    Today's episode covers an underrated lab marker that I wanted to cover in depth and that is homocysteine. Homocysteine is an amino acid. Vitamins B12, B6 and folate break down homocysteine to create other chemicals your body needs. High homocysteine levels may indicate a vitamin deficiency. Without treatment, elevated homocysteine can potentially increases risk for dementia, heart disease and stroke. We'll discuss homocysteine from a variety of aspects along with client considerations.
