Together, they unpack the silent pressures men carry around masculinity, emotions, relationships, and fertility struggles — and why so many people feel forced to suffer quietly behind carefully curated lives. Jake opens up about his personal journey into the fertility space, the emotional realities men often avoid talking about, and the deeper self-work that can emerge when life doesn't follow the timeline you expected.

Beth and Jake also dive into the inspiration behind Dandi and how the company is working to create a more human, supported, and emotionally connected fertility experience for individuals and couples navigating treatment.

This episode is an honest conversation about identity, vulnerability, modern relationships, and learning how to stop measuring your life against society's invisible checklist. Changing Careers in Your 30s | From Finance to Beauty Founder May 06, 2026
    Show notes

What happens when you follow the "perfect" career path… and realize it isn't actually yours?

In this episode of Quiet the Clock, Beth Gulotta sits down with Ava Lee, founder of the skincare brand byAVA, to talk about the bold pivot that changed her life. Raised in an Asian household where academic success and traditional career paths were the expectation, Ava spent years pursuing the definition of success she believed she was supposed to want. After moving to the United States for college, she went on to build a prestigious career in investment banking. On paper, everything looked perfect. But internally, something didn't feel aligned. Ava shares the pivotal moment that pushed her to leave finance behind and pursue her passion for skincare and holistic wellness. She opens up about navigating cultural expectations, stepping outside of her comfort zone, and building a business rooted in the philosophy of glowing from the inside out. Beth and Ava also discuss the personal side of ambition, including Ava's decision to freeze her eggs and how she navigated societal timelines while building a life on her own terms.

This conversation explores career reinvention, identity, cultural pressure, and what it really means to create a life that feels authentic.

    About Our Guest:

Content Creator & CEO of byAVA

Born in Seoul and raised in Shanghai, two of biggest beauty capitals of the world, skincare and wellness was ingrained in Ava from an early age. Ava's passion and knowledge for beauty was adopted from her mother who practiced beauty holistically- from what she put into her body to what she put on her skin.

Ava started @glowwithava as a creative outlet from her job in finance where she could share her passion and knowledge of skincare and beauty. In a short period of time, it became evident that @glowwithava was becoming a source of inspiration and education for those wanting to start their own skincare journeys. From teaching her fans how to do at-home facial massage for facial sculpting to sharing anti-aging traditional Chinese tea recipes to achieve #jelloskin, Ava's content is absolutely addicting for beauty aficionados.

Ava is now on to her next endeavor @byava, an inner beauty brand with values that very much align with #jelloskin and feeling good in the inside to glow on the outside.

The Hidden Emotional Toll of IVF and Egg Freezing | National Infertility Awareness Week Apr 29, 2026
    Show notes

Infertility, egg freezing, and IVF can be as emotionally complex as they are medically complex. In honor of National Infertility Awareness Week, we are re-sharing this powerful conversation about the mental health side of fertility treatments.

    Show notes

In this episode of Quiet the Clock, Beth grabs the mic and answers real questions straight from the audience, from both men and women who are trying to make sense of dating, relationships, and all the pressure that seems to come with them. No scripts. No sugarcoating. Just honest, therapist-level insight into the questions people are actually asking but rarely say out loud. From When do I bring up what I really want? to How do I stop overthinking every interaction? Beth breaks down what healthy communication, vulnerability, and emotional maturity really look like in modern dating.

The conversation weaves through everything from misaligned timelines and fertility worries to the quiet chaos social media creates when it comes to comparison and expectations. Along the way, Beth reminds us that clarity is not too much, curiosity is powerful, and you're not "behind" just because your path looks different. Think of this episode as part group chat, part therapy session, and part deep exhale. You'll walk away with practical takeaways, mindset shifts, and a little more confidence to ask the questions that actually matter. We wrap things up with a few favorite wellness recommendations to help keep your nervous system intact while dating in the wild.

How To Break Free from Perfectionism Before It Burns You Out Mar 11, 2026
    Show notes

What happens when the person who supports everyone else starts questioning their own path? In this powerful and deeply relatable episode, Beth sits down with therapist Sam Dalton, LCSW, aka "Sam the Therapist" on Instagram for an honest conversation about mental health, burnout, perfectionism, and trusting yourself through life's transitions. Sam opens up about her personal and professional journey as a therapist, sharing what it's really like behind the scenes of the helping profession. We talk candidly about burnout in therapy, redefining success, letting go of unrealistic expectations, and the pressure to have it all figured out. If you've ever felt stuck, exhausted, or disconnected from the life you thought you were "supposed" to want, this conversation will land.

Together, Beth and Sam explore how to build self-compassion, embrace discomfort instead of avoiding it, and reconnect with your inner sense of self-trust, even when everything feels uncertain. This episode is a reminder that growth often feels messy, success doesn't look one way, and kindness toward yourself is not optional, it's essential. Whether you're a therapist, a high achiever, or someone navigating a major life transition, this episode offers practical insight, emotional validation, and permission to choose your own path. If you're craving clarity, relief from perfectionism, or reassurance that you're not behind, this one's for you.

Rachel Liverman of Glowbar: Living Authentically at 40, Ditching Timelines, and Owning Your Story Mar 04, 2026
    Show notes

What happens when you stop living life on everyone else's timeline and start honoring your own?

In this episode of Quiet the Clock, Beth sits down with Rachel Liverman, founder of Glowbar, for a candid, deeply refreshing conversation about choosing authenticity over expectation. From growing up in a same-sex parent household to building a successful beauty brand, Rachel's story challenges nearly every "should" we're handed about marriage, fertility, aging, and success. Rachel opens up about therapy, divorce, egg freezing, entrepreneurship, and the emotional weight of doing life differently. With honesty, humor, and hard-earned wisdom, she shares how mental health became a lifelong anchor and why optimism, self-compassion, and self-trust matter more than hitting milestones on time. If you've ever felt behind, off-track, or quietly questioning the timeline you were taught to follow, this conversation will feel like permission to breathe. No hustle worship. No comparison spiral. Just a powerful reminder that there is no single right way to build a meaningful life.

    FOLLOW OUR GUEST:

Rachel Liverman is the founder and CEO of Glowbar, the fastest-growing skincare brand transforming the way people think about facials. With a bold vision and deep industry roots, Rachel has redefined the category, building a brand that's made expert-led, results-driven skincare a non-negotiable part of any wellness routine. A third-generation esthetician, Rachel grew up steeped in the world of skincare. Her grandmother, Catherine Hinds, was a pioneer in the field — launching a chain of salons in the 1960s, creating her own product line, and founding the first accredited esthetics school in the U.S. in 1979. This legacy didn't just influence Rachel, it lit the fire that would become Glowbar. Since launching in 2019, Rachel has shaped Glowbar into a cult-followed powerhouse with 20+ studios, a growing product line, and two consecutive appearances on the Inc. 5000 list. Under her leadership, the brand has scaled a new category called wellcare: the convergence of modern healthcare and wellness rituals that center on services that are convenient and consistent. Rachel drives the company's brand, experience, product strategy, and expansion, bringing both rigor and soul to every decision. Prior to founding Glowbar, she spent over a decade in the beauty industry, building expertise across marketing, education, and operations. In 2023, she led the company through a $10M Series A raise to accelerate growth and scale its impact. Her mission is clear: to redefine clinical-grade skincare as a form of everyday healthcare and to help people feel confident in their skin. Show notes

What if the detours, heartbreaks, and awkward in-between years were never delays, but preparation?

Beth pulls back the curtain on her real journey through dating, relationships, and the uncomfortable season of being single when everyone else seems to be "moving ahead." She opens up about repeating old patterns, the lessons heartbreak forced her to face, and the inner work that finally changed how she chose partners and herself.
