"Welcome to Australia?" with gough | The World’s First Blind Filmmaker Dec 19, 2017
    Show notes

gough. No, I don’t have a cold, that is the name of this week’s guest. gough is a world-touring comedian, an author and an accomplished filmmaker. Where that would make most people pretty interesting, gough has one more trick up his sleeve… he is BLIND! Did you hear that? He makes movies for the eyes and he is legally blind!!! Not only that, but his films are good! gough runs Beernuts Productions which produces audio, film and books and is currently promoting his latest book, his latest film and his most recent audio dramas… and he STILL had time to do this show. Awesome!

If you would like to rent this space, it’s pretty inexpensive and wouldn’t it be fun to have a message just for someone you know to hear? Or maybe promote something you are doing? And do it for as little as $11? I think you do, and I suggest going to sketchcomedypodcastshow.com and look at the top for the “Pay for Time” link.

Traveling is so much fun! Sometimes you are on your way out to see family, or sometimes you are going to an event or to see the sights… sometimes it’s just about seeing someplace new and you have no idea what it is you are expecting to see! When I travel, I know I do it with intent… to duck creditors.

Thank you again to gough. If you haven’t already done so, go to www.beernutsproductions.com and check out all of gough’s really great entertainment that you can get! He offers a wonderful documentary for free (his first film and the first movie directed by someone vision-impaired) called “I Will Not Go Quietly” which is a little serious, but a majority of his content is right up your alley! Definitely check out his mockumentaries, he has some hilarious stuff in a genre that I never feel gets enough attention.

Boy, it’s been a bit of a sausage-fest as of late, let’s get a woman back on! Next week’s episode will be featuring Ash Brown, an entrepreneur who does almost everything and will absolutely be on time for your wedding. Find out more next week!

Special Guest: gough | The World's First Blind Filmaker.

    • I Will Not Go Quietly - Beernuts Productions - FREE MOVIE DOWNLOAD! — This is the FREE documentary and the world's first full-length film directed by someone legally blind! It's serious, but the content is good and you will likely be pulled into this movie about mental illness.

"Where's the Box?" with Colin Gray | Creator of The Podcast Host Academy Nov 27, 2017
    Show notes

    Watch the sketch on YouTube!:

    https://youtu.be/KRcU5643A1k

Colin Gray can’t help himself, he tends to get far too into whatever interests him. Sometimes it’s craft beer, sometimes it’s mountain biking, but one of them, listening to podcasts, led to Colin creating an entire academy and community for creating podcasts. Colin helps people take their podcast to the next level, you can go to the podcasthost.com and check out all of the cool things there, including his podcast “Podcraft” and his new, fantastical show “Hostile Worlds”. Colin is also currently working on software that will automate the editing of podcasts… truly we are minutes away from being taken over by the machines.

We uncover the mystery that is “Ironic” by Alanis Morissette. That song went from really stupid to really brilliant very quickly for me.

It’s finally up! Yup! Buy time on the show! You can buy up to 3 minutes at a time and pricing is ridiculously cheap right now. The beautiful thing about it, this pricing is going to go up, in fact, it will likely go up every single week, so buy-in early and take advantage of me!

    This week’s sketch:

Come rain, or snow, or zombie apocalypse, we trust our packages will be delivered. Sure, sometimes the package doesn’t arrive on-time, and sometimes it is mis-delivered, but we can always rely on the fact that eventually, through some method, our packages will get to where they need to go eventually. Maybe it’s time to get out of the “Cat in a Box” pet delivery service I have so heavily invested in.

Promoting a podcast? Sure, I think it is incredibly expensive! So, instead of trying to figure out where to spend your money, spend it with me and buy some time on the podcast! Just go to http://bit.ly/SCPSbuytime! These shows are evergreen, so buying in early will mean that people will hear it for YEARS to come!

Next week’s episode has gough! No, that isn’t a word I just made up, gough is a filmmaker and comedian who has traveled all over the place! What makes him special? He is the first blind filmmaker. He is a really interesting and fun guy and you can listen to him excitedly talk about his new projects on next week’s show!

"(Maybe Not Your) Fantasy Camp" with Frank Cardillo | Award-Winning Improvisor and Writer Nov 13, 2017
    Show notes

    Watch the sketch on YouTube:

    https://youtu.be/JCTJvfcjl8w

Frank Cardillo likes to perform in front of people and have them laugh at him… intentionally. Frank has been hard at work doing comedy, improv and theater for the last two decades, including Super Bowl XLVIII, Universal Studios, Disney World, emcee at the Sterling Renaissance Festival and is currently the host of “The Improvisor’s Guide Podcast”. We talk a little about baseball, fantasy camps and working in theme parks and end up recording a sketch!

I’ve finally done it! There is now a section on the website for you to buy some time here, in this exact location, to have me shout out something to the world! Maybe you want me to just yell your name, or maybe you want me to propose to someone for you. Perhaps it’s an ad… I don’t know if I really care! Okay, I do somewhat care, and there are certain guidelines that are on the page to sign up. It’s easy to do and there are a couple of other things you can pay me to do as well! For now, this is how I’m going to pay for all of this madness, let’s see if it works!

Make believe. We stopped playing it for the most part as we got older, but I can remember being in my front yard, throwing a ball up in the air and swinging my Wiffle bat trying to connect and imagining myself in the clutch during the World Series. I also remember grabbing sticks and imagining they are swords and fighting dragons. As I’ve grown older, I see my kids play make believe, and I see my son doing the same sorts of things that I used to do… man, I hope I didn’t look that goofy.

I like to make suggestions for podcasts to listen to after you are done with this podcast. I need some help, I am out of podcasts that I actually listen to! If you have a podcast you would like me to suggest at this point, please send an email to sketchcomedypodcastshow@gmail.com and let me know what show you think more people should be listening to!

Next episode’s guest is going to be with Colin Gray, a podcaster’s podcaster who helps poor shlubs like myself make these silly programs. He has a great podcast called “Podcraft” that will either help you start or make your existing podcast better. He also launched a very cool and very popular podcast called “ “. They explore different planets… It’s so cool!

Have you ever had that dream that you wanted to direct and write the movie that you always wanted to watch? I bet you have, you’ve imagined it, but you haven’t done a single thing to get it done. This week’s guest, Ben Fancher, is absolutely going to make the horror movie of his dreams… and he works a retail job during the day! You can just hear the excitement and passion in his voice as he talks about building this movie. I for one am really looking forward to it! You can connect with Ben via all the social media channels to keep up with his progress , link is at the bottom of the show notes.

Let me tell you my favorite thing about this show: all of the episodes are still really listenable. Make sure that if you like this show, or don’t like this show, you can take a look at all of the past episodes and maybe you can find something else you like! Head to sketchcomedypodcastshow.com and just scroll down the page!

Business opportunities abound all around us. See a need, fill it, and you can get rewarded handsomely for it. There are times that those business opportunities are not successful. Sometimes those opportunities are just downright stupid… but enough about Windows Phone.

Every episode I try to offer a suggestion of a podcast to listen to after this podcast. This week I suggest going back and listening to a couple of this show’s most popular episodes that you might have missed! Like episode 3 with Dr. Kiki Sanford, episode 23 with Katie BBB, episode 31 with Mike Phirman, and episode 36 with Rebecca Love. Links are below in the show notes and, of course, you can always just visit sketchcomedypodcastshow@gmail.com

Next week, we are going to connect with another podcast improvisor… and it won’t be an online fight, I promise. Frank Cardillo has “The Improvisor’s Guide Podcast” and it’s a fun time! See you next week!

"Father Time" with Jason Marshall | Comedian and Podcaster of the "We Don't Have Cookies" Podcast Oct 29, 2017
    Show notes

Watch the sketch on YouTube here:

    https://youtu.be/ELF8l-1NFYA

Jason Marshall has stories. On his podcast “We Don’t Have Cookies” he talks with guests each week about strange news stories from around the world and life in general with guest segments from a wide variety of people. I’ve been a guest twice! (Episodes in the show notes) Jason and I talk about living in a car, comedy, and, most importantly, “Father Time”. You have to listen to find out more, and why “Father Time” is far scarier because of FaceBook. Then we record a sketch about “Father Time” himself! After this episode, please go check out the episode that I was just on to find out who the “Dumbest Person in the World” is this week!

Look for the “We Don’t Have Cookies” episode released on October 22nd… because you will know one fo the guests for sure! Hint: It’s me. I’m on the show. Check the show notes below, but make sure you subscribe because it’s a really fun show even when I’m not on it!

    This week’s sketch:

When the phone rings, are you excited to grab it? Do you run to the phone in hopes of hearing from a loved one, a friend, a lover, or maybe you like answering the phone and hearing from that adorable girl that always informs you that you have been selected to participate in a vacation getaway package… Regardless, whatever your reason, it is still pretty much a crapshoot as to who is calling you. Sometimes you get unlucky and it turns out to be the person who actually owns the phone.

This week’s podcast you should listen to after this podcast (and now also after listening to “We Don’t Have Cookies”) is a suggestion from previous guest Eric Ackerson, who really likes the Armstrong & Getty Podcast. It is a podcast based on a morning radio show in the Bay Area which has comedy, news, etc. I have not listened to it yet, so I hope this isn’t just morning fart jokes but, even if it is, fart jokes are always funny.

Next episode is going to feature Ben Frasier, who is going to produce and direct a full length horror movie… while working retail! Hear more about that and our fun monster sketch next week! Oh shit, why didn’t I do this as a Halloween episode! D’oh!

    • Armstrong & Getty Podcast — Suggested by previous guest Eric Ackerson: The hugely popular weekday The Armstrong & Getty Show is wildly entertaining, informative and laugh-out-loud funny, with a mixture of political commentary, observations on local, national, and international news and reflections on social issues. Armstrong and Getty’s comedic delivery, great guests, and super-charged on-air personas have made The Armstrong & Getty Show a morning addiction for Bay Area talk radio listeners.
    • wedonthavecookies | SHOWS — The Best Chicken This week on the show Jason talks to improv podcaster Stuart Rice on the first half of the episode. They make history with the first ever guest's choice dumb*** of the year with the choice between a woman who baked a cake for an officer who arrested her with "sorry I tried to bite you" written on it and a California restaurant owner who proudly serves another restaurant's chicken. Cartoonist Sam Dealey drops in for the second half of the episode. They talk about what is going on with the cartoons for the the podcast's Facebook page, Sam's autism, a This or That scenario and the return of the sweet or psychotic segment. This week's guest segments are a song by Mike Phirman called Sketchy Dudes and Dave Nelson with Fake Advice for New Comics.

"Book of Love" with Eric Ackerson | VP of Marketing in Consumer Electronics Oct 23, 2017
    Show notes

This week’s guest on the show is someone who has seen me, literally, at my worst. Eric Ackerson is someone I met in the mid-90s and we spent a great deal of time during these very formative years. Drinking formative years, so that meant that there was a lot of learning and then a lot of forgetting. We both worked at the same company (Fry’s Electronics), we both had the same sort of career trajectory, but Eric did it right and found himself as a vice-president at a cool consumer electronics company. Meanwhile, I don’t know if anyone at the company I work at even really knows my name. Eric dishes all the dirt on me, and then we record a sketch about dating. Man, there is a lot of dirt on me.

Just to keep you up to date, there are some new enhanced versions of the sketches found on YouTube. They really are cool and I love that there is a visual companion to these sketches.

This weeks sketch: When you are looking for love, you will look for it anywhere. Maybe it’s in that weird smelling bottle you bought from that old gypsy lady at the bazaar. More than likely, you will find the answers you seek in a book. Knowledge is power, which is why it’s so important to read as much as you can and learn from other’s expertise and experience. Or Tinder. Tinder also works.

The podcast suggestion of the week is “We Don’t Have Cookies”. Every week, host Jason Marshall has people who are really funny on his show to talk about some of the weird things that happen in the world. It’s really good, and he has really funny guests on his show. I have no agenda in suggesting that you go listen to his show at all…

Next week’s guest is a crossover event! Jason Marshall has a podcast called “We Don’t Have Cookies” and I am a guest on his show on Monday, October 23rd! So, if you haven’t heard it yet, check the link at the bottom.

You have, no doubt, seen her acting skills in such movies as “Bikini Jones and the Temple of Eros”, “Cleavagefield” and “The Hills Have Thighs”. You haven’t? Are you sure? I’m pretty sure that you have had that night where nothing else was going on and you put HBO, Cinemax or one of those and caught a glimpse of this week’s guest Rebecca Love. Rebecca is an adult film actress who has been in over 60 films as well as guest appearances on Howard Stern. These days, she is more into doing other types of performances, such as stand-up and improv and has her own podcast called “Talking Dirty” where she and Joclyn Stone talk about the adult film industry. Don’t bolt to go listen yet, this show is pretty outstanding for that as well, and you can get a link to Rebecca’s show at the bottom of the show notes.

If you need a visual enhancement to your sketch listening, you can head over to this upstart website that is good for moving pictures… it’s called YouTube or something. Anyway, if you type in “Sketch Comedy Podcast Show” in the search bar, you can subscribe to the channel there and get notified about all of the new ENHANCED versions of the sketch! What makes it enhanced? Well, these videos actually have pictures that go along with and make the sketches funnier! Give it a shot! In fact, the sketch for this week is one of these enhanced videos so if you love it, please click “Subscribe” and let me know you want more!

Remember the first time you got behind the wheel of a car? It’s such an exhilarating experience, much like the same feeling one gets with a first sexual experience. Sometimes those things go hand-in-hand… and yet somehow cell phones are the worlds worst thing in a car.

Every week I like to suggest a different podcast to listen to after this one. This week, I’m going to suggest a podcast called “Escape Pod”. “Escape Pod” was one of the first podcasts that I originally downloaded onto my cool, pack-of-gum size iPod Shuffle back in the day. I love this show, because it brings really good, really cutting edge science fiction, my favorite genre, in less than an hour. They have great authors and fantastic readers. This week’s episode is “Ms. Figgle-DeBitt’s Home for Wayward A.I.’s”; I have not heard it yet but you can bet I’ll be listening soon!

Next week’s episode features a friend from a long time ago, Eric Ackerson, who is more than happy to completely embarrass me with stories from our youth… I would love to tell you not to listen but I have a feeling that now that I have told you how bad Eric makes me sound, you will no doubt listen in. It’s okay, it was time to lose this identity anyway.

"Don't Forget to Swipe" with Thilo S. | Social Engineer Oct 08, 2017
    Show notes

Thilo is someone that I happened to meet on a social media app called Shapr, which is a version of Tinder that focuses on business connections and not hook-ups, although I think I’ve had more luck finding dates on Shapr. Thilo is a social coach that helps people get over anxieties by pushing their comfort to it’s furthest limits, like if you had a fear of approaching people, Thilo might have you go up to a table in a restaurant and ask for a bite of someone’s food. He also makes coffee in his Vitamix, which is really cool and delicious!

How do you like ads? Hate them? Me too. I would, however, be really interested in hearing from you! Here’s what I’m thinking: How do you feel about giving you the reigns to the podcast for 30 seconds? You could tell everyone a quick story, send out a message, create a personal ad, ask someone to marry you… just something unique right in this spot! There will be a “Buy Airtime” link on sketchcomedypodcastshow.com where you can see the rate card! Get your voice heard on Sketch Comedy Podcast Show!

Pavlov found that behavior can be triggered in animals and in humans. For instance, we hear a dinner bell ring and all of us looks around and wonders who the hell is ringing a bell and what does it mean? Or if someone says “hey, let’s make a run for the border” and we instantly all get a stomach ache and diarrhea for the next couple of hours. Or the fact that everyone within earshot just rolled their eyes at this entire introduction.

Each week I like to suggest a different podcast other than this one that I think would be a great idea to go check out. This week I am going to suggest a podcast called “Talking Dirty” starring Rebecca Love and Jocelyn Stone. It’s a podcast that talks about the sex industry, which we all are a little curious about, and it just so happens that Rebecca and Jocelyn are both just fun to listen to as well! Check out their podcast “Talking Dirty” https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/adult-film-star-network-podcast/id945146033] Links to the show on iTunes in the show notes.

Oh, and speaking of talking dirty, Rebecca Love of the aforementioned podcast as well as many adult films will be the guest next week! How about that for a segue?

"Custom Job" with Sean McCabe | Author and Inspirational Entrepreneur Oct 01, 2017
    Show notes

I first became exposed to this week’s guest, Sean McCabe, through his website [seanwes.com] one night while searching for something to keep me from just quitting this show. I needed a boost, and after searching around on the web, Sean’s website came up and I signed up immediately: it was encouraging and driving at the same time, and the guy on the camera, Sean, was so relaxed and personable I couldn’t help but be convinced that I could continue doing this show and maybe even be successful at it. And you know what, things are going really well! Sean is now an author, and after finishing his book, “Overlap”, I can highly recommend going and buying it IMMEDIATELY! I would especially suggest the audio book, because his relaxed demeanor and positive attitude is really brought to life. You know what, I’m not doing a good job selling him, he does a much better job and I suggest visiting his website [overlapbook.com] to read more about him, buy his excellent book, sign up for his amazing online classes, and generally become a huge fan of him and his philosophy as I have.

If you aren’t just a little inspired and excited after listening to Sean, I don’t know what it’s going to take. I would like to inspire you do do something though! I want to donate a bunch of money to the Hurricane Relief fund, but I need your help. I need you go to iTunes, Google Play, Stitcher, Overcast, Player FM…. Wherever you listen to podcasts and leave a review. A short one even. For every review I get I will be donating $1 to the Hurricane Relief fund, and I’m willing to donate a lot. So be generous with 5 minutes of your time to leave a review, and I will be generous out of my pocketbook!

Do you ever order something off of the menu at a restaurant? You know what I mean, it’s something that sounds good, but it has mushrooms, and you hate mushrooms so you order the meal without the mushrooms? You’ve totally customized your meal, made it more suitable for yourself! Did you know you can do that almost everywhere in life? Any time you order something, a lot of times you can get it perfectly fit just for your needs and for your desires… and hopefully there isn’t any phlegm in it!

Not sure if you know this or not, but Sketch Comedy Podcast Show wound up in the top 200 for Comedy Podcasts last week on iTunes! It was short-lived, but it was fun to see this show above Adam Corolla and Penn Jillette for a bit! I love to pay it forward and suggest podcasts from other people so that they can hopefully have the same thing happen. This week, I would like to suggest heading over to iTunes or your favorite podcatcher and downloading “The Dirty Bits” podcast. It’s a really fun show that explores all the dirty bits of history your teacher probably left out. The latest episode continues looking at the Tudors… there is a lot of dirty bits to explore here and the host, Tawny, does a great job doing so. Go check out the podcast AFTER you finish this one and hit the subscribe button, I think you will enjoy it!

Next week, I have Thilo Savage, an interesting guy I met on a professional connection site (that’s Tinder for business), who specializes in getting people to step out of their shells and do bizarre things in public. We got along really well!

    • Overlap – Start a Business While Working a Full-Time Job | seanwes — This is the book by this week's guest, Sean McCabe. No joke, this book easily could change your life and make your dreams come true. Overlap: Start a Business While Working a Full-Time Job | Go from overwhelmed and feeling stuck to getting clarity and creating financial freedom.
    • Apple Airpods Headset — Straight up, Sean suggested these were "an extension of myself" and I bit the bullet and bought some. He was not lying. These things are amazing and I absolutely suggest picking up a pair and listening to "Overlap" on Audible through them.
    • The Dirty Bits Podcast — History can be hilarious and is ever-changing. There are new discoveries all the time that continuously give fresh and interesting commentary. Learning the personal and intimate details about historical figures gives a deeper understanding of the motivation behind their actions that helped shape society for generations, and gives humanity what can sometimes seem like unrelatable historic figures. It’s also entertaining as hell to imagine people typically portrayed in a stately manner doing the equivalent of drunkenly calling out all their friends on twitter….I’m looking at you, John Wilmot. Learn how Warren G Harding nicknamed his genitals, or how Anthony Comstock had an enormous influence on the United States’ puritanical views on sex! Each week, join Tawny Platis for her casual re-tellings of the sexy, scandalous, and salacious stories your history teacher likely left out while her husband, George, takes care of all the tech stuff and occasionally weighs in with the proper use of a naughty word.

"Oh, I Get It… Because I’m Green" with Edward Noil | Cosplayer Extraordinaire and Podcaster Sep 24, 2017
    Show notes

Edward Noil is a fellow podcaster, independent wrestler and an amazing cosplayer. He never misses a con and never misses a chance to enthusiastically talk about his favorite things… which just so happen to be things that you would find at a conference focused on comic books or other things: anime, movies, Transformers… honestly, I loved talking to Ed because his enthusiasm for all things geeky is infectious. He speaks with the same fervor as my son, which in hind-sight would make a really great podcast on it’s own! Ed runs the “Points of Interest Podcast Network” [https://pointsofinterestpodcastnetwork.podbean.com] which focuses on all of the things that Ed loves and it’s a lot of things, there are 25 shows on the network!

Is your favorite part the sketches? Head to YouTube! You like seeing things while you are listening? Head to YouTube! Honestly, it’s pretty slick and there are no ads on there right now, so get on and you can listen to hours of comedy absolutely free. Head to [http://SCPSyoutube] to subscribe and start listening!

Mistaken identity… ever experienced that? It’s really strange when someone mistakes you for someone else, because what happens if you just go with it? What sort of adventures would ensue if you just took this other person’s life and started living it? I can just imagine what that person would say if they ever found you mimicing them… you know, “Leggo my Ego!”

I really like to promote other podcasts, and this is one that I really don’t need to promote because they already are doing incredible, but this week’s show to listen to after this show is “Jay and Miles X-plain the X-Men” [http://www.xplainthexmen.com]. I suggest starting all the way back to episode 1 and then getting a subscription to Marvel Unlimited so you can follow along with them. Not only are they really in-depth with their look at the most feared super-hero team, but they are also delightfully witty and are not afraid to tackle the topics that surround the mythos of the X-Men… racism, sexuality, robotic infections… all of it. Give them a listen and I am pretty sure you will thank me later.

Next week, I am excited to say that I have Sean McCabe, author of “Overlap” on to talk about finding one’s passion and turning it into a day job. Hopefully I can follow in his footsteps, and so can you!
