"I pestered my mother into talking about what she remembers from that night. She was reluctant, but she did tell me something that I haven’t been able to shake: That night, the whispers were talking to her specifically. They were telling her to harm her children..."
SCARED TO DEATH IS EXPLICIT IN EVERY WAY. TAKE CARE WHILE LISTENING.
Dan has two traditional-type stories for this week! The first one takes us to South Carolina. A modern encounter with the occult, it seems, in the old haunted Newry Mill. An abandoned old textile mill long used as a teen hangout and drinking spot. Then, we head to the little town of Mitchell, Indiana, to check out a haunted house known as Whispers Estate. We dig into its history to find out how it got this name. Lynze knocks it out of the park this week and really creeps Dan out with a tale about a haunted dresser with evil intentions. Wrapping up the episode is strange encounter with a woman? A spirit? Listen to find out!
New Merch: New merch in the Bad Magic store again this week! A fun cartoon style creature/demon looking thing available in both a tee and sweater, head on over to badmagicmerch.com and check it out!
Standup: Also - if you want to see a very different side of Dan than you see here, his Symphony of Insanity standup tour is back and running. Go to dancummins.tv for ticket links to shows in Missoula, Tempe, Raleigh, Chicago, Salt Lake City, and Davenport this spring.
Bad Magic Productions Monthly Patreon Donation: This month our donation will be going to Lifting Hands International whose mission statement is “We provide aid to refugees both at home and abroad. No politics. Simply humanitarian.” They have been boots on the ground in a variety of places for refugees and currently are stationed in Moldova and Romania, aiding in evacuating Ukrainians, providing meals and so much more. If you are looking for a way to help those in crisis in Ukraine, please visit liftinghandsinternational.org and look for the Urgent Ukraine Banner at the top. There are so many ways that you can help, including sending care packages to those in Ukraine. We continue to be amazed by the resilience of the Ukrainian people and carry them in our thoughts and hearts everyday. Our donation amount is TBD as we record in advance. We will keep you posted as soon as we can make that donation!

Opening Sumerian protection spell (adapted):
"Whether thou art a ghost that hath come from the earth, or a phantom of night that hath no home… or one that lieth dead in the desert… or a ghost unburied… or a demon or a ghoul… Whatever thou be until thou art removed… thou shalt find here no water to drink… Thou shalt not stretch forth thy hand to our own… Into our house enter thou not. Through our fence, breakthrough thou not… we are protected though we may be frightened. Our life you may not steal, though we may feel SCARED TO DEATH."
