The Truth From A Fatherless Recovering Womanizer with Ismael Brown - Part 2 Jun 12, 2018
    Show notes

And God said, "Love your enemy" and I obeyed him and loved myself.

Part 2, is all about self-love as we close on the rest of Ismael Browns amazing book, "My Own Worst Enemy: A Black Mans American Story."

We discuss my two FAVORITE parts of his book. A long letter addressed to his father where he apologizes for not asking for love and an entire chapter on his role as a womanizer.

Not pointing the finger outward and instead pointing it inward is where Ismael decided to make his biggest changes, even with the ones who hurt him the most. Ismael even explains how finding happiness sometimes is just shifting the pain.

For my ladies, this womanizer chapter is telling on all men. Ismael and I discuss culture and how it has damaged relationships but what women can do while right now when faced with these situations.

Ismael embraces all his insecurities in this final episode and we both ask if your listening that you do the same, we need to all own that having insecurities are NORMAL and it doesn't mean you cant love yourself.

If you've dealt with a womanizer and are wondering why or searching for your happiness, Ismael gives you the blueprint in this episode.

**If you know anyone dealing with or contemplating suicide please refer them to this episode as we both make a plea that you talk to someone because being stuck in a toxic frame of mind was real for Ismael as he attempted suicide once before.**

15 MIN FRIDAY- Improving Self Confidence Jun 08, 2018
    Show notes

I Used this 15 min Friday to talk about something I've struggled with and by changing it this year my life has dramatically improved.....and that is self-confidence.

Not to be confused with self-esteem or self-approval, but the way we carry ourselves and believe in our ability to pursue anything without living in fear or doubt. I discuss how I worked to courageously deal with fear head on this year and the compromise that comes with building a better version of you. I mention how letting go of doubtful friends and comparison is a nice place to start.

    Happy Friday!

Chasing Away The Love We Crave With Ismael Brown - Part 1 Jun 06, 2018
    Show notes

Todays episode with Ismael Brown is all about his recent book, "My Own Worst Enemy: A Black Mans American Story." In just a short hour we discuss how this book dismantles everything men are taught to believe about manhood in America and regardless of his circumstances, Ismael believes he is still to blame for his shortcomings.

His failed relationships, friendships, and the unbearable weight he uncovers of fearing the people who profess their love for him the most. The honesty about his trauma and vulnerability about chasing away love even when its the deepest thing we crave is a problem so many of us struggle with.

This riveting conversation is something regardless of race WE ALL NEED TO HEAR. Ismael discusses suicide attempts, how the bootstrap theory alone didn't work for him, and how forgiveness is one of the keys to a happy life.

You do not want to miss this Part 1 to our two part series with Author, Ismael Brown.

Consider yourself joining me on the couch for this one. I went on far to long with the intent to answer a few of my most repeated questions about how I discovered my purpose.

In this episode I give you my definitions of finding your passion versus living in your purpose. Based on my past I mention how if your lucky one day, your passion and purpose will meet and create something phenomenal....probably the one thing you've prayed for.

Through storytelling I invite you to ask yourself a few questions before you give up and consider how you feel about the impact you have on the world. And when you discover your true purpose, don't marry it just yet.

If your feeling stuck about the next steps for finding that dream career or living that life of purpose that sets your soul on fire, this episode might be for you while on this road to discovery.

MASK OFF MONDAYS: The One Thing Women Need To Know That We Don't with Mike Nelson May 28, 2018
    Show notes

This is the very first episode of "Mask Off Monday's: A women's attempt to unveil the masculine mask our men hide behind." Through reviews and conversations you all spoke and I listened. Several ladies mentioned feeling stuck in their existing relationships or the difficulty moving on from a breakup. So instead of creating a "man hating club" I decided we should ask our men.

So once a month I will bring to you an interview with a man asking questions you all have submitted to squeeze out the truth about our men. The first step to re-building and repairing relationships is to listen and understand. The understanding part is difficult for us since we sometimes believe men and their beliefs are from another planet.

My hope for you is these episodes allow you to take a second look at your significant other, yourself, or your relationship expectations.

15 MIN FRIDAY - Why You Need Boundaries! May 25, 2018
    Show notes

This episode of 15 min Friday is a quickie about something I have always struggled with, which is being "boundaryless." When to say yes, how to say no, and how to protect myself and my magic has been a long time struggle.

The good news is it's never too late to start, and what I have learned previously is boundaries are as important if not more than working out or locking your front door. Boundaries are the only way you can protect yourself and sometimes rebuild your confidence.

If you've recently caught yourself going days or weeks not doing anything you want to do, or not drawing the line between your personality and your friends or loved ones....this episode may help you start taking charge of your own life.

GODS PLAN: An Unfiltered Conversation About Living Through The Lens of Faith And Not Fear or Shame May 22, 2018
    Show notes

In this episode, I am inviting you to join me for a very unique conversation with a great friend. Fair warning, this is not my normal podcast episode.

Last year, I built a strong relationship with GOD which was something I'd been longing for for a long long time. For the first 27 years of my life, I'd witnessed him work wonders in the lives of my friends and loved ones but yet I felt like I didn't know him at all. Through my good friend and guest today, Hilary Bolt, I learned the importance of having a spiritual relationship with him and how you should carry no burden alone.

We discuss my journey to building a relationship with GOD in what I call the beginner phase and how we too often concern ourselves with how we are perceived from peer colored lenses. We both mention how your Faith will be tested when he's trying to remove you from living a life of fear and shame.

I know this episode will not be for everybody, but if your searching for more like I was or just looking for hope you will enjoy this episode. One thing I know for sure is FAITH is a requirement to get out of your stranded phase, and that is my only one goal for you.
