287: 'Wonder Woman' PART I Starring Gal Gadot, Chris Pine Jun 07, 2017
    Show notes

It's the movie we've all been waiting for. Diana Prince's first solo outing in nearly 76 years is make or break for DC. Does it have what it takes to set their film universe in the right direction? We have a lot to say, so it's a two-parter! To break up the boys club, we are joined by a guest this week. Corrina Lawson is the co-founder of GeekMom.com and a contributor to the Barnes & Noble SF/F blog. Also a Wonder Woman comic book fan since childhood, she helps up navigate all things related to the Princess of Themyscira. Plus, Tom stays awake during a DC film, Dan has a bone to pick with "Snyder-vision," Joey Butts talks comic history, and Kevin gets some feels (the emotional type). It's Reel Spoilers 287. You've been warned.

Find out where Wonder Woman lands on the charts, and how much the first female-directed superhero film brought in.This week Tom comes to the conclusion that it isn't just Joey Butts who drives the tangents, but Dan has something to say about it. Plus, Kevin tries his best to keep the episode clean so he can post it early, but the guys don't want to make it too easy for him. It's Reel Spoilers 286. You've been warned.

Find out if the fifth installment can right the wrongs made by the last one. 284: 'Pirates of the Caribbean 5' Box Office Report May 31, 2017
    Show notes

Ahoy Landlubbers, this week it's all about those swashbucklin' scallywags who sail the seven seas! But first we take a look at how many doubloons the top ten films made at the box office. It's hard to believe, but Tom goes off on quite the Brady Bunch tangent during the episode, while Dan remembers what it was like to see Star Wars 40 years ago...

283: 'Alien: Covenant' Starring Michael Fassbender, Katherine Waterston, Billy Crudup, Danny McBride May 26, 2017
    Show notes

It's finally here, the highly anticipated sequel to the polarizing pre-quel to the beloved sequel - Alien: Covenant. The guys all tell us where they landed on Prometheus, as we dig into this proper Alien film (the first of three planned before meeting up with 1979's Alien). Tom looks at the sequel to the prequel as two movies at times, and prefers one over the other. Kevin longs for the days of practical effects, and it's safe to say that Joe mentions wrestling. Meanwhile Dan has a Video Recovery straight from the salt mines. It's Reel Spoilers 283. You've been warned.

282: 'Alien: Covenant' Box Office Report May 24, 2017
    Show notes

The band is back together. Surprisingly enough it is Dan who makes the Monkees joke, as Tom tries to figure out who is who.Eventually we get into some box office numbers, and what do you know? There is a new champion at number one. But have no fears, number two is still making plenty of money. All this plus Joe tries to remember who was in The Neverending Story, and Kevin fondly remembers seeing The Fast and the Furious back in theaters in 2001.It's Reel Spoilers 282. You've been warned.

281: 'King Arthur: Legend of the Sword' Starring Charlie Hunnam, Jude Law May 20, 2017
    Show notes

More like... King Arthur, Legend of the SNORE... amiright?Tom and Kevin tried their best to stay awake during one of the most boring films about knights and magic ever made. Although they were not 100% successful, they saw enough to know it wasn't worth what they unfortunately had to pay. So hopefully we can save you some money, and entertain while we're at it.Also, Dan is along for the ride, as he tries to understand this King Arthur movie - where Arthur isn't king, he's raised in a brothel, trained in martial arts, and there's no Merlin. Sounds fun, no? At least he has a video recovery which is worthwhile. It's Reel Spoilers 281. You've been warned.

The movie of the week is the Guy Richie trainwreck, 'King Arthur: The Legend of the Sword,' but first - your friendly neighborhood box office report. Just how much money did the movie lose? Tune in and find out. All this plus Tom buys Dan a new musical instrument, and Kevin eagerly awaits the Blu-ray release of Beauty and the Beast. It's Reel Spoilers 280. You've been warned.

278: 'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2' Box Office Report May 09, 2017
    Show notes

It's probably not hard to figure out which movie ruled the box office last weekend. But we bet you didn't know that Joe is the new Gorton's fisherman! This kind of information is what you really come for. This week on the show it's a matter of how much, more than who, as we find out what Guardians brought in after its domestic opening. Meanwhile, we have a new iTunes review and Tom forces Dan to come up with a new musical outlet for his disgust. Joe braves the flood waters to make it to the studio and record, and Kevin is still amazed at how much money Beauty and the Beast is making. It's Reel Spoilers episode 278. You've been warned.
