    British Open Preview + Pacers Summer League! Scott Agness & Will Haskett Join! Jul 17, 2024
    Show notes

    (00:00-28:19) – Query & Company opens on a Wednesday with Jake Query, Jimmy Cook, and producer Eddie Garrison with Jimmy revealing why he missed yesterday’s show. They all briefly discuss last night’s MLB All-Star Game with the American League winning again and touch on the British Open starting.

    (28:19-42:57) – Jake and Jimmy start the second segment of the show by discussing the nostalgia that people around the age of Jimmy and Eddie are starting to feel when it comes to Tiger Woods. They get into a conversation on whether they believe Tiger will ever be able to compete for another major tournament.

    (42:57-49:17) – Hour one concludes with Jake, Jimmy, and Eddie discussing what lyric they heard in the song that Eddie played coming back from break.

    (49:17-1:15:26) –The second hour of the program with Jake Query and Jimmy Cook starts with the two discussing if Bronny James has been the worst player in Summer League and why people should care about how he performs in Summer League. They get into a discussion about how much travel baseball has had an impact on kids’ interest in baseball.

    (27:07-50:43) – Mac Engel from the Fort Worth Star & Telegram in Dallas joins Jake Query on today’s show to highlight his experience last night at the Home Run Derby, his thoughts on the National Anthem performance, states that he wasn’t surprised to see Arch Manning return to Texas despite not being the starting quarterback after redshirting last season, and shares the story about noticing that something wasn’t right with Jake in the minutes leading up to his heart attack.

    (1:31:14-1:56:54) – Doug Rice from the Performance Racing Network joins Query & Company ahead of the Brickyard 400 this weekend to discuss how talented Kyle Larson is because he views him as one of the most talented drivers in all of racing, explains why Tony Stewart’s racing team is folding, identifies a couple of NASCAR drivers that are having great seasons, shares what he remembers about the first Brickyard 400 in 1994 with this year being the 30th anniversary of the inaugural race, and tries to predict what type of race people will see on Sunday.

Jake also pays tribute to Pacers Sports & Entertainment after Vice Chairman of PS&E, Jim Morris, passed away last Friday. Jake highlights some of the important things that Morris did during his time with Pacers Sports and Entertainment. Additionally, they discuss the two big wins the Indiana Fever picked up since our last show over the Phoenix Mercury and Minnesota Lynx.

    (25:45-43:50) – Penske Sports & Entertainment’s President and CEO, Mark Miles, joins Query & Company to share some of his favorite Jim Morris memories after his passing last Friday. Miles highlights their time together with the Indiana Sports Corporation, reveals what kind of leader he was when he trying to get the Indiana Sports Corp. up and running, shares everything that went on to bring the Pan American Games to Indianapolis in 1987, tries to envision what downtown Indianapolis would be like if Jim didn’t have the visions he did, and labels Morris as the architect of downtown Indianapolis.

    (26:20-41:07) – With the Indiana Pacers set to play their first Summer League game tonight in Las Vegas against the Brooklyn Nets, Jake and Jimmy discuss what they want to see from Jarace Walker and Ben Sheppard. They also discuss how many games they anticipate Walker and Sheppard play.

    (41:07-48:21) – Hour one concludes with Jake asking Jimmy and Eddie for advice on how to preserve something from his childhood home that he wants to keep because his parents are putting their house on the market.
