On The Shoulders Of Giants 15: Do They Have A Treasure Department? May 23, 2018

Show notes

Belvedere University stands as a testament to the academic pedigree of Galyria's best and brightest. Many of the most influential people in the Archipelago have passed through it's halls, not least of all the current members of the Admiralty Council and their families.

However, regardless of the intellectual bounty that Belvedere University may provide, it is not our heroes' aim. Somewhere in the hilly countryside of Toulaine rests an even more tantalizing prospect, and it is up to Zara Fontaine and Tiuku Bell to track it down and utilize it properly.

While the name “Tiuku” might elicit little more than a shrug and an upturned nose from most of The Archipelago’s elite, they’ve certainly come to know and fear her alter ego: the famous Bell Thief. Tiuku has been responsible for countless high-profile burglaries from Gourzon to South Pillars, and now she has her eye set on the magnificent splendor of Gregarious Pirrenoue, Culture Admiral of the Prosperous Nation of Galyria. But while she may be used to armed guards, moonlit vistas and clandestine infiltration, in Azure Bay she faces a never-before-seen threat to her stellar criminal record: the earnest attempted aid of the clumsy and brilliant inventor Zara Fontaine.

Once, there was a vast and intricate network of communication nodes that stretched across the islands of the endless sea, pinprick stars in a constellation that allowed face to face communication across hundreds of leagues instantaneously. Now, that great lattice has fallen into disrepair, with only a handful of nodes left standing, inactive and silent. Zara Fontaine and Tiuku Bell have been dispatched to the university town of Toulaine, hoping to find and reactivate one such node. Before they get there, however, they must make it through the trade hub of Azure Bay, the jewel of the Galyrian coastline. Such a bustling city provides ample opportunity for our heroes to engage in commerce, make new friends, and even cause a little mischief!
