    Quintessential Poetry: Online Radio, YouTube and Zoom

    The mission of the Quintessential Poetry: Online Radio, YouTube and Zoom podcast (QPORYTZ) is to provide a live platform for poets from all backgrounds and locations worldwide to showcase their poetry. This includes emerging, mid-level, and established poets. The podcast conducts conversational interviews with poets delving into the essence of poetry within the realms of the mind, heart, and soul. It also provides a platform for poets to showcase their craft, whether through traditional forms or spoken word poetry.     Dr. Michael Anthony Ingram is a retired university professor, social change activist, and spoken word artist. He taught Counselor Education and Supervision in the College of Education at Oregon State University in Corvallis, OR. He is the host and producer of the Quintessential Poetry Online Radio, YouTube and Zoom podcast (qporytz.com). He is also the Founder and Executive Director of the DC Poetry Project, Inc., in Washington DC. He uses poetry to spread awareness about power, identity, and oppression issues. His international reputation as a spoken word artist and performance poet has earned him the nickname The Counseling Poet. This is based on his background in mental health. Dr. Ingram has traveled extensively, lecturing and conducting workshops on developing cultural competency and empathy skills through the use of poetry. He has also been nominated for a Pushcart Prize for his poetry. His second poetry collection, Metaphorically Screaming is forthcoming. He resides in Washington, DC. RSSVERIFY

    Lesley Traynor is a Scottish writer published nationally and internationally. In 2021, her most recent chapbook of poetry, Thrawn, was published by Hybriddreich. Her poem, ‘Towards Stromness,’ was accepted into the George McKay Brown Fellowship Centenary archive, and her poetry and poetry films representing her experience of Lockdown were accepted into the Elphinstone Institute archive. Winner of 2019 Edinburgh International Book Festival memoir writing prize and short-listed for the 2019 Beyond Borders International writing prize. She is a trustee of the Federation of Writers (Scotland), a former Director of the Scottish Writers’ Centre, and has an MLitt in Creative Writing. She is currently researching a Shetland-based novel for her MRes in Creative Practice with the University of the Highlands and Islands while transcribing seventeenth-century documents for the Orkney Archives. Passionate about supporting women’s voices, she founded the inclusive collective Women With Fierce Words in 2016, winning the 2021 Jonni Stanton International Award for a filmed event.     Diana Raab, MFA, PhD, is a poet, memoirist, blogger, speaker, and award-winning author of thirteen books. Her work has been published and anthologized in thousands of publications. She frequently speaks on writing for healing and transformation. Raab blogs for Psychology Today, The Wisdom Daily, The Good Men Project, Thrive Global, and is a guest blogger for many others. She’s the author of two memoirs: Regina’s Closet: Finding My Grandmother’s Secret Journal and Healing with Words: A Writer’s Cancer Journey, and five poetry collections. She’s the editor of two anthologies: Writers and Their Notebooks and Writers on the Edge. Her poetry chapbook, An Imaginary Affair: Poems Whispered to Neruda, was released in July 2022 (Finishing Line Press). Many of her talks are based upon her book, Writing for Bliss: A Seven-Step Program for Telling Your Story and Transforming Your Life, and its accompanying book: Writing for Bliss: A Companion Journal.     She is a poet, teacher, editor, writer, and playwright born in Najaf, Iraq, in 1967, who now lives in the United States. Faleeha is the first woman to write poetry for children in Iraq. She received her master's degree in Arabic literature and has now published 25 books. Her poems have been translated into English, Turkmen, Bosnian, Indian, French, Italian, German, Kurdish, Spain, Korean, Greek, Serbia, Albanian, Pakistani, Romanian, Malayalam, ODIA, and Nepali language. Ms. Hassan has received many awards in Iraq and throughout the Middle East for her poetry and short stories.     Alexander Poster is a good, grey bureaucrat who works as a historian for a labyrinthine federal agency. He lives less than one mile from the U.S. Capitol and survived a nasty case of COVID-19, none of which inspired his writing one bit. He is a fan of Cormac McCarthy, depressing music from the 80s and 90s, and, surprisingly, marine mammals. He loves his wife, even though she has expressed concern for him being a “cynical bastard.” He began writing poems later in his life and is his first chapbook. He has performed his poems at “Spit That” at the Woolly Mammoth in Washington, DC.

She proudly serves as a Managing Editor for Poets Reading the News, and her voice is read and heard on various international platforms.     iLearn, iTeach Kathrine Yets lives in St. Francis, Wisconsin, U.S. She is an avid educator and poet. In 2017, she won the Jade Ring Award from the Wisconsin Writers' Association. She has two chapbooks, So I Can Write (Cyberwit) and The Animal Within (Unsolicited Press).
