SWWP #68 (LIVE) - Wayno & Ray Daniels, Nolan Wells, Ye Tour, 'Tony' Movie, Relationship Drama Aug 18, 2026

Show notes

Hey Everyone,

We're back with another livestream. Just a reminder, this audio version is a cutdown of a livestream that I do Monday 8pm.

We jump right in with the Wayno & Ray Daniels beef which escalated after Wayno signed with Charlamagne's Black Effect Network.

The kids that were on the boat with Nolan Wells, the black teen that was found d*ad after a boat party, did a joint interview. I hate it - this has become a circus.

Should the parents of Celeste and D4vid be held accountable?

In music news, Is Birds In The Trap Sing Mcknight better than Astroworld? and Ye is back on tour and it looks incredible. Pivoting to film, go watch the 'Tony'. It's a glimpse into a young Anthony Bourdain's life.

Now for the fun part: I lend some advice to a few people in the chat. Their questions lead to a great conversation.

Tune in for all of this + more!

SWWP #67 (LIVE) - J Cole Tour, Bill Splitting, WNBA Political Circus Aug 11, 2026

Show notes

Welcome back to another fun one! I kick things off with my experience at a couple of J. Cole’s NYC shows and share a conversation I had with Cole himself. If you haven’t seen The Fall-Off Tour yet, I highly recommend grabbing a ticket.

Then we get into the mess. First up: the Queen Naija dinner bill fiasco. She was out to dinner with two other couples when an argument broke out over who should pay. Of course, the entire thing ended up playing out on livestream.

And just when you thought the mess couldn’t get messier, we get into the WNBA. With former NBA players now declaring for the WNBA Draft, the conversation has quickly become about much more than basketball. The league finds itself at the center of a growing political divide.

Tune in as I discuss all of these topics + more!

SWWP #64 - USA Eliminated, Hip-Hop Art Curation, & AI Data Centers Jul 07, 2026

Show notes

We finally made it through the heatwave, but Team USA couldn't make it through the Round of 16. I'm recording this immediately after the U.S.'s 4-1 loss to Belgium, breaking down what went wrong, what this tournament revealed about American soccer, and why the sport still struggles to compete with the nation's four major sports.

From there, I shift to hip-hop and unpack Lil Wayne's disappointing tour before diving into a bigger conversation sparked by Jay-Z's latest exhibit. Why aren't more artists creating institutions that preserve and celebrate hip-hop culture? We need more spaces dedicated to its history.

Finally, I dive into my latest obsession (and frustration): AI data centers. They are popping up in communities everywhere, even though almost nobody wants them nearby. Why are they expanding so rapidly and what can everyday people actually do about it?

Tune in as I discuss all of this + more!

SWWP #63 - Untold J. Cole Story Jun 23, 2026

Show notes

Hey Everyone,

I'm happy to be back from NYC, home of the world champion New York Knicks. I was thrilled to return just in time for the parade this past Thursday and spent the entire day out in the streets celebrating.

Over the weekend, I attended a PSG event where Bas and Ferg performed. During the event, Bas and Ib, J. Cole's manager, shared a great story about how their relationship with PSG first began. Luckily, I was recording and included the video in this episode.

I also caught up with a friend who was in town for a gallery showing. Rhymelikedymez is an artist I interviewed years ago for Hot 97, and since then he's worked with artists and brands connected to Tyler, The Creator, Anderson .Paak, the Mac Miller Estate, and many more. It was great to reconnect and see his latest work.

Of course, I couldn't leave out sports. I dive into some of the latest NBA trade rumors and discuss the growing excitement surrounding the World Cup!

SWWP #61 - Jay-Z Roots Picnic Freestyle Reaction Jun 02, 2026

Show notes

Reporting live from Mexico City, I'm back on my solo travel grind, soaking up culture and exploring the city. But even after leaving the country, I couldn't escape the shockwaves Jay-Z sent through hip-hop this past weekend at Roots Picnic.

I break down the lyrics, subliminals, and disses throughout his performance, then dive into whether this moment is ultimately good for hip-hop and what it means in the context of J. Cole's decision to step away from the beef years ago.

From there, I pivot to a couple of films I recently caught in theaters. If you're a cinephile, or even just a casual moviegoer, you've probably heard the buzz around 'Obsession' and 'Backrooms'. I give my thoughts on both and discuss why they're generating so much conversation.

I also spend some time talking about my NBA Finals-bound Knicks. Tune in for all of this and more!
