Jared Carrabis Podcast Episode 73: Tyler Milliken Masterclass Mar 03, 2023
    Show notes

Tyler has a show for the ages as he puts on an inspiring performance in audio/video production excellence. Any aspiring producer should listen to this episode to take your production skills to the next level. Red Sox spring training is here! Today we're getting a vibe check from Jared who's been down in Fort Myers for the last week watching the Red Sox kick off spring training games. We're talking pitch clock, wine and paint night with Kiké, young guys impressing early, and breaking down what we've seen so far in the first week of exhibition games. Jared had a run in with his old buddy Pete Abe at JetBlue park and you'll never believe where it happened. We're also interpreting quotes from Cora talking about Paxton catching his attention, and Yoshida being a cleanup hitter instead of leading off. We've had positive vibes from the jump, but we're starting to notice other members of Boston sports media beginning to come around on this team and not counting them out. We love to see it.

Jared Carrabis Podcast Episode 72: Hard & Juicy Feb 24, 2023
    Show notes

You won't find a harder, juicer episode than this one. This week John Henry responded via email to a couple Boston media outlets. We're taking a deeper look at his responses and trying to decipher how he actually feels. Chris Cotillo joins the pod (and narrowly avoids a season-long suspension) to talk spring training, his report on veteran players having issues with Triston Casas' routines, and the vibes in Fort Meyers. Jared and Tyler talk about the generational gap between baseball players and baseball fans and how it causes issues in the clubhouse and online. Jared is considering painting his nails in support of Triston Casas and is trying to figure out how Casas might react. Noah Song was also in the news this week as he'll be joining Phillies camp. We talk about the scenarios in which the Red Sox can get him back and how we aren't necessarily losing sleep over the situation. Pete Abe had a couple tough tweets so we take a quick laugh at those. We end the pod with the positivity horn and you finally realize why the episode was titled "Hard & Juicy." Enjoy!

Jared Carrabis Podcast Episode 67: RIP "Baseball" Pat Jan 20, 2023
    Show notes

Today we’re saying goodbye to Pat Light. Pat has informed us that he will be taking a lesser role in the podcast and will only join us “from time to time” when it fits his schedule. So he will basically be playing the exact same role as last year and nothing is changing. Other topics include the signing of Adam Duvall, Winter Weekend activities, projecting the 2023 Red Sox lineup, and Yoshi’s celebration when he gets a hit. Tyler also doesn’t know what the Titanic is so we do a quick 30 on that. Enjoy!

Jared Carrabis Podcast Episode 66: Story Gets Surgery Jan 13, 2023
    Show notes

Trevor Story got surgery on his elbow earlier this week and will miss a significant chunk of the 2023 season if not all of it. We're talking about the Red Sox options at SS until he gets back and who they might target to fill in the gaps. The Red Sox called to check in on Carlos Correa which Jared hinted at on Twitter, which naturally led to people thinking it was a done deal that he was coming to Boston. We talk about why Red Sox fans are so divided amongst themselves which is not something that usually happens with this fanbase, and how the Mookie trade was the beginning of "The Fog." Jared poses a hypothetical about if you'd rather have sustained success with less championships, or major up and down years with more championships. Despite everything that has happened this offseason, the dark cloud that was hanging over the 2022 Red Sox season is gone, and we look at ways to be optimistic about 2023. Jared played guitar with Bronson Arroyo this week and tells a story of meeting Julián Tavárez at his concert. We also break down the news of Youk returning to the NESN booth and discuss other names we'd like to see featured on the broadcast throughout the year. Enjoy!

Jared Carrabis Podcast Episode 64: Kluber In, Eovaldi Out Dec 30, 2022
    Show notes

Another integral member of the 18' Championship team is no longer with the Red Sox. Nate Eovaldi signed with the Rangers this week and we're saying our goodbyes. The Red Sox signed Corey Kluber in response and we're comparing what kind of production he can bring to this rotation vs Eovaldi. With JD and Eovaldi no longer on the team, we're looking back at the 2022 trade deadline and wondering why the Red Sox didn't offload them midseason if they weren't going to keep them. Jared tries to pump optimism into the podcast early on before Tyler brings him down. The new phrase we're going with is "What If?" What If the Red Sox are good? What If they're great? There's a good chance they're not, but they might be! Tyler also commits to wearing a naughty maid outfit and cleaning Jared's house if Garrett Whitlock gets demoted to the bullpen during the season. Thanks for sticking with us in 2022, see you next year!
