Live & UnCatfished: Seahawks vs Cowboys Postgame Reaction Aug 27, 2022

Show notes

Geno Smith has been named the starter after a multiple turnover performance by Drew Lock against the Cowboys. What is the soonest we could see Lock now that Smith has won the job? Or was that the kind of performance that limits Drew to the backup spot until there is an injury? We get into some of the positive aspects of what we saw from the game against the Cowboys and some of the positive aspects of having Geno as QB1. However, that means Seattle will be limited in the number of mistakes it can make if they're going to be expected to be competitive and win games this season.

PNW Prop Stars: Seahawks are betting favorites vs the Cowboys Aug 25, 2022

Show notes

Drew Lock is expected to play a majority of the game against the Cowboys as Dallas is expected to sit most of their starters. Does that mean the Seahawks should be easy favorites to beat the money line? Geno Smith is now the favorite to win the job after Lock sat out the second week of preseason. Is the underdog position Drew finds himself in enough to take action on a potential surprise ahead of his preseason performance?

381: Drew Lock is set to start for the Seahawks final preseason game Aug 23, 2022

Show notes

There are some positive takeaways coming out of the second preseason game against the Chicago Bears - as long as you really stretch what you consider as positives. The Seahawks first round pick Charles Cross had a chance to match up with one of the top pass rushers in the NFL and showed out well despite not knowing who Robert Quinn is. Geno Smith, if he gets the start, will have to starting receivers to throw to rather than they guys who aren't standing out as a clear third or fourth option.

Seahawks fans will get to see Drew Lock coming up in this week's game against the Dallas Cowboys. Will he be able to do enough to earn a start against the Broncos or has Pete Carroll already made that decision? Based on what we've seen (or haven't) from players like Marquise Blair, Dwayne Eskridge, Marquise Goodwin, L.J. Collier or Ryan Neal - we see some cuts of some high draft picks or free agent acquisitions.

In the second half of the show, there's one quarterback the Seahawks could consider if he's cut by his current team. There's another guy who won the starting job that Seattle should have tried harder to get. Then there's another quarterback who can just decide when he wants to be at practice and when he doesn't. People who put they're Venmo name out in public for random celebrations and an event charging way too much for an essential item both need to do better. Better at life honors go out to firefighters again along with a pair of little league baseball players.

Live and UnCatfished: Seahawks vs Bears Postgame Reaction Aug 19, 2022

Show notes

With dropped passes and penalties being an issue throughout the team, the Seahawks got out to a slow start and didn't recover until the final minutes of the game. Special teams was a liability at multiple points in the game. In the second half, Jacob Eason led the team to one touchdown and had the second one called back, but at least it led to some entertainment that we hadn't gotten for the first 55 minutes of the game.

380: Seahawks trenches look good vs Steelers, Lock forced to sit out vs Bears Aug 18, 2022

Show notes

After losing to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Saturday, the Seahawks were left with a short week to prepare for the Chicago Bears. Thursday's matchup was supposed to feature Drew Lock with the first-team offense, but shortly following that announcement was another announcement that the former Broncos QB would have to sit out. Will this change how the Seahawks approach who ultimately starts for the team in Week 1?

We look back to the Steelers game at some of the positive and negative takeaways from the first outing of the season. The rookie cornerbacks could not stop a Steelers rookie receiver and one of the two found himself on his back on one play in the first quarter. Seattle's offensive and defensive lines showed promise throughout the game. Unfortunately, the defense was difficult to evaluate as a whole because of all the missed tackles. We discuss why that's the least concerning of the issues we saw on defense.

With Thursday's matchup against the Chicago Bears, what are some of the key things to watch? Geno Smith will now get the start and we'll likely get to see Jacob Eason get some extended time on the field. Can the corners bounce back after that rough outing? There's one player in particular we hope to see with snaps against the Bears first-team offense after a nice debut.

In the second half of the show, we discuss our anniversary of the show. We also talk about which NFC West team seems to be the most excited after the first week of preseason action. We call on the NFL Network and a local police department to do better. Better at life nods go out to Montana fire fighters and to a group of people who picked up some slack in recent days.
