Seven Deadly Sinners — True Crime
Seven Deadly Sinners

Sinners are often people who believe they deserve every little thing they desire, and hurting others along the way…well that’s just road kill. On a small scale it’s scary, but on the scale these people have done it it’s down right evil.

Preachers, church, your faith are your most trusted source of comfort…but what happens when that world is shattered…

Season 1 of Seven Deadly Sinners took on the world of Televangelists and cultish child sexual predator, Warren Jeffs.

Seasons 2 and 3 of Seven Deadly Sinners, we’re traveling to the depths of hell, expanding our realm and covering Preachers, Cult Leaders and Religious Organizations linked to horrific crimes…and some of these cases involve leaders who kidnap, rape and murder the ones who trust them the most.

What if, after leading you in prayer, he lures to the bedroom.

What it the same preacher who captures your heart, kidnaps your child.

What if, the priest serving you communion used those same hands to dispose of a corpse.

These Preachers committed heinous crimes – right under …your…. nose.. – with a bible next to their bed – and a cross around their neck.

Rachael O’Brien is the host of Seven Deadly Sinners, and she guides you on this hellish journey of deception all under the guise of Faith. Subscribe and listen on @applepodcasts Now Let’s close our eyes, bow our heads and buckle up.

114: Greed - The Cripple Creek Gold Rush Oct 09, 2022

Show notes

In the valley below Mount Pisgah, there is a meandering creek that for the last 30 million years has crept through a desolate prairie, carving into the core of an ancient volcano revealing nuggets of native gold that remained undisturbed on the surface until Bob Womack found a chunk in a cattle pasture in Poverty Gulch and staked the El Paso claim in 1890 - igniting the last Colorado Gold Rush and fostering:

“The Greatest Gold Camp On Earth.”

It’s true. More gold was pulled out of Cripple Creek than all of Alaska and California’s gold rushes combined. 28 Millionaires were made and the little mining enclave became the financial capital of the country in just a few years. Word of the Gold boom triggered a mass migration of gold thirsty men, with little to no experience mining, to a town that was primed to take their fortune faster than the Gold Fever packed their bags to get there.

They say “Money doesn’t grow on trees” - yet it is the root of all evil - so what happens when men start pulling precious metals deeply rooted in the Earth out of the ground faster than Farmers can harvest crops?

Greed.

A gluttonous hunger for GOLD that erodes the morals of men and women; infecting their souls like a fever - and the contagious excitement of a gold rush spares no one.

111: Wrath - Eastern Lightening Sep 18, 2022

Show notes

‘Eastern Lightning’ almost sounds to me like a 1980’s metal band…but that’s far from the reality of the organization also known as Church of the Almighty God (among numerous other alias’s). We’re not talking big hair, power ballads and heavy guitar rifts … we’re talking accusations of kidnappings; coercion; alleged assaults; murder; brainwashing and targeting women. All under the nose of China’s Communist Party begging the question as to whether the crazy allegations surrounding the organization are, in fact, true or whether they’re completely fabricated by the CCP.
