrest and stepping into geo-political conflict (which we're also somehow also involved) Iran retaliates to Israel's strikes. In hiphop news, the conflict continues - Kendrick conquered Canada for a weekend leading Drake to take subtle jabs on social media. Then I talk about the Stanley Cup, the NBA Finals, & an upcoming weekend full of concerts with the fam. Tune in for all of this + more! Happy Father's Day
