Well, it is a holiday week and I hope you are geared up for...not a whole lot of work. My personal goal is to take 2 weeks off from work, and I give you permission to take off as much as you want as well. The clients will still be there, the work can wait, but this is a great time to get some order back in your life. Focus on your family and your faith so that when it is time, you can focus on your business, but have the right perspective. Let's take our foot off the gas for the holidays! Merry Christmas!!!

Monday Fire 29 | Closing Loops Dec 16, 2019

I don't know about you, but when I have too many things going on in my head I feel very unsettled. This is especially true when there are lots of open, undecided issues. Sometimes, I just have to sit down with Jason and close some loops! It feels so good just to get things decided and settled. And, of course, it doesn't mean things can't change. It just means that decisions have been made so progress can occur! I want to give you some tips on how to close some loops in your life and explain why it is so important!

Is Black Friday becoming a non-event? What do the major retailers and analysts say? Well, malls were dead and foot traffic was down, but overall sales were up! Shopping habits are changing and we as small business owners have to respond. We need to give consumers lots of options and really be intentional in what we offer and how we market. Listen in as I share lots of stats and some keys things you need to do before the next Black Friday/Cyber Monday season! There were some really big winners this season, what can we learn from them so we can win big too!

Things To Do ASAP

Get a website.
Make sure your website is optimized for an influx of traffic and performs very nicely on mobile.
The online space is still the Wild, Wild West. It is a wide-open blue ocean and there is still lots of room for you to be successful. If you are not totally rocking it online, I want to help! $4.2B was spent Thursday and sales were up 20% on Black Friday so people were definitely shopping.
Several major retailers sites went down or had issues because of traffic.
Wal-Mart, Target, and Best Buy all did okay because they offer an omni-channel - order online, pick up in-store, ship to home, ship to store, etc.
Influencers were pushing pretty hard and did a great job!
Wal-Mart has been upping their game, more sponsored content, new product lines, working with influencers, and so one leading up the Black Friday.
Big box stores can offer deals, but small businesses can offer an experience.
65% of all sales were done on a phone so make sure your website is great on mobile!
Store pick-up was up 43% (order online and pick up at a location). What does this mean for you as a small-business owner?
Costco has a genius idea that involved a chicken! What can you do like Costco's chicken strategy?
The retailers are making offers earlier and earlier, but consumers are waiting longer and longer to purchase making sure it is the best deal.
Only 60% of people know what Small Business Saturday is. What can you do to help educate people next year?

I have women message on the regular looking for permission. It may be a new business idea or a change to what they are currently doing or just an idea they want to investigate, but they feel like they need to be told it is okay. While I am happy to grant them the permission they feel they need, I really want them to find it for themselves. If the Lord has given you an idea to implement or a message to share or a plan to pursue, you don't need anyone's permission. He already gave it to you!

Whatever big, hard, and scary thing you want to do, start by doing one thing today. What is one bite you can take? What is one step you can accomplish to move you in the direction you want to go? You don't have to see the whole picture or know all the things. Instead, just do the next right thing and keep repeating that!
