Bel-Air Season 3 Oct 02, 2024

Show notes

Now, this is a story all about how we reviewed The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air reboot! In this episode, Shelby and Laura, review Bel-Air Season 3. The very black and bougie Peacock Original show is back and we have a lot of thoughts. Spoiler alert -- we have differing opinions on whether or not this season is a watch.

We celebrate Morgan Cooper's success story of getting Bel-Air made, analyze how the OG show was Will Smith's claim to fame, explain why Aunt Viv and Uncle Phil are the best characters and that all of their kids, especially Will and Carlton are ungrateful, highlight our favorite moments, like whenever Lisa is onscreen and the Black Lotus vacation, discuss some problematic and colorist casting choices, dissect the crazy final few minutes of the finale and why Geoffrey needs to come back ASAP, predict what will happen with Hilary and Jazz now that LaMarcus has died, and debate whether or not getting back with an ex is a red flag.

Love Is Blind UK Season 1 Sep 17, 2024

Show notes

Is love blind in the UK? In this episode, Shelby and Laura review Netflix's Love Is Blind UK Season 1 hosted by Emma and Matt Willis. Spoiler alert -- this show exceeded expectations and may be the best Love Is Blind franchise. From the mature cast to the Greece vacations to the high production value to the gorgeous wedding venues, we were very impressed.

We analyze all of the final six couples and how the seemingly most solid one--Sabrina and Steven--fell apart outside of the pods, dissect Tom's judgmental behavior towards Maria, explain why we never trusted Ollie, celebrate our queen Demi choosing herself, gush over Bobby, Benaiah, and Freddie for being amazing men and treating their women well, highlight our favorite moments, like Benaiah proposing to Nicole, Freddie saying no at the altar to Cat, and Bobby's rap song closing out the show, and debate whether or not dating someone else from the pods after the experiment is a red flag.

Show notes

Bachelor Nation! Will you accept this rose 🌹? In this episode, Shelby and Laura review The Bachelorette Season 21 starring Jenn Tran--the show's first Asian-American lead. Spoiler alert -- this history-making season had way more low points than high ones, especially the dramatic finale where Jenn had to watch back her proposal while sitting next to Devin--the man that dumped and played her.

We explain why the producers set up Jenn to fail by not casting the right men for her, analyze all of the messy drama between Devin, Aaron, Sam M., and Thomas N., highlight our few favorite moments, like Jonathon and Jenn playing lacrosse and Jeremy's Stew Leonard's hometown date, spill the tea about Marcus's problematic dating history, dissect how the Bachelor franchise has a track record of doing diverse leads dirty, discuss why we aren't excited for Grant's season of The Bachelor, predict who will be cast on the next season of Bachelor in Paradise, and debate whether or not going on the show hoping for a certain lead is a red flag.
