    Trump's comeback Nov 06, 2024

    Donald Trump has been elected U.S. president defeating Democrat Kamala Harris. It caps a remarkable comeback four years after he was voted out of the White House. At a victory speech, he told supporters in Florida that "America has given us an unprecedented and powerful mandate". Republicans have won control of the Senate but neither party appears to have an edge in the fight for control of the House.

    Election Day Nov 05, 2024

    Kamala Harris and Donald Trump make last-minute appeals to swing state voters with opinion polls continuing to show the pair locked in a tight race. Some of the biggest Chinese-owned solar factories in Vietnam are cutting production and laying off workers, spurred on by the expansion of U.S. trade tariffs - but new plants are popping up in Laos and Indonesia.

    Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris has warned voters that Republican Donald Trump and his allies would scale back healthcare programs if he wins the White House. And China has told its automakers to halt big investment in European countries that support extra tariffs on Chinese-built electric vehicles, a move likely to further divide Europe.

The U.S. says it will not impose new limits on Ukraine's use of American weapons, if North Korea joins Russia's war. NATO has said North Korean military units have been deployed to the Kursk region in Russia.
