Show notes

2015 is almost in the books, so why not close out in the most cliche way possible by doing a "The Best of 2015" episode! (I..... I'm lazy and not creative.) It's been a extremely fun year with you the listeners here at the Purple FTW! Podcast. From the end of the 2014 7-9 season, the 5-Hour NFL Draft Live Stream, doing shows from Mankato and all of the insightful guests we've had -- especially the regular contributors Di Murphy, Luke Inman, Lindsey Young and Arif Hasan. NFL Draft Forecast: Sleeper Wide Receivers Dec 29, 2015

Show notes

The Minnesota Fightin' Vikings have been perpetually searching for a big-bodied, go up and get it type wide receiver ever since Sidney Rice left. Here we are again. We were fortunate to find the electric Stefon Diggs late in the draft (5th round) and past two drafts have been prodigious in terms of wide receivers available with no sign of slowing down. Could the Vikes find another stud late to pair with Diggs? Luke Inman (@Luke_Spinman) drops some knowledge on us about some late round sleeper wideouts Vikings fans should keep their eye on.Today's Roster Includes• Corey Davis, Western Michigan • De’Runnya Wilson, Miss State • Rashard Higgins, Colorado State • Leonte Carroo, Rutgers • Devon Cajuste, Stanford • Malcolm Mitchell, Georgia • Braxton Miller, Ohio State • Ricky Seals-Jones, Texas A&MAll this and other "Let's find on the field Josh Gordon 2.0" nonsense on this edition of the Purple FTW! Vikings Face-Off with Arif Hasan Dec 24, 2015

Show notes

The path for the Minnesota Fightin' Vikings is clear: Win Two Games, Win The North. To do that the Purple will have to win in prime time and beat the Packers, things that have been sparse as of late (just ask #VikingsTwitter). The Odell Beckham-less New York Football Giants stand in the way first (although the issue was up in the air during recording). We welcome Arif Hasan (@ArifHasanNFL) back into the friendly confines to talk about Gotham vs Twin Cities.Other topics include how the Vikings got completely messed over in the Pro Bowl voting because fans are sheep, why Ron Jaworski is NOT a premier source for breaking news, if Teddy Bridgewater can keep playing the best ball of his career, how the Giants are basically the Browns without OBJ and Arif and I hand out presents to the team. Because 'tis the season or something. All this and other "Andre Williams is the worst running back I've ever seen in my life" nonsense on this edition of the Purple FTW! The Josh Freeman Bowl with Di Murphy Dec 23, 2015

Show notes

The Minnesota Fightin' Vikings potentially got a Christmas Gift from Odell Beckham Jr by him acting a fool against Carolina and getting suspended for the Purple vs New York Football Giants Sunday Night Football showdown (pending appeal). Di Murphy (@DiMurphyMN) of The Daily Norseman rejoins the show to talk about if OBJ's actions warranted suspension and if the NFL has the fortitude to uphold said suspension on appeal even though it would mean one of the league's biggest stars missing a prime time game with playoff implications. We also chatted about how men and women cannot be friends (sometimes), make fun of Josh Freeman and that 2013 Monday Night Football debacle in the Meadowlands, Di yells at me for wanting Eli over Peyton Manning in a last-minute drive situation, we bask in the greatness of Teddy Bridgewater's performance versus the Bears, and ponder if Adrian Peterson and Teddy B can co-exist for another season or if "All Day" will be "All Gone" in 2016.All this and other "WHY DID JOSH FREEMAN THROW 53 TIMES?!?" nonsense on this edition of the Purple FTW! Star Wars Vikings with Arif Hasan Dec 18, 2015

Show notes

Star Wars is a thing. And the Minnesota Fightin' Vikings and the Chicago Bears are set to clash at TCF Bank Stadium Sunday like the Rebel Alliance and the Dark Side and the Romulans and the.... I've never seen Star Wars.... But Arif Hasan (@ArifHasanNFL) has! We talk about The Force as well as the Purple People Eaters as he makes his weekly stop.We also chatted about which Vikings will make the Pro Bowl (not that the Pro Bowl matters), ask if Rick Spielman is underrated, why Linval Joseph being back is monsterous for our playoff chances, and Arif casts Vikings players as Star Wars characters. Because that's original. All that and other "I've only seen the Family Guy Star Wars...." nonsense on this edition of the Purple FTW!
