Solving and Serving with Stefan Kunz

Today's guest, Stefan Kunz, has built a creative empire with lettering and digital products. At such a young age, you’d think his amassing of an Instagram audience of over 300K+ loyal followers happened overnight, but I can assure you it didn’t.

On today’s episode, Stefan and I pull back the curtain on:

    • Growing an audience by listening and serving
    • Solving problems creatively for yourself and others
    • Pushing your limitations and aiming at big targets
    • Building a passive income with digital products
    • And most importantly, his favorite pizza…

I have no doubt this one is going give you the spark you need to elevate your work and to close out 2018 with a bang.

Owning Your Story & Style with Kyle Letendre of @HeyKyle Oct 24, 2018
    Show notes

Working Through Your Path and Passions

Sometimes, it takes a few attempts to figure out which passion path you should be following in life. You may have multiple interests, but not all of them point toward a fruitful future.

Queue today’s guest, Kyle Letendre aka @HeyKyle, a groovy magician who casts spellbinding expressive lettering and illustrations for some of the biggest kids on the block like Instagram, Jack White, and McDonald's.

In addition, he gives talks, teaches workshops, and slangs some pretty beautiful merch...basically, I’m saying he does it all and does it extremely well.

Today, Kyle and chop it up over tantalizing topics such as:

    • The weird and winding road to lettering and illustration
    • The risky leap to full-time freelance
    • Owning your story and what makes you you
    • How his name doesn’t sound like it's spelled and obviously his favorite pizza

Finding Your Style & Building an Audience with Michael Fugoso of Fugstrator Oct 17, 2018
    Show notes

Today we chop it up with Michael Fugoso aka FUGS aka @Fugstrator on the Grams.

This guy has an incredible story of finding his path of art and design later in the game than most. However, once he found that thing that made him feel alive, he went all out and took the illustration world by storm with a unique, skeuomorphic style I can pick out from a sea of noise.

In this episode, Fugs and I inject copious amounts of energy into topics such as:

    • Finding your groove and owning your style
    • Sharing the process and building an audience
    • Skipping the shortcuts and mastering the fundamentals
    • Being a student of life and always experimenting

A 4 Step Blueprint for Kicking Major Ass in Life & Your Creative Grind Oct 10, 2018
    Show notes

Recently, I listened to a Lewis Howes' School of Greatness episode (695) called Your Thoughts Will Heal or Kill You with Marissa Peer. A few main themes of the show triggered some areas of conflict I had been wrestling with personally in my life.

I loved it so much I had to listen a second time, so I could take notes and channel my thoughts into an episode. I know these are things you deal with as a creative human, too.

So today, I distilled my top takeaways from that episode and injected my own flavor geared toward creatives. The following is a 4 Step Blueprint for Kicking Major Ass in Life & Your Creative Pursuits:

    1. Know You’re Enough
    2. Choose Your Beliefs Wisely
    3. Use Words as a Weapon for Good
    4. Build a Fortress Against Critics

Overall, I want to give you the firepower for transforming your words, thoughts, and beliefs to create the world you want for yourself and others.

Rolling With Life's Punches as a Creative & Punching Back Oct 03, 2018
    Show notes

It’s good to have a plan in life, especially with your creative pursuits...yet things don't always go according to plan.

You've learned by now that life isn't always sunshine and rainbows. You have to deal with the darkness and tornados that will throw you off course.

For my wife and me, 2018's motto has been strictly about "Rolling With Life's Punches." Throughout her pregnancy and our now-parenthood, we've had our fair share of bumps in the road. Each time we remind ourselves of this motto.

I've also tattooed this motto on my mind as I juggle my daily grind between the day job and the Perspective-Collective.

Today's episode is about responding to the punches life throws at you. Whatever happens, happens.

    I talk about:

    • The whirlwind of 2018
    • Focusing on what you can and can't control
    • Flexing your ability to embrace the blows
    • Responding to life's punches

Lace up your boxing gloves and get ready to step into the ring. You're in for a fight worth fighting, and it's time to punch back.

Love the Crust (3 Life Lessons Learned From Loving Pizza Pt 3) Sep 26, 2018
    Show notes

Today we dive into Part 3 of the 3 Life Lessons Learned From Pizza Series.

Life Lesson #3 is all about Learning to Love the Crust.

To know the crust is to love the crust. It's those rough patches in your life when you feel lost, depressed, and insignificant—like you have nothing to offer this world.

You want to ignore these moments in life and sweep the crumbs under the rug, but it's important to embrace them. These moments and experiences define and shape whom you'll become.

Today I talk about 3 ways to get through those crusty times and see the silver lining.

    1. Shit & Sunshine - Can't appreciate the highs without the lows

    2. Find Your Suffering - What are you willing to experience worthwhile suffering for?

    3. Hoard Your Victories - Celebrating and acknowledging wins is important

    Life Lesson #1 - You're Not Pizza

Today we embark on a 3 part episodic adventure of 3 Life Lessons Learned from Loving Pizza.

Starting off with Life Lesson #1 (Part 1) - Understanding You're Not Pizza.

First, we dive deep into the makings of a people pleaser and how this mentality crippled my creativity and quality of living.

Next, I give you 3 ways to overcome this mindset to help you get comfortable in finding your voice and style on your own path.

    1. Don't Create for the Masses - Creating for everyone makes it hard to attract the right people
