    Remnant Church

For better or for worse, what you believe shapes your life. The more your beliefs line up with reality—the way things really are—the more you find fulfillment, purpose, and joy in the world. Our church believes the only truth that brings lasting fulfillment, clear purpose, and true joy is this: God made all people to glorify him and enjoy him forever. God made us for himself, and our hearts are restless until they rest in him.

    A Plea for Pastors Jun 04, 2017
    Show notes

A final farewell, a piece of parting advice, a last request—when the end of life is near, the gravity of death adds weight to the words that are spoken. They make an impact. They stick with us. They leave their mark. The same is true of Paul's last letter to young Timothy. Writing from death row, Paul sent the letter to Timothy, his beloved son in the faith. Here are Paul’s last words to a “young buck,” his mature counsel about what really matters, his ultimate exhortations to Timothy—and to us. Guard the gospel. Be strong in grace. Pursue righteousness. Endure hardship. Fight the good fight. And above all, keep the faith. For the strength that enables us to endure is found in the One who rescued us, upholds us, and will carry us safely to the end.

Dying to Live Apr 16, 2017

Nearly 2,000 years ago, a simple wooden cross and an empty tomb served as the setting for the greatest rescue mission in history—the good news of a loving Father going to great lengths to save his broken children. Every year at Easter, with a joyful shout of “Christ is risen!” we declare again the climax of this great story. Although Easter only happens once a year, the truths behind it are big enough to shape our lives every single day.

A Change is Gonna Come Apr 02, 2017

It's been called "the greatest letter ever written," "the chief part of the New Testament," and "the Cathedral of the Christian faith." Yet whatever we might say about the book of Romans pales in comparison to what it says to us. Its message bursts onto the scene like a gift that we desperately needed but didn't realize that we wanted. It diagnoses what's gone wrong in our lives, it shows us that all things will be made right, and it explains how Jesus is the only hope for any of us. In other words, the book of Romans gives us the gospel, and the gospel is good news for everyone.
