112: Cold Case Mystery: Seminole County Jane Doe Dec 02, 2025
    Show notes

In 1974, a teenager riding his bike stumbled upon a body behind the newly built mall in Altamonte Springs, Florida. The woman—later known as Seminole County Jane Doe—was stabbed, possibly sexually assaulted, and left unidentified for decades.

In 1982, Gerald Stano, a man who would confess to dozens of murders, claimed responsibility for her death. But even his confession did little to answer the most important question: who was she?

Today, forensic experts and investigative genetic genealogists at Ramapo College are working to uncover her identity, tracing her ancestry and building family trees in the hope of giving her a name and closure to her family.

This episode examines the crime scene, the details that reveal her life, the complicated legacy of serial confessions, and the tireless work of modern investigators. Seminole County Jane Doe’s story is a reminder that every victim deserves to be remembered as a person—not a statistic.

If you have information, please contact Seminole County law enforcement. Every share helps in the search for her identity.

    And aboard that same ship?

A young art student named Bessie Hyde, the “river bride” whose disappearance in the Grand Canyon remains one of America’s most haunting mysteries. Their lives briefly crossed in a moment neither could have imagined—one destined for stardom, the other for legend.

On June 15, 1988, 12-year-old Doreen Vincent disappeared from her father’s home on Whirlwind Hill Road in Wallingford, Connecticut.

106: Oak Grove Jane Doe: Oregon’s Oldest Unidentified Victim Oct 21, 2025
    Show notes

In April 1946, a burlap sack pulled from the Willamette River south of Portland revealed something horrifying: the torso of a woman, carefully dismembered and discarded. Over the next several months, more body parts surfaced, and newspapers across the country covered what became known as the Wisdom Light Murder. Nearly eighty years later, this victim is remembered only as Oak Grove Jane Doe — Oregon’s oldest unidentified person case.

In this episode, we explore the chilling discovery, the flawed investigation, and how her remains went missing for decades. We’ll also look at the women she was once suspected to be — Seattle’s missing Marie Nastos and Portland’s vanished Anna Schrader — and why new forensic science may finally give her a name.

105: Mother and Daughter Gone: The Disappearance of Liliana & Daniela Moreno Oct 14, 2025
    Show notes

On May 30, 2016, 41-year-old Liliana Moreno and her 9-year-old daughter Daniela vanished from Hialeah Gardens, Florida.

Their apartment door was locked. Her car was parked outside. Liliana’s purse, wallet, and passport were left behind — and food was still sitting out on the stove.

The last person to see them alive was Daniela’s biological father. He claimed he dropped them off on the side of the road after an argument. But within hours, strange events began to unfold: a burglary targeting security footage, Liliana’s documents found in a dumpster, and a van rental that ended with a violent confrontation with police.

For eight years, their loved ones have lived with unanswered questions. Then, in October 2024, Daniela’s father was charged with two counts of kidnapping resulting in death in their case.
