    Air Force Special Warfare has implemented vast changes in their recruiting, development, and selection processes. With the new AFSC 9T500, candidates desiring the career-fields: Pararescue (PJ), Combat Control (CCT), Special Reconnaissance (SR), and TACP will forego a human-performance-based program converging all candidates under the 9T500 Air Force Specialty Code with the purpose of selecting & assigning the most appropriate Special Warfare career-field to candidates. Selection criteria is based on:
    1. Candidate Preference
    2. Physical, Academic, & Mental Performance
    3. Character & Personality
    4. Air Force’s manning needs.
    The Air Force intends to increase the quantity & quality of candidates while eliminating uncertainty/confusion on which career-field is most-appropriate, assigning a specialty (PJ, CCT, SR, or TACP) to candidates after the vectoring program is complete. “The airmen's scores are assessed throughout BMT, SWOE-V and the prep course and are "heavily based on a candidate's performance," -Colonel Lopez, 330 Special Warfare Training Wing

    Host Jason Sweet interviews his former student Matt after attending his RASP graduation, Class 3-20 in Fort Benning, Georgia. Jason tells of his experience attending the graduation & briefly discusses the path from a recruiting and fitness standpoint to attend RASP, and steps to prepare for success. Army Rangers are the United States’ premier light infantry fighting force, specializing in raids & assault missions deep inside enemy territory. There are three pillars that make up the Ranger mission. 1: Special Operations Raids 2: Forcible Entry Operations 3: Special Reconnaissance. There are nearly 3,500 US Army Rangers spread across 3 Ranger Battalions. Matt has now officially joined those ranks. Congratulations to you and your teammates, you are now "The Tip of the Spear!"

As a USAF Combat Controller (CCT) Graduate & Former SOCOM Athlete Student, John discusses his path from Navy ROTC & a member of the SOCOM Athlete Arizona Training Group to his journey in becoming an elite USAF Combat Controller. "First There!" John has a great story to tell, giving stories, tips, and wisdom that will empower listeners. A soft-spoken, humble person, John speaks with confidence on the microphone as he's been taught to do as a Special Warfare Operator CCT. Combat Controllers are among the United States' most Elite Special Operation forces who specialize in all aspects of air-ground communication, including air traffic control, fire support, and command, control, and communications in covert, forward, or austere environments.
