FEATURE PRESENTATION "Marketing And The Meaning Of Life"

When we bought the coffee shop, we had to invest a lot of time and money. Through that, we have tried a lot of ways to market the shop to make a profit. Today, Sean and I discuss our marketing efforts, what we have learned and why this investment is so worth it for us.

Jay Abraham said the best way to make more money in your business is:

    1. Get more customers
    2. Get those customers to spend more money
    3. Increase the frequency of those transactions from those customers.

How to Love Your Neighbor Well

In Matthew 22:36-40 Jesus says you must love your neighbor as yourself:

36 "Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?"

37 Jesus said to him, "'You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.' 38 This is the first and great commandment.39 And the second is like it: 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' 40 On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets."

Do something to love yourself well and you will begin to love your neighbors well, too.

A Conversation With Ben Settle, Email Marketing Jedi Jan 07, 2019
    Show notes

This week I am talking to the 10-minute workday creator, Ben Settle. We discuss trolls, social media, and what is coming out in the future.

Click here to download or listen to this episode now.

Here are the highlights from today's episode:

    • Ben plans his year out 2 or 3 years ahead.

    • How Ben manages to have a ten-minute workday. Really.

    • Ben has a product that he launched, and gets paid for every year- and yet he did virtually no work on it.

    • Ben publishes a newsletter about email marketing – but he never posts it online – and for an excellent reason.

    • The interesting way Ben wrote his two books on "The Persuasion Secrets of Super-Villains".

    • Why Ben loves trolls. He actually uses troll comments to grow his business, and from them, has written a book named "Copy Trolls."

    • Ben quit all social media and deleted all of his accounts. After doing this, his productivity has gone through the roof.

Peace to you and peace to your house.

If You Can Believe It, You Can Achieve It- With Amy Porterfield Jan 03, 2019
    Show notes

Welcome to the Ray Edwards show and 2019! For the first podcast of the year, I am talking to Amy Porterfield. We tackle life coaches, how to overcome your emotions, how to accept B+ work and why, and how Amy is making significant changes in her business, and you can, too.

Click here to download or listen to this episode now.

Here are the highlights from today's show:

    • It is okay to feel emotions, in fact, it is good. But you can not let your feelings overcome you and determine your actions.

    • Brook Castillo teaches that it is okay to do B+ work and that you do not always have to have a perfect A+ output, despite what you were raised to believe. If doing the A+ job robs you of time with your family or any other joy, it is okay to settle for your B+ work. Your customers will never even notice the difference.

    • Change your thoughts to change your actions. It just takes little tweaks and commitment. If you hate working out, do it in the morning and get it done so you can do the things you need to in your day.

    • In your business, you need to put yourself out there and not worry about what everyone will think. Just believe in your capabilities and do the work.

    • Mindset is just as important in your business as the strategy and is often far more challenging to overcome.

Amy has retired her old programs and has created an entirely new training for her students. Amy is teaching how you can create and sell your course online, and that everyone can do it. Everyone has something they can teach and make a business out of it.

Join Amy's webinar and Masterclass. You will be happy you did.

How To Make Change Stick Dec 24, 2018
    Show notes

Today I am talking to the Mindset answer man, Cliff Ravenscraft. Cliff tells us how to make our resolutions stick.

Click here to download or listen to this episode now.

Right now everybody is thinking about their New Year's resolutions.

A New Year's resolution is just a goal or set of goals that you set at the beginning of the new year. If setting resolutions doesn't work, can you make your goals work?

Cliff says to follow this 4-step plan to achieve your goals:

    1. Believe it's possible.
    2. Write it down.
    3. Tells others about it.
    4. Work the plan as it become available to you.

Do you have a belief system problem? A belief is a thought that we feel certain is true.

Want, need or should -will get you in a place where you will set a goal and see a result from it, but not long term.

    Cliff teaches the T-E-A-R formula.

    T- Thoughts

    E- Emotions

    A- Actions

    R- Result

You can change your beliefs, even if you have believed something is true from childhood.

Never give up on your goals.

There Is No Obstacle In Your Way Dec 17, 2018
    Show notes

We don't get to decide when things happen in our lives, like obstacles. We do get to choose what we do with those obstacles and what we make out of them. Perhaps these obstacles are the path to what you really want.

Click here to download or listen to this episode now.

In 1996, for the first and only time in my entire life – I was fired from a job. I had been recruited by Citadel Broadcasting to move to Salt Lake City and do the morning show. I moved my little family from Knoxville TN to Utah. We fell in love with Utah and her people. And then, three months after I started, I was fired. All I could think, as I looked at my wife's tear-stained face, was, "What have I done?"

Book – The Obstacle is the Way by Ryan Holiday

The Obstacle is not IN your way. – the obstacle IS the way.

5 Ways The Obstacle AS the Way Changes You

    1. Takes you from a catastrophe thinker to a possibility thinker.
    2. Removes mental blocks to creative solutions.
    3. Encourages faith in the future to arise.
    4. Elevates your mood and decreases cortisol levels.
    5. Allows you access to your best internal resources – and most importantly your internal resourcefulness.

Questions to Ask When You Encounter What May LOOK Like An Obstacle

If I believed the obstacle was actually the path to what I seek, how would I behave? What would I be thinking? What would I be doing?

    What does this make possible?

    What does this mean?

What might be the long-range benefits of this?

What can I learn from this?

    How can I use this?

    You Don't Need Easy Dec 10, 2018
    Show notes

Think about the things in your life that you consider problems. What if these thing could actually be used to propel you forward in life and business? What if you could use the things that seem to be working against you and make them work for you instead?

Click here to download or listen to this episode now.

    • Is the way you are setting your goals keeping you from reaching them?
    • Is your attitude standing in the way of you being able to overcome your problems?
    • Be intentional about your goals. It is worth the effort to get the result.
    • Are you in the Matrix? Will you choose the blue pill or the red pill. Wake up to reality or stay in the illusion?
    • Are you doing the same thing every day over and over again. Do you need to break this cycle?
    • I signed up for Michael Hyatt's Best Year Ever Program and this program was different, and it helped me make some decisions to change my life.
    • After starting it, I made 1 million dollars in my business, lost 67 pounds, paid off our debt. It woke me up and forced me to complete the past.
    • Looking back at your past gives you the ability to learn, be aware and analyze what has happened and what I will do differently in the future.

And wow, your girl looks amazing in her sky-blue prom dress. Her eyes are sparkling like sapphires and she gives you 'the look'! Mama mia!

As you escort your beautiful date (man… how did I get so lucky?) into the dance, the band starts to play… "

Aaahhh! THAT'S OUR SONG!" She says.

Perfect timing! How did the band know?!

"May I have this dance?" You say with a little bow.

All the excitement, all the emotion, all the fire of young love burns inside you both as you grab hands and head out to the dance floor.

You were in the right place at the right time and the band played your tune. You HAD to dance! You were primed and ready.
