The Minnesota Fightin' Vikings are officially slotted into the 23rd overall pick of the upcoming NFL Draft. There are a couple of glaring needs (offensive line, wide receiver, second safety, punter), but it is nice to be looking to supplement an already young and solid team instead of looking for a savior.Luke Inman (@Luke_Spinman) joins us to walk through his FULL 7-round Vikings mock draft as the Purple look to reload and take care of unfinished business in 2016.With the 23rd overall pick of the 2016 NFL Draft, the Minnesota Vikings select..... Quick and Dirty Vikings Offseason Thoughts Jan 11, 2016

Show notes

Instead of working on a Monday morning (overrated), I decided to yammer on for 40 minutes about the Minnesota Fightin' Vikings offseason, what priorities should/should not be in free agency and the draft, who's safe and who's not on the offensive line and which training camp battles I'm excited to see. Straight off the cuff, unprepared (shocker), unrehearsed Vikings takes if you're into that sort of thing. All this and other "Shut Up, Old Man" nonsense on this edition of the Purple FTW! Vikings-Seahawks Recap Jan 11, 2016

Show notes

That was a less than ideal way for the Minnesota Fightin' Vikings to end the 2015 campaign. But let's not lose the forest through the trees, this season was a damn good year and this young football team is ahead of schedule with Mike Zimmer. We went 11-5, won a division title, and will be in the mix as legitimate Super Bowl contenders next season. Take a while to let this game marinate, but not all is lost. This team's best football is ahead of it. Talking Points Include• Was It Cold Out?• Bud Grant is My Idol• Blair Walsh is Not the Reason We Lost• This is Not Adrian Peterson's Team• Free Teddy Bridgewater• There Are OTHER Pieces on this Offense• Offensive Line Needs to be Overhauled• The Defense Was the MVP Today• Trae Waynes was Impressive• Josh Robinson was Not• The Seahawks Did Everything to Lose the Game, We Gave Them a Gift• Twitter and Facebook Questions• Why 2016 Will Be HUGEEEEE• Podcast Offseason Programming PlanAll this and other "WAS IT COLD OUT? Vikings-Seahawks Preview with Dayna O'Gorman of NFL Female Jan 09, 2016

Show notes

[Note: Episode recorded before Marshawn Lynch was officially ruled out]

Merry Vikings Wild Card Eve, Vikings Fans! The Minnesota Fightin' Vikings are set to play the Seattle Seahawks tomorrow afternoon at The Bank (aka Hoth) kicking off what we hope to be an extended run in the playoffs for this young team. To get the other perspective of the game, we welcome back show favorite Dayna O'Gorman (@DaynaOG) of the NFL Female Podcast to chat about the 'Birds and the Vikes.Today's topics include why the 38-7 beatdown a few weeks ago might not have been indicative of where these two teams are, how Russell Wilson has become the face of that franchise and how Teddy Bridgewater could/should/will become the face of ours, what Marshawn Lynch returning might mean for the game, why the Pro Bowl is stupid (until it's not), how this clash of two great defenses might shake out, and how playing in a commercial freezer will have an effect on the matchup. All this and other "This is a Bud Grant Game" nonsense on this edition of the Purple FTW! The Hateful Vikes with Arif Hasan Jan 08, 2016

Show notes

The Minnesota Fightin' Vikings have revenge on their mind and would love nothing more than to dispatch the Seattle Seahawks Tarantino style. Like Kill Bill style. Or the end of Inglorious Basterds style. (No spoilers for The Hateful Eight). To do so, the Purple will have to play a hateful 3.5 hours (just like the damn movie) and our man Arif Hasan (@ArifHasanNFL) is back in the building to talk about how Zimmer and the Reservoir Dogs can get it done on Sunday. Pulp Fiction.Arif and I run through how the Seahawks can get got, answer a few of your Twitter Questions, discuss my controversial playoff coach power rankings, and pick who we want to see in the Super Bowl (if the Vikings somehow don't make it).I also complain about sweet potato fries. They. Are. Garbage. All this and other "This is a Bud Grant Game" nonsense on this edition of the Purple FTW! Making a Zimmerer with Di Murphy Jan 07, 2016

Show notes

Playoffs, Homeboy. As the Minnesota Fightin' Vikings prepare to take on the Seattle Seahawks on the surface of Pluto Sunday, we welcome in Di Murphy (@DiMurphyMN) of The Daily Norseman for her weekly spot to set this mother on fire with Hot Takes.Besides discussing Making a Murderer (which I do at length), we dive into the deliciousness of winning the NFC North, why this team isn't satisfied with being one-and-done in the playoffs, how Seattle can get got, how Harrison Smith is a better safety than Kam Chancellor and Earl Thomas combined, why the 38-7 beatdown was a fluke, if there's any coaches in the NFL we'd take over Mike Zimmer, and why fans going to the game Sunday have no right to complain about the cold. All this and other "Home " nonsense on this edition of the Purple FTW! Vikings: The Revengers with Tom Schreier Jan 06, 2016

Show notes

The Minnesota Fightin' Vikings Revenge Tour rolls on as we welcome in the Seattle Seahawks to The Bank for what's expected to be one of the coldest games in NFL history. Tom Schreier (@tschreier3) of Cold Omaha joins the show as we talk some Purple and being four wins away from that long awaited Super Bowl ring.We also dive into what it feels like to be Division champs and why that should become old hat for this team shortly, why we need to find out if Teddy Bridgewater is a franchise quarterback or not, Adrian Peterson's reasoning for bringing back up the offseason drama in Sports Illustrated, how the Adrian child abuse debate is like arguing abortion and gun control (hear me out), all of the ways the Seahawks are coming in overrated, and I talk about why Bruce Arians and Mike Zimmer are my two favorite coaches in the NFL.All this and other "The Seahawks Can Get Got" nonsense on this edition of the Purple FTW! NFC NORTH CHAMPS: Vikings-Packers Recap Jan 04, 2016

Show notes

The Minnesota Fightin' Vikings are your NFC North Champions after defeating the hated Green Bay Packers 20-13 Sunday Night at Lambeau Field. Everson Griffen and the Vikings defense kept Aaron Rodgers and Eddie "Slim" Lacy in check to bring home the Purple's first division title since 2009. The Vikes square off against the Seattle Seahawks (revenge game, son) in the Wild Card Round at noon Sunday at The Bank. But before we look ahead, let's look back at the Vikings shaking off the "You can't beat Green Bay/You can't win big games in prime time" narratives.Other "This is Our Damn Division" Talking Points Include• The Idea of Losing Intentionally Was Moronic• Defense Take a Bow• We Don't Win Without Everson Griffen. Period.• Teddy Was Okay When Throwing Right-Handed....• Adrian Got His Rushing Title• FREE McKinnon• Adam Thielen: NFC Title Game MVP• Vikings Got the Calls?• Zimmer Farmer Blow = Elite• Zimmer End of Half/Game Management...• Twitter Qs• Charting Out the Vikings Revenge Tour All this and other "Home " nonsense on this edition of the Purple FTW! Vikings-Packers Preview with Arif Hasan Dec 31, 2015

Show notes

The Minnesota Fightin' Vikings and the Green Bay Packers are setup for a shootout at the Lambeau Corral Sunday Night to determine the NFC North Champion. Fortunately we have Teddy Earp, Zimmer Earp, Blair Earp and Doc Harrison Holiday in our posse. The Packers have Ike and Billy Clanton. (Excuse me while I go watch Tombstone. It's a phenomenal movie.)Arif Hasan (@ArifHasanNFL) swings by to preview Border Battle 2.0. We chat about how Green Bay can get got, why Vikings fans should want the damn home playoff game and not try to be cute, how far this team can realistically go in the playoffs and if Teddy Bridgewater's resurgence can be enough to take us on a magic carpet ride. Also we determine that I make more references to the movie Looper more than any other human on planet Earth. All this and other "The Vikings aren't your Huckleberry" nonsense on this edition of the Purple FTW!
