Guy shares his story of his working-class routes, falling in love with a broad range of music thanks to his sisters all having such eclectic tastes. He also shares how Elbow started with modest success in Bury before a slow build to the multi-Ivor Novello award winning success of ‘The Seldom Seen Kid’ in 2008.     John, with his former co-writer Daryl Hall produced some of the greatest songs of the 70s and 80s making them the most successful musical duo of all time selling over 80 million albums. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2014.

    This brilliant Brian Auger joins Gary and Guy this week for another must listen episode of Rockonteurs.

    Brian is a total gent and was there from the earliest days of Rock and Roll as the go to organ and piano guy.

    He formed The Steampacket with Long John Baldry, Julie Driscoll, and Rod Stewart in 1965. His influence is felt far and wide in the business and artists like Elton John and Jools Holland cite Brian as a massive influence.

    He’s funny, charming, and hugely entertaining and his music is well worth a listen.

Jimmy has written for Glen Campbell, Linda Ronstadt, the Supremes, Art Garfunkel and even Richard Harris!

    From a childhood raised on church music to writing some of the all-time greats, this is a fascinating conversation.
