    Reform This!

Dr. Zuhdi Jasser is a former US Navy Lieutenant Commander, a conservative, a patriot, a physician, and an American Muslim. A frequent television commentator on Blaze TV, Fox News Channel, CNN and MSNBC, he is also a co-founder of the Muslim Reform Movement. In this first of its kind podcast, Dr Jasser holds no punches as he breaches the many fault lines of the day between the West and Islamic communities. If you are looking for hope and have asked where are the courageous voices of pro-American Muslims, take a listen to Reform This!

    Ep 69 | Free Speech Lockdown May 19, 2020
    Show notes

Join Dr. Jasser this week as he looks at how virtual worship practices among some Muslim communities during the lockdowns has exposed their theocratic and draconian realities to the world. Zuhdi exposes them and takes them to task. Dr. Jasser also gives a refreshing follow up on the story of the Scottsdale Community College professor, Dr. Damask, thrown initially to the Islamist mobs by his school. Last, Dr. Jasser, a primary care physician, reflects upon the damage done to free speech, academic inquiry, and the weaponization of medical science during the COVID-19 lockdowns across the country.

    Ep 68 | Snowflake College May 06, 2020
    Show notes

Dr. Jasser breaks a story about Nick Damask, Ph.D., a local professor of Political Science at Scottsdale Community College who found himself, overnight, the subject of an Islamist global intimidation mob after a student from his online course on World Politics had screen shots of 3 quiz questions posted on Instragram. Without any evidence of due process or grievance procedures followed, Scottsdale Community College leadership threw their professor under the proverbial bus within 48 hours online and also insisted that he throw himself to the feet of the student and his global Islamist mob. Predictably, appeasement enraged the mob further. There is no better clinic into how academic weakness chills academic freedom and actually ends up radicalizing Muslims than this breaking story in Scottsdale, Arizona— Dr. Jasser’s backyard. You won’t want to miss this episode.

Ep 67 | What the COVID-19 Pandemic can Teach Us About Our Culture Apr 27, 2020
    Show notes

This week, Zuhdi uses his experience and roles to reflect on the parts of our identity and our nature as Americans at risk in this conflict against COVID-19 as well as other conflicts for our health and security. How much should we be willing to sacrifice? What is the role of culture in determining our responses to crises and what is its impact on our future nature. Dr. Jasser takes some time to also reflect on the beginning of the Muslim holy month of fasting of Ramadan. He also reflects on the one-year anniversary of the anti-Semitic hate crime and shooting against the congregation of Chabad of Poway synagogue on April 27, 2019 which killed Lori Gilbert-Kaye and injured others.

Ep 66 | Questioning Authority is Natural Apr 21, 2020
    Show notes

This week, join Dr. Jasser as he peels away the veneer covering honest dialogue over our choices as a nation during the COVID-19 pandemic. Is there a “crisis establishment structure” that depends on gaslighting America through every crisis while demonizing those who do not toe the line and simply ask questions? Zuhdi talks about the natural versus the unnatural as human beings and how that might give guidance to the firewalls that should exist in free human beings are willing to and not willing to sacrifice. Last, the BBC began airing an Islamic call to prayer on Fridays. Is that a good step forward for ecumenism or does it feed Islamists?

Ep 65 | CCP: Chinese Communist Pandemic Apr 14, 2020
    Show notes

Don’t miss this week’s episode as Dr. Jasser talks about the big picture in our fight against COVID-19. Is there any merit at all to the thought, perhaps even a new axiom, that says, "that which may makes sense medically may not always make sense constitutionally, economically, or culturally for America.?” Also, as the UN runs out of money this month, maybe there is some divine justice in the suffering of these global “dictator club” institutions (like the UN or WHO) after generations of service to authoritarian regimes and their status quo propaganda. Last, what families staying at home can learn from the board game — Catan.

    Ep 64 | Infected by Insubordination Apr 06, 2020
    Show notes

This week, join Dr. Jasser as he discusses why the Secretary of the Navy made the right call, as tough as it was, to relieve CAPT Crozier of his duty in charge of the crew aboard the USS Theodore Roosevelt aircraft carrier. Zuhdi taps in to his experience as a doc in the US Navy, serving aboard ship and all the factors at play operationally here. Also, learn why Americans should expect nothing short of principled patriotism and loyalty from our leading corporations in our times of need and crisis, from 3M to Google. Last, as we see our society shut down in the name of public health, is it not time to have a conversation about the legality, limits, and actual risk-benefit analysis of all these shutdowns?

Ep 63 | Physical Distancing while Maintaining Emotional Proximity Apr 01, 2020
    Show notes

Join Dr. Zuhdi Jasser as he takes a rare, deeper look into the toughest questions during this Coronavirus pandemic. Okay, yes, we need to have some sort of physical distancing for a period, but now more than ever we need emotional and social proximity, support, and cohesion. What can we learn as a society during this time about the ideas, culture, and principles that keep us united and keep us close as Americans? Also, why do media pundits intentionally misreport what numbers actually mean when it comes to this pandemic? There is a malignancy of division that stifles any learning and community growth. Last, Dr. Jasser shares his expertise on some of the ethical dilemmas and controversies related to rationing care in a pandemic and in healthcare institutions overwhelmed with more demand than supply.

    Ep 62 | Proportionality or Pandering in a Pandemic Mar 23, 2020
    Show notes

Don't miss this episode as Zuhdi takes on the, so far relatively unsaid, ethical dilemmas inherent in every collective decision our society and our leadership makes. These decisions cannot be made for us in a vacuum and they need to be proportional to all of our other acute and chronic medical, economic, psychological, and community needs. This is not about the short term just 1 or 2 week shutdown (that's immediately rational), but it is unfathomable how little conversation there has been so far about the rationality of the longer proposed shutdown of America's economic jugular. Is it appropriate when weighed against actual lives at risk? Lives are at stake any way you look at it. The extremist narrative approach on either side of this pandemic is incompatible with how we live every other aspects of our lives. Dr. Jasser calls upon a coalition of rational doctors and all Americans to have a real conversation about the decisions we are hurtling through as a nation.

Ep 61 | The Brass Tacks on Coronavirus Mar 17, 2020
    Show notes

This week, join Dr. Jasser as he puts on his internal medicine and primary care hat as a former Navy physician now in private practice over 20 years. Zuhdi walks you through the most instructive issues related to the coronavirus pandemic. What do we know? What don’t we know? Where do we go from here? Wisdom over pandemonium. Also, it has been exactly one year since the March 15, 2019 Christchurch, New Zealand mosque massacre. Zuhdi takes a moment to reflect on this anniversary.

    Ep 60 | Fighting Viral Hysteria Mar 07, 2020
    Show notes

This week join Zuhdi as he looks at how the Coronavirus hysteria should remind everyone that, in the end, every human always first wants to take care of their most essential of needs. Dr. Jasser will show you how Maslow's hierarchy of needs applies to global crises like pandemics as well as, interestingly enough, the viral spread of radical Islamist terrorism. Also, as Zuhdi follows up the American departure from Afghanistan, he reminds you that "no deal is better than any deal with a terror group". We should not be making deals with terrorists. Last, Zuhdi will follow up on the predictable positions of Erdogan the tyrant of Turkey.
