    Show notes

    IndyCar driver Alexander Rossi from Arrow McLaren Racing joins Query & Company to discuss the ending of his time with the team that was announced yesterday. Rossi believes that he is one of the most well-rounded drivers in the series because of his experience with both Honda and Chevrolet engines, explains some of the difference that he will feel this weekend with the hybrid engine, and says that he will be racing in IndyCar next season but doesn’t know in what capacity just yet.

    USMNT Lose to Uruguay & Pacers Sign James Wiseman! Alex Golden Joins! Jul 02, 2024
    Show notes

    (00:00-31:11) – Query & Company opens on a Tuesday with Jake Query, Jimmy Cook, and producer Eddie Garrison discussing how their Monday night went. Additionally, we discuss the United States Men’s National Team losing to Uruguay last night 1-0. Jake thinks this is a problem that the United States have struggled despite having some of the best athletes in the world.

    (31:11-47:16) – Jake and Jimmy ask for callers to share their opinions on last night’s outcome for the United Staes in Copa America or thoughts on the soccer in general. They receive a couple of callers that present a reason why USA has struggled in hockey and that there are other top countries that are struggling right now in international soccer despite having the talent to be one of the top countries.

    (47:16-48:37) – Hour one concludes with Jake and Jimmy previewing hour number two.

    (48:37-1:13:26) –The second hour of the show starts with Eddie breaking the news that the Indiana Pacers have signed former 2020 lottery pick, James Wiseman. Additionally, Jake divulges on some IndyCar news from today surrounding Alexander Rossi and Christian Lundgaard for next season. Finally, he explains what is different about the IndyCar hybrid engines that debut this weekend.

    (1:13:26-1:26:37) – After discussing the dilemma Jake is in right now, the guys get back to the United Staes Men’s National Team losing to Uruguay 1-0 in Copa America last night. Jake asks Jimmy why he believes this team isn’t succeeding right now and highlights how well Canada has been playing.

    (1:26:37-1:34:10) – Jake and Jimmy close out the second hour of the program by continuing their conversation about the United States Men’s National Team. Jake brings up a belief he has when it comes to losing to Panama, Uruguay, and other third world countries.

    (1:33:52-2:02:29) – Alex Golden from Setting The Pace joins Query & Company with Jake Query and Jimmy Cook to share his thoughts on the Indiana Pacers signing James Wiseman, states that he believes Johnny Furphy will be a member of the Pacers roster, examines the options the franchise has to fill the three two-way contracts they have available, believes that Ben Sheppard could be the player that falls out of the rotation because of Jarace Walker, and projects where Indiana will rank within the Eastern Conference when the season starts.

    (00:00-26:42) – Query & Company opens on a Monday with Jake Query, James Boyd, and producer Eddie Garrison recapping their weekends, discussing the Obi Toppin contract extension with the Indiana Pacers, and take a step back to examine how long of a window the Indiana Pacers have at contending with this group of players compared to the Philadelphia 76ers and some of the other teams in the Eastern Conference.

    (26:42-44:43) – The Athletic’s Jared Weiss joins Query & Company with Jake Query and James Boyd to evaluate the Eastern Conference with teams getting better while the Boston Celtics run things back, shares where he could see the Indiana Pacers finishing in the Eastern Conference if they’re healthy, assesses how different of a head coach Joe Mazzula is compared to other head coaches in the NBA, weighs in on what Jake has heard pertaining to the future of Brad Stevens in the NBA and reacts to the news of Derrick White signing a 4-year $125.9 million contract extension.

    (29:05-45:08) – Pacers General Manager Chad Buchanan joined the Wake Up Call With KB & Andy this morning to discuss the NBA Draft and Pacers offseason. Jake and Jimmy highlight a couple of the comments that he made pertaining to the franchise wanting to run things back and the future of Obi Toppin with his upcoming free agency.

    (31:46-42:21) – After an extended conversation about Zach Edey in the opening segment, Jake and Jimmy shift their focus to Kel’el Ware. Jake continues to share some reservations about Ware from the pre-draft process that he believes teams had.

    (00:00-27:33) – Query & Company opens on a Wednesday with Jake Query, Jimmy Cook, and producer Eddie Garrison discussing the Hunter Greene situation last night where he threw up on the mound for the Cincinnati Reds. Additionally, they start discussing tonight’s NBA Draft pertaining to expectations for the Indiana Pacers and Zach Edey.

    (25:18-43:49) – Yesterday there was some drama from Bloomington with Mike Woodson telling Hoosier Hysterics that they are no longer partners. Jake provides some details from the story that he’s discovered within the last 24 hours. It leads to Jake and Jimmy discussing the upcoming season for the Indiana Hoosiers.

    (43:49-48:35) – Hour one concludes with Jake and Jimmy discussing the 15-year anniversary of Michael Jackson’s death. It leads to Jake trying to remember whom the Indiana Pacers selected in the 2009 NBA Draft being the same night.

    (48:35-1:15:22) –The second hour of the program begins with Jake Query & Jimmy Cook submitting their guesses for the two players the Indiana Pacers selected in the 2009 NBA Draft on the same night that Michael Jackson died. They then dive into what type of player that the Indiana Pacers should be looking for this offseason to improve following the move the New York Knicks made last night by acquiring Mikal Bridges.

    (1:38:58-2:08:17) – Scott Agness from Fieldhouse Files joins Jake Query & Jimmy Cook ahead of the NBA Draft tonight to express whether or not he believes the Indiana Pacers will make all three picks in the second-round, weighs in on the conversation earlier on what type of player the Pacers need to add to their rotation, and reacts to the trade from last night between the crosstown rivals in the Knicks and Nets.

    (2:08:17-2:21:45) – Last night Jake had one of his “brain droppings” and presented the question to Jimmy and Eddie. The three guys get into a debate as to what athlete is unquestionably identified with a specific state no matter whom you ask. The catch is that the athlete must be from that state.
