Seahawks Take Big Swings on Day 2 of the 2025 NFL Draft Apr 29, 2025

Show notes

From Day 2 of the NFL Draft, we provide full coverage of the day's selections by the Seahawks. John Schneider and Mike Macdonald made a move up early in the draft to take safety Nick Emmanwori. The South Carolina standout was a player many had linked to the Seahawks with the 18th overall pick and there were rumblings about Seattle trying to trade back into the first round to get him. Instead they were able to move up and still get him early in round 2.

With their other second rounder, they selected tight end Elijah Arroyo, a player that Clinton had been critical of leading up to the draft. Phil Lydick joins the show to provide his thought and analysis of the picks. Max Toscano of Remember the Tight Ends comes in to talk about the Seahawks selection of Elijah Arroyo and Adam celebrates the selection of Jalen Milroe and what it could mean for the future of the quarterback room in Seattle.

464: Seahawks Crowd the QB Room Ahead of the Draft Apr 22, 2025

Show notes

The Seattle Seahawks have brought back Drew Lock ahead of the 2025 NFL Draft. It raises questions about the future of Sam Howell, and if there is any potential for trade compensation with a crowded quarterback room. General Manager John Schneider and Coach Mike Macdonald spoke at the pre-draft press conference on Monday and confirmed trade talks surrounding Howell. We talk about some of the parallels with the 2012 offseason and how Seattle could still consider a QB in the draft based on that history. Plus, is it a "lazy narrative" that the Seahawks need to address the offensive line?

We have two final interviews to share from the 2025 Shrine Bowl. Kyonte Hamilton of Rutgers was a late invite to the game and is being touted as a late-round value pick. The big man on the interior sounds like he'd be a locker room fit for any team. He talks about how his wrestling experience plays into his game on the defensive line. Marcus Wehr of Montana State held his own against the top talent the Shrine Bowl had to offer. He talks about how he once got annoyed by the Idaho football team's inability to shower.

We close the show with a discussion about our biggest draft day fear and whether or not we think John Schneider is more likely to trade up or to trade down. The availability of lumber and the hype around the Minecraft movie leading to the downfall of society are targeted in the Do Better Segment. Better at Life honors go to John Cena and WrestleMania for this past weekend and to Aaron Rodgers for toying with the Pittsburgh Steelers franchise these last couple months.
