    Show notes

Welcome to Roadcase, a podcast exploring the live music experience!! Join us for this intriguing conversation with the spectacular Holly Bowling! Holly is a classically trained pianist whose improvisational work is legendary and well known in the jam band community, due to her painstakingly accurate transcription of Phish jams as well as her gorgeous piano renditions of Grateful Dead's music. During the Covid lockdown and subsequent show-hiatus, Holly created the "Wilderness Sessions," a collection of powerful and compelling live piano improvisations which took place across the country in a variety of amazing natural settings. Her most recent project, Lacuna, with Tom Hamilton, of JRAD and her bandmate in Ghost Light, is a unique instrumental and improvisational project where she and Tom simply played in a studio and recorded the results, which were extraordinary! Holly also sat in with Greensky Bluegrass at Red Rocks recently and that collaboration resulted in Holly joining Greensky on piano for their current Fall tour. She is also getting back on the road with Ghost Light in January. Holly has tons of thoughts on her playing style and why she does what she does; it's an intriguing look into the improvisational mind. Welcome to Roadcase, a podcast exploring the live music experience!! Join us for this informative conversation with Tara Perkins of Hard Line Management. Tara got her start in the DIY world of the Pacific Northwest by managing live festivals in the early 2000's then began managing her first tour with the band Gossip when she took them around as support on Cyndi Lauper's True Colors Tour in 2007. Andrew Marlin (Watchhouse, formerly Mandolin Orange) Oct 15, 2021
    Show notes

Welcome to Roadcase, a podcast exploring the live music experience!! Join us for this fascinating conversation with Andrew Marlin of Watchhouse, formerly known as Mandolin Orange, whose latest album entitled "Watchhouse" was released earlier this year. Andrew is a super chill human and this conversation ran really deep as we talked about his profoundly personal songwriting and the cathartic effect it has had on Andrew both in writing his songs but also in putting them out there for fans to hear and experience. His deep and gorgeous voice propels his songs to a seemingly other dimension but that emotional ride has not been easy for Andrew, forcing him to open up while also helping him come to terms with many challenges he has faced in his own life. Andrew and his wife, Emily Frantz, have been on the road for over a decade now and began with open mics and a decidedly DIY operation -- now that hard work on the road has paid off recently with their headlining show at Red Rocks in October of this year. So hop on the Roadcase bus for this illuminating interview with a stellar human, Andrew Marlin of Watchhouse. It's a great ride!!
